A PSA about trucks from a truck driver

I and some colleagues were talking about how we wish everyone could see the safety videos that our company was showing us, because I don’t think most people understand how traffic works in a truck. So here’s some things we wish everyone on the road knew.

- we’re not kidding about tailgating. If you’re right behind us on a straight highway? Chances are we have NO IDEA you’re there, which means we can’t anticipate any of your movements. Plus slowing down takes multiple downshifts, so we might start decreasing speed way earlier than you expect.

- We’re not kidding about any of our blind spots. WE CAN’T SEE YOU, GUYS.

- That bit about slowing down taking a while? The same goes for when you’re in front of us. Don’t cut off a truck. Oh god, PLEASE don’t cut off a truck. If you cut me off, I’m not irritated, I’m terrified. For YOU. It can take 7 to 9 seconds for us to stop. DON’T CUT OFF TRUCKS.

- Before you get mad about how slow we’re going on the highway, keep in mind that many companies govern their vehicles so they literally CAN’T go over 60 or 65. This is a good thing, I promise. Because…

- Do you know what happens when a car meets a truck in an accident? The car gets totaled and the truck needs a new coat of paint. You will not win this fight. I know nobody likes getting stuck behind a big dumb truck, but it’s not worth your life.

We are trying our best to protect you from our 80,000 pound death machines. Please help us out.

i really love our generation’s joke trend of like, very calm but incredibly inflated hyperbole. like nobody says “oh she’s pretty” anymore we say “i would willingly let her murder me” and everyone is just like “lol same”

i think “same” is also great and “me,” i love when somebody reblogs a picture of like, a lizard, and just says “me” and we all know exactly what they mean. the current online Humor Discourse is remarkable because we trade exclusively in metaphors and implications and nobody ever, ever says anything outright and yet EVERYBODY understands each other perfectly

We all want a Wheel of Time TV show like Game of Thrones however we all know that this is not happening for the simple reason that it will be way way too expensive and no network will go for it. However do you know what will be both affordable and great to see on TV. A live action WoT TV show based on New Spring and centered around Moiraine and Lan

This works on many levels.

First we can introduce both the One Power and the history of this world through the POV of Moiraine and Suian. We can have them  teaching Novice classes and discussing which Ajah they want to join. This will be both affordable to the CGI budget and ease the audience into the universe

Through Lan we can get both stereotypical sword packed action of the fantasy genre and introduce the basics of other countries in this world and the Aiel.

I think we can fit the entire  New Spring in 13 episodes and make it a strong first season.

The second season can be an original one. Something to raise even more interest and solidify the audience before we go into the main books. We can set it several years later and see a now more powerful and knowledgeable Moiraine and an even more badass Lan. We can track her first meeting with the Green Man which can serve to introduce the Blight and Shienar. We can have Moiraine and Lan going to Andor and meeting Morgaese and having Moiraine meet her baby niece Elayne(we can do this while Thom is away trying to help his nephew)

We can introduce Ishmael and the Black Ajah in the background as we see the Shadow rising and beginning to spread the message about the Eye of the World which would allow us to introduce Stedding Shangtai and Loial.  . We can see Elyas discovering the wolves and running away(perhaps after one last spar with Lan) An after some nice big battle at the end of the season where Moiraine and Lan  we can have a prologue set one year before the main. With Moiraine meeting Min who’s vision will give her the final clue to where the Dragon is.

And third season will be the Eye of the World. Now I know that a lot of fans won’t like the idea of an original second season but I think it will be essential for preparing the mainstream audience(who will most definitely not be book fans) for the main books. This will keep them from getting overwhelmed with too many new characters and places and two successful seasons will make sure that the network would be willing to invest more money for what will certainly be much more expensive new seasons as we get into the main books

So yeah. This is my plan on how we can sneak Wheel of Time on TV and make it successful.
