So a few weeks ago I got to transform into the Goddess that I am...

And everytime I envision a Goddess, the first thing that comes to mind is nature and nurture, yes all else will follow, like power/control, transformation, a higher being, spirituality, and so on.

This actually took me back to my book worm days, and sometimes my current roles, and interactions. Sustainability was, and still is the way of life, everything exists due to nature or our natural environment. The social activities we engage in, create an environment where the economy functions. It all starts with nature, and we need the natural environment to survive, if there is an imbalance, all else fails. An imbalance is usually created by mixing up the spheres of sustainability... However, this is a topic for another day...

The three spheres of sustainability (environmental, social, and economical), represented the ideal functioning of the world, now there are probably way much more spheres.

With all that said, this is how I see a Goddess, this supernatural being, that is able to keep lifes balance, by creating it, maintaining it, and experiencing it pass. I see power expressed through vision and purpose, these people were able to transform their entire cities, towns, spaces, and wellbeing, simply through their rule.

Isn't it fascinating how space, place, time, and rule can influence your entire existence?

This shoot was taken in the now, but the building expresses centuries of life, somewhere that I can never step into today, it brings ancient spaces, and places into our "new" and modern sphere...

I always think January is a tad bit overwhelming to start unpacking, or cleaning up your space, your life, setting your goals, and drawing up your vision board for the year ahead. This is why I always start my decluttering between February and March. I believe by that time, you are able to do away with all those not so well thought out expectations, and the hype of setting sometimes unrealistic resolutions has died off. I always imagine this process as getting back home from work, taking off those office clothes, running a hot bath, having that glass of wine, and immersing yourself in just being.

I had a shoot next to the Johannesburg Road Agency building, which to me embodies transparency, because of its glass facade, modern, and almost futuristic feel. That's how I plan on experiencing the year, being transparent with myself, and looking ahead to a clearly imagined future...

So... as I declutter, and look forward to the year ahead🥂
