Gay metal, or queer metal, is kinda an unofficial genre. It's complicated, but the simplest way I can explain it is that it doesn't have a specific sound, but it's more so a broad "umbrella" term to describe bands who explore queer themes in their music.

I always get so irked out whenever I see people simping over dead musicians. I can't explain why, but just watching them be like "omg Euronymous was so hot! I'd let him do anything to me!!" is so weird. Especially if they ship them with other members or assume stuff about them that isn't even true. I've seen a "woman" on TikTok live say that Kurt Cobain was trans, and I've seen someone else say that Pelle Ohlin was trans on reddit or something like that too.

It's weird. Stop it. You're giving other trans people a bad reputation.

Do you, btw, know anything about how to tune electric motors? I have been wondering if you can do that to a kitchen saw, so it can't be controlled. So, regardless if I wanted it or not, it would cut me up at the concert (and others). But now is time to shut up. Btw what is that sampler-EP going to be called? Chicken and the hit shits?

(This is a part of the letter sent to Jens Näsström, presumably from mid 1990, where Pelle made plans about how to reform Morbid. The reason why it's important is because of Pelle asking Jens about the kitchen saw) 

[Continuation of the kitchen saw problematic]:

"P. S: Very important! Dead is probably going to cut himself totally in pieces at one of the gigs (to say the least), so it would be great if you could find out where the nearest hospitals are, in case he is dying" - Øystein in a letter to Morgan Håkansson 

(It's the letter where they discussed the gigs that were supposed to happen in Sweden. 

Usage of the kitchen saw for that gig in Sweden has been mentioned 4-5 times in letters by Pelle, and Morgan once said that he even bought it for him (it's a post I published in 2023 on this page).

I think I don't have to explain how dangerous electrical kitchen/butcher saw is, and what kind of gruesome injuries it can make, it is made to cut through the bone. Pelle showed absolutely no fear or worry, on the contrary, he was trying real hard to make it happen.

Øystein's handwritten addition to the letter tells us that he was, in fact, aware of the danger ("he will cut himself to pieces"), just like he was many other times when he asked for hospital locations, and/or help from others when it came to Pelle self harming. 

In the end I want to also add:

You CANNOT forbid a grown man to stop cutting. There is no stopping it or preventing it. Where there is a will, there is a way. Pelle was not a child and Pelle did what he wanted, and all of this is a very far cry from the ridiculous statements how Øystein loved this or how he pushed him to do it.

Btw, Pelle's wish to possibly cut someone else with the kitchen saw, paired with his idea about firing the shotgun through the roof in the house full of people during Morbid era, and his complete unwillingness to back down is not something I will see people talking about. If it were Øystein and not Pelle, everyone would talk how cruel and violent he is. Just saying.) 🦇
