Three Years

hey

today marks the 3 year anniversary of ex nihilo debuting here on tumblr, i just wanna say thanks for reading.

if you dont keep up with the comic much, i started a long form series thats an extension of ex nihilo, called Sanguis Ex Nihilo. its being done very slowly bc a) im very busy, i have a new job this year which is going well, also i have two young kids, b) i suck at drawing and c) im trying to get a new computer soon to edit faster

Sanguis is basically an existential supernatural horror story about the number Zero going through some stuff. some of my most favorite fucked up scenes are a long way away (S.Ex.N. will have four parts and im barely into part 1) so i appreciate you staying with me. if you wanna help, just read and talk to me about the comic if you like it

hello, have some questions

what is the hardest character to write?

the different locations aside the numbers houses very cool, are there more?

2, 4, 6, 7, are very easy for me to write. the rest are actually hard for me to make interesting. 9 is very very quiet and almost never speaks, and that was a decision i made on purpose so that he and 8 could have a more phineas and ferb style sibling relationship.

5 is kind of just the representation of my maturity and my adulthood, so i draw him in a "work from home" robe. he serves as a voice of reason and companionship for 0.

3 is basically just like 5, but hes the representation of my indulgences, being a slacker and just general exhaustion and laziness.

1 is fun to write but i dont enjoy it that often bc i basically wrote him to be a self aggrandizing asshole.

and finally, zero is hard to write bc i identify with him so strongly, and im kind of a very timid and shy person with loneliness issues. so hes kind of a blank slate for me to just insert whatever im feeling any given moment.

locations are hard, theres specifically going to be certain liminal areas to convey the story. like bars, markets, etc. as the story goes along, there will be more mathematical landmarks that will appear in...unexpected and frightening ways ;)
