When was the first manga released to the public? If we can figure that out then we can make Grell's first appearance in the manga National Grell Sutcliff Day!! Or her birthday for the time being since we don't know when her birthday is yet.

we DO celebrate grelles birthday on the first day she appeared in the manga! february 17th! i dont know how long we've been doing that, but i know its been that way for a while.

im a big multishipper when it comes to grelle. i enjoy redcliff, grellerin, sutkins (grelle x nina), grellefellows (grelle x hannah), etc... but i dont ship her with any men. theres barely any straight ships i myself ship across any of my favorite media, lol. i dont have a problem with other grelle ships, though. if theyre not my cup of tea then theyre not my cup of tea. i dont like trying to justify hate for a ship when you can just say you dont like it 😭

SORRY I GOT SIDE-TRACKED, i think redcliff has to be my personal fav. theyre mentioned in my main's bio after all, and if you look back at my red butler posts its easy to tell i favor them. but i think theres a serious drought with sutkins and grellefellows... last i checked, sutkins on ao3 only has 6 fics!! please give my rarepair yuri some attention!!!

Have an opinion on how the anime (after the jack the ripper arc/ not BOA) presented Grell? I know it's very different from the manga:3

not my grelle.... when they began making the non-canon anime, i believe it was the late 2000s (correct me if im wrong, but if i am wrong, then it was at least very early 2010s), and they only had the red butler arc to use as reference for grelles character. which... is a stereotype, obviously. she was perverted and unprofessional and exaggerated in a bad way. i think the closest we got to canon grelle was when she fought hannah. i can still find it in me to love her, as she is a grelle, but i dont see her as The grelle, like in the manga.

but, i think they did butler grelle good. they did make her a good singer... as she should be...

butttt, then i think of grelle in her latest chapter, with her pretty coat and gorgeous hair, and i get daydreaming...

obligatory butler grelle... for some reason, i always found this particular expression to be very charming. maybe its because her expression is softer than the usual panic butler grelle has

OHHHH....... OH RED BUTLER GRELLE SAVE ME!!!!! i find her pure demanding presence and power in this panel to be entrancing. yes her character was a bad stereotype in red butler, but she was the type of insane that i find very attractive

and this panel that i fawned over in the tags when i posted it. the controlled pose, the shattered glass, the light beaming behind her... shes an angel in this panel, utterly. ive spent long minutes starting at this many a times before
