If someone's wrong on the internet, and you feel the need to call them out for it, please do everyone a favour and specifically state which part of the claim is incorrect. Just going "um this is blatant misinformation" or "me when I'm lying" and not elaborating isn't going to contribute anything, if you've got a real point you'll need to let people know what it is.

Just recently I encountered some really interesting and wild anecdote on this very site, and thought "hmm interesting, I should see the notes to see if anyone can verify this", and indeed found plenty of people saying that the OP is talking nonsense, or even downright contradicting the source they cited. But I had to scroll way down before someone elaborated what they were mad about:

The claim that nobody knows what causes the phenomenon that OP was talking about, and nobody knows why it only impacts some people. Neither of which was a claim that OP made. What OP had said was that nobody knows why this phenomenon impacts some people more strongly than others, and that there's no way of telling whether you're particularly vulnerable to it before you try. Neither of which was contradictory to any source cited.

So please: If you're going to correct someone on the internet, please kindly state explicitly which part of the claim is incorrect, and then clearly state what the correct alternative is. Just because I can trust that you know what you're talking about doesn't mean I can trust that you know how to read.
