Watching Litrpg just... come into being has been really cool as a fan of reading and video gaming both. The way it's mostly indie is also kinda new for literature as well.
Reading on Royal Road taught me that "there is nothing new under the sun" attitude I've had towards storytelling is not as true as I thought. Sure, I still believe that there's nothing wrong with using concepts and conventions that others before you have employed. But amateur writers are making new genres as we speak. A few years ago, there was no such thing as Dungeon Core stories. LitRPG was barely a thing until, like, five years ago.
As stories are written, inevitably someone will stumble upon something genuinely new, or a previously not utulised amalgamation of concepts. And people notice this, take it, put a new spin on it, and iteration after iteration, more new concepts emerge. Infinitely.
The past centuries of culture have made and refined the building blocks all fiction writers can now use. And on Royal Road, Scribblehub, and other similar spaces, there are communities of folks who take the pieces from a Lego Millenium Falcon and a few 3d printed details, and build a functional car engine.

This is so mean but I do love it.
Lisa: “you looking for a friend?” *leans in* “or perhaps… more?”
Taylor: *eyes widen*; two friends?!

Tecton: All right, to welcome our newest member let’s go around the circle and give our names and one fun fact about ourselves.
Weaver: I’m Weaver, and I’ve killed three PRT directors.
Tecton: Okay, let’s have slightly less fun with that fact.

Okay but seriously. Include THE DICE.
"99 times you'll just have a bit of fun. But that 100th time- you get Nilbog in your town."
Honestly, it seems like the school system there should take bullying much more seriously than they do as a result.
Okay so Taylor's civilian identity was outed publicly.
Everyone knows Taylor is Skitter is Weaver
The director of the Chicago PRT didn't like her and enjoyed putting her in situations where she had to deal with the public/be interviewed....I think he'd absolutely be enough of a dick to put her in situations where she'd be pressured into talking about her Trigger event.
Which leads me to:
"Weaver Anti-Bullying PSAs" that get played in school, like the Captain America "So you got detention" meme.
In which Taylor decided to have a moment of catharsis by speaking to bullies in a language they'll understand.
"Remember kids, that nerd you shoved in a locker might get powers from it and turn out like me....Is that really a problem you want in your life? No? Then play nice Emma"

Thus game took me a couple tries to get into but when I got into it I absolutely adored it. I would argue the plot is very different from bloodnornes in terms of the questions it asks.

This is something I've always found annoying. I get it when you're invaded but half these games don't even have that much multi-player! Making it impossible to answer the phone is not adding to the experience.
I hate the toxicity around souls games and pause buttons. Having Tourettes makes it fucking hard to do everything in one go without a pause button. Stop shaming and harassing people who want to be able to pause their god damn soulslike.

I love this design. The cabling on the outside really gives it an industrial feel.

This feels so unrealistic until you’ve been on a couple very large projects that were saddled with someone no one could tell ‘no.’ Still an interesting story.

The Swedish warship Vasa. It sank in 1628 less than a mile into its maiden voyage and was recovered from the sea floor after 333 years almost completely intact. Now housed at the Vasa Museum in Stockholm, is the world's best preserved 17th century ship
