"Negative." Crash shook her head. "I wish I could. This radar ain't working like it used to be anymore. And we've been wiping out some hapless Imps left and right."

"I kind of miss him." The orange-armored soldier sighed. "Back when I was still posted on Mars, me, him and the boys would've played card games at the lounge. He absolutely dominated in Uno-- Seen a lot of times where some unlucky sap threw his deck off the table."

"Huh. Didn't know he's the master of making people rage quit." Crash would tilt her head to the side.

"You bet my ass he'd do it again any chance he can get, Sergeant." Phobos would smile beneath his helmet.

"'Nother day, 'nother search. I hope we got this in the bag-- Don't want to be Baron snack this time of the day... If we can even count time in Hell like we do anywhere else." He would say, after which Crash would nod and, they would continue walking through the Hellscape.

(hey. been a hot minute since my last post. much apologies if i worried any of you with my absence.

so, tl;dr i decided to quietly take hiatus from text rp here and spend my time elsewhere instead. some say that little to no variety dulls one's life experience, so there's that.

i may do some background work for this blog and update it whenever i get the time to-- you'll maybe see some things gone from here, new things added to this blog etc. no guarantee on when i'll get things rolling here again, though, but you can still chat with me anytime! if you don't already have me as a contact on discord, feel free to ask via instant messaging.

If the Khan Maykr desired to know, then it was only fair that Kahann offered.

The man before Khamani took a deep breath, to prepare. Then he would begin

"Have you heard of a pair of gods-- Brothers, who once dared to dream and make them reality? I am one of them. The other... You know how it went for him." It was implied that Davoth was related to him. By blood, perhaps? But their origins were still a mystery-- Some of which were best staying hidden but to him.

"Argent D'nur is but my second home. I had another, before this one." The way Kahann said it would insinuate that it was a heavy subject to him. But Khamani wished to know more.

She would know more alright. She just had to inquire further, before he could continue. He would wait in anticipation.

There had been a persistent feeling in the back of Khamani's mind ever since she laid eyes on Kahann. One might say it's a feeling of deja-vu - memories not of her own resurfacing for the first time in aeons.

Is it truly that surprising she'd seek out the meaning behind this feeling? She thinks not. Curiosity is built into the core of each and every Maykr, and she's at the center of it all.

❮ Perhaps it is because of that buried history that I wish to learn more. ❯

Not that she doesn't have access to the hidden history of the Maykrs. The defeat of their Creator, the ascension of the Father, the true origin of Hell. But there's gaps in that history, bits and pieces that don't add up.

❮ I would like to understand what you once were. That important role you once played in this world. ❯ She tilts her head ever-so-slightly. ❮ The memories I carry of your visage - far too long ago for a mere mortal. ❯

...Eh. As much as the Slayer here would like to take on bigger challenges, he is still busy. He has a certain god-tyrant with an oversized armor that looks more like a sea creature than an insect to hunt down.

Despite being vastly different from his older twin, Kahann shares something in common with Davoth-- And that is dominance-- A nature primarily held by Primeval-class entities, no matter their origins.

How each one chooses to display it, or sometimes, lack thereof, varies. For the younger of these twin brothers in particular, he oft chooses to restrain himself, till he finds the right moment to show it, be it his gallant charisma to boost rays of hope to his loved ones, subjects and allies, or seeping fear into his foes by the crushing air of intimidation. After all, death tends to be what most fear, even if it is what happens after that should be taken more seriously.

And death is as much his element as life is.

A golden light ruins what was likely a peaceful, quiet moment - the Khan Maykr herself deciding to appear.

❮ Kahann, do not be alarmed. ❯ She holds her hands together, carrying herself as she always does. Despite that, a twinge of uncertainty worms its way into her tone. ❮ I hear tales of what you once were - something far greater than you are now. Faint memories from those who came before me. I wish to learn more. ❯

The Primeval's eyes glowed briefly-- An indicator that he was surprised the Khan Maykr would actually visit him. Well, one of them, that is.

Before he got here in Kher Lodur's barracks, he had been tending to the graveyard for ages, but decided to leave when he received distressing telepathy from the Elemental Wraiths themselves. While he had no exact picture of what was going on, it was clear that something would threaten his world and people.

Well, him failing to get out of a Wraith temple there, he was apprehended, most of his belongings taken away, and be made to prove himself in the city's arena-- Something he had succeeded. Why would he be here otherwise?

"The Khan Maykr herself comes to greet who she claims to be a relic of the past? Now innae that a new one." Ah, accent and dialect as thick as could be, with a laid back tone. "Rarely ever do I get visited based on what others hearkened of me-- Let alone in an age where old tales tend to be buried away."

"What gives, my Khan? Why ask whom appears to be a mere foot soldier something he may or may not be as claimed?"

Kahann sighed. "Either way, I can't deny the curious their knowledge, can I? What would ye like to know?"
