          ❝ I see... I mean, you’re right! There are definitely other nicer foods to gift! I’m certain fruitcake is wonderful, especially if the chef puts their heart and experience into it!! ❞ maybe she was being a little too passionate about her love of food. ❝ !!? You’ve never heard of tarte tatin?! I thought it was a popular food, but. It’s... simply put, it’s an upside down apple tart with sugar and pastry. And then you turn it fruit side up to serve! Nobody knowing what it is here should be a crime. I need to rectify this! ❞

…it’s not going well. It’s like he has two left feet and no coordination. He slams a fist against the ground in frustration.

          GOLD WATCHES BRIEFLY, HAVING HEARD the counting of steps not far off, which has drawn her attention. yet it was soon after that the sound of a fall occurs, causing her to remain silent, if only for a moment after until he speaks, as she watches the unfortunate display.  ❝ ... I’ve been told it’s a lot like coordinating steps on a battlefield, ❞ she chimes in after the fist slam, only realizing after that it was probably a tad rude to even be here like this.

          HOW LOVELY, THE WAY THE stars trail through, every planet itself an alluring hue amidst an almost blackened abyss. yet any who knew her would note how different she reacts to it all, eyes intent ahead of her rather than glancing which way, brows furrowed as if far too anxious to find any reason to sight-see. even now fingers are nearly too tight around the other’s, likely a precaution against her wandering off, she is certain. ah, not that she can truly blame him after being invited to such an extravagant place as this the moment the festivities started up.

          taking a breath, she does her best to relax even the slightest, tugging him along to a small blanket she had prepared beforehand for the two. ❝ Over here, Percival. I even asked for some special desserts, ❞ she speaks, noting the various french pastries sprawled out, maybe more in the hopes it might help ease her racing heart. letting go of his hand, she plops herself down well enough, glancing up at some of the comets passing through. just like you rehearsed at home, jeanne, she thinks momentarily before finally speaking.

          ❝ ... it’s beautiful, isn’t it? Even back home in Paris, things like this weren’t a common sight... ❞ she recalls, trying to remember if there was anything similar to such a thing. ❝ Percival, what do you think about us---? ❞ a pause, realizing the fumble of words, far beyond what she had meant to say.  ❝ !!?! Wait! I-I meant this! This!! Yes, that is exactly what I was trying to say. What I mean to say is what do you think about this!? ❞ great, so much for all that practice.
