For Throwback Thursday, we have decided to reenact a memorable moment from our very first Explorathon when we were walking along Limestone Road (Route 7). It was about 7:30 in the morning after a long night of walking. We were tired and our legs were sore so we were going crazy at the moment. Since it was a Sunday morning, we kept saying in old people voices, “Church is coming, ring the bells!” I don’t know where that saying came from but it’s definitely an Explorathon moment I’ll never forget!

A Trip Down Memory Lane

At this time last year, we would have already completed the first Explorathon and I would had just woken up from my post Explorathon nap to get ready to go bowling with my friends in the Mentoring Class! It’s amazing that I was even able to function in normal everyday activities considering I had walked 34 miles in the course of 16 and a half hours and was sore in my legs for most of the week! It was definitely a fun way to get some exercise though!

Explorathon Anniversary

A year ago on this day, we did our very first Explorathon! Wow how time flies! This definitely brings back some great memories! We would definitely do this again if we had the option!

Here is the map for our fourth and final Explorathon! Things got really crazy this time around and once again, we had an incident where we had to think on our feet when things didn’t go according to plan and made history by doing our very first Double Explorathon! This time around, we walked for 22.8 Miles and we were out and about for 14 hours and 8 minutes! While we didn’t go out with a bang like I had hoped, this is still an amazing accomplishment and I had a great time regardless of all the pain my legs were in during and after this adventure and I will definitely remember this for a long time! It’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey!

Explorathon Posts Finally Completed

Everything is posted from last Explorathon! Now all I need to do is post the Explorathon map for that Explorathon! Since I am tired right now, I am going to go to sleep then post the map later this evening! Goodnight everyone!

We have made it back to Independence Hall meaning we have completed the fourth and final Explorathon! We have also survived our very first Double Explorathon! Even though things didn’t go as planned most of the time, this was overall an awesome experience! Thank you all for following along!
