KA 3. How did your oc discover themself? Did something cause them to question, or did they always know?

KA always felt it, or rather, had a lack of feeling like they belonged to one camp or the other. They always thought of themself as a person first. They were close to their older brother and until their father started pointing it out, they genuinely did not think there was any difference between them. From that moment on they started actively resenting being clocked as "female" and would do whatever they could to distance themself from that moniker. Even being perceived as a man was preferable. Depending on the setting and their age, they tend to still agonize over what feels the most right. Cus they don't necessarily resent their body, just the connotations. Sometimes going on T makes them happier, sometimes it starts to feels like another performative mistake. Lot of little things happen thorough their life to keep them questioning their presentation. But ultimately they always have been and always will be nonbinary, even if they dont always have the words for it. Feeling seen in that way would make them really really happy.

KA 6. How does your oc feel about labels? Theirs, or in general?

Not the biggest fan, as one might suspect. Tends to think of them as pretty fluid casual things, especially where sexual orientation is concerned, isn't really gonna pay much attention to that from others lol. In modern au at one point they count themself as a transmasc nonbinary bisexual lesbian, so like, clearly labels aren't that big of a deal to them. N theyre always feeling conflicted over something or other to define it too neatly. They dont really like spelling things out for people, but they'll probably respect other peoples choice of labels. Unless its a loser man theyd love to forcefem or something.

DEIMOS- 7. Is there something that could cause your oc to question their identity? What?

Unless they suddenly got way dumber overnight, no fucking way. Gender is for lower-evolved life forms. Deimos opinion is the only one that matters.

CREVICE 8. Have they had struggles with their identity, be it due to internal or external reasons?

Hmmmm, not that I can think of. It helps that hes cis and so that confirms his gender enough for him to be confident even when presenting in a garish or effeminate way. The outrage his outfits produce kinda overshadow the other elements. Hes not even a human being to others. Hes some kind of disgusting corrupt fucking creature and he loves itttt. Whats sexy to him doesnt really have much to do with traditionally viewed sex appeal, theres not much gendered about it, unless we count bdsm goth a gender. Even his chosen name lacks any human dignity. It reminds one of something unsavory, hidden away, a dirty crack, a forgotten hole filled with dust and grime. Something slithering and slimy crawling out of one. Because who would want a name like Crevice? Maybe some of it is a kind of spiteful reclamation of self when being physically disabled, from a feeling in early childhood like he wasnt enough of a person to keep his parents happy, to do the things expected of him. Hell, his mother gave his intended birthname to KA when she found out he's disabled, despite him being firstborn and male, feeling like he wouldnt be capable of upholding such a heroic name, that it would be wasted on him. Hes had the strentgh to rise up to topple those negative opinions because he always had the support of his sibling, and often a group of people who believed in him. Wanted to see him express himself in exactly the way that made him happy. So I guess actually yes lol. But hes always been actively striving toward what he himself wants and feels the best as. Hes used to people being against him because of the sheer shock of just seeing him and revels in it.

Autonomous Bodies for the snippet thing? uvu

ok so that was one of the two non-iwatex wips. Funfact, its also scifi! But very experimental prose, body horror weirdness type stuff.

I did indeed find a place where I could actually try writing something and not just endlessly edit down phrases and push number around. But, its gooey and weird and somewhere towards the end of the story. Adding in the whole section indented for slightly more context.

TW for body horror

X. Once comfortable, It puts  its head in her lap. She is all attention, all rigid and tense and It thinks, this is protection, this is love. Her stiffened limbs like pillars around its too soft body. Finally, safe. It relaxes and drifts off to sleep, willing her to stroke its strands of grey-ash wisps and pure matter. Or perhaps, she comes to this herself, despite herself, in spite of herself, in the name of discovery. Fingers sunk into the velvet softness of its  exposed cranium. Never to return. Never hers again. Her heart beats. Once. Twice. And no more than that. Not for a long time.

 At last, her body drops out of orbit and meets its brand new center of gravity. It is done keeping her on its periphery. But all good things must not come to an end for the Angel has not learned this lesson yet. It wants to keep her. 

It dreams of home where nothing ever ends or begins. Her searching hands come with. 

Porous waves like frills spill from her blooming thigh, as angel-ship-crew roots pass from Its body to hers and start stitching them together. Shinbone to ribs, knee to crook of neck, femur to skull. Both yield with a kind of soft inevitability, welcoming the other in.

In dreams Deronzier’s Angel finds new sights to sublimate them. New ways of loving new things. Fiberglass cords call out to it as if for embrace. It understands now what had distressed the woman. How alien the ship without its melody of perfect working order.
