With my cheek resting softly on his palms, he brushes my cheekbones with his thumb, slowly gliding against my pitiful tears. He says,
"Be gentle to yourself. The pain I feel from your tears aches my heart."

When the clouds have just finished shedding its’ last few tears and the beaming light pierces through, it causes me to squint and let my eyelids softly seal shut, allowing me to exhale the last remnants of my pleasure.

"I want more time between us. Is that possible?
"Sure, but on one condition."
"Please. For any condition."
After that conversation, I could never unhear the ticking of our time. Even as I dawn over my hopeless body.

People want someone who will lay down everything for you, and those people are called hopeless romantics.
No. I'm just setting standards for myself.

[Short Story]Write about dream assassins who are tasked with fighting nightmares that disturb people’s sleep
The moon was full and illuminated over the serene village. At least, for the most part. Once every month, the nightmares would come to haunt the children that fear them the most. With inconsistent appearances, the children accumulated a sense of paranoia
“I can’t believe this war is not yet over.”
On the other side of the nightmares, are the dream assassins who’s duties are to protect the village from the treacherous nightmares that creep in the shadows.
“As long as they lurk, we stay and protect. That’s our role in this universe.”
The Dream Assassins live amongst the villagers as spirits during the day, and by night, they travel from flame to flame in front of every front door. The villagers make sure to light the candle outside their front door before heading to sleep, so that the dream assassins can watch over them.
“The chances of them coming tonight are slim, I mean, in the last few months they came during the early days. They won’t do that again.” Wind’s flame grew big and bright, which was an equivalent to widening his shoulders and puffing his chests. “Instead, they might surprise us during the last days of the month so we think they finally left!” Wind’s flame fell short as if his posture drooped. “Is that not a reasonable explanation?”
“Wind, we were given this power by the moon herself. She chose us for a reason. Think of yourself as the one of the chosen ones. Don’t think of it as running some errands.” Luminous’ flame was always bright, but not too bright for it to be detected.
“Luminous, please. Those were the same explanations as yesterday. At least come up with a new excuse every night like I do!”
Silence fell.
“I meant that-.”
“Shh.” Luminous’ flame sparked up to quiet Wind.
The Dream Assassins noticed a sudden drop in temperature. With the atmosphere feeling dense, candles started to lose their flames.
Sighting a dark shadow dashing into an alley, they emerged out of the candles and into their spirit form to pursue the shadow. It had swift movements and we were at a disadvantage with the lack of light. The challenge began.
“Let’s split up. You take right.” Luminous ordered with two fingers pointing to the right.
Following this energy was harder than usual, but not impossible. As Luminous turned a corner, the shadow was quickly halted by a dead end. Finally revealing itself out of its shadows and into the moonlight.
“Raven,” Luminous gritted his teeth. “I should have known.”
“Luminous, it’s an honor to be chased by the infamous Light.” With his arms stretched out and his chin raised, he gave Luminous his best mocking smirk.
“How many dreams have to perish tonight? However many it is, I’ll make sure it stays zero.” Luminous’ hand hovered over his holster, ready to react in lighting speed.
“Zero?” Raven scoffed, “Is it to make up for the previous perished dreams that you’ve failed to save from me?”
“I’ve had it!”
Luminous armed his light revolver and pointed straight to Raven. The surrounding air feeling ever so heavy, he steadied his aim to Raven’s head.
“This ends now.”
“Oh, you’re too precious.” Raven furrowed his brows.
Vanishing into thin air, he wielded his scythe and reappeared behind Luminous ready to devour his energy.
At the last second, Luminous darted his arm up and clocked his hand back, pointing the revolver straight to Raven’s forehead. With one breath, Luminous pulled the trigger. Raven loosened his grip, dropping his scythe, and then to the floor.
With his head turned to the side, Luminous spoke with ease.
“Sweet dreams.”
