A shipkid? On my blog? It's more likely than you think!

Meet Misp! I'm pretty sure some of you can already tell from the name whos kid she is (ahem Visp and Mef ahem)

So she's adopted, later in the plot when the Empire falls because of Nova (long story I promise I'll give you that update one day) there's gonna be LOTS of smeeteries left without maintenance (that'll be taken care of don't worry) and also LOTS of little (future) smeets that will need someone to look after them when they hatch (since the whole robot system is down and generally no one is planning to repair that any time soon) and Radi would take them all in but he's just one guy, so... Yeah, that's what's happening now. Smeets are getting parents. Mef and Visp are going to adopt one WAY in the future I believe, when both of them are actually somewhat emotionally stable. This girl is a little menace to herself by the way, she'll learn to climb sooner than walk or speak and she'll also be incredibly curious, NO survival instinct whatsoever, so we can only wish her parents (one of which has severe anxiety and LOTS of other issues) luck x)

blog schedule

     hey, all! i just wanted to update everyone about my blogs, again, as things change more and more. right now i am in two group rps, one more active than the other, and i am currently taking an indefinite hiatus from my other blog, sailingmen. i do not know if i will get back to it, i may be done with the blog forever, but if i am i will post something there.      i want to focus my creative energies back onto this blog, making more bands and staff alike, and to do that i need to take away the energy i am putting into sailingmen to just do this. therefore, the new schedule is below for those who want to know when i am online/logged in to different blogs.

     blog: leafproductions      dates: sunday-tuesday and thursday      type: multi-muse indie      why: because this blog has more muses, and is where i want to put my creative energy again, this will be the blog i spend the most time on. plus, i am no longer on a sunday-wednesday, thursday-saturday schedule for the sake of keeping my creativity and drive on it’s toes.

Rooftop Dahlia:The Elisa Lam Story

Set in downtown Los Angeles, American Horror Story:Hotel is the story of the Hotel Cortez, a 90-year-old hotel built by serial killer James Patrick March. The Cecil Hotel which was the real life inspiration for that season of AHS.TCH opened in 1924 as a 700-room upper class hotel in a swanky traveling section of downtown, Los Angeles. In it's early years, it had great success as a tourist destination. In the early 1930's the Cecil became known as a budget hotel for traveling salesmen. The Cecil Hotel now renamed Stay On Main has a lengthy history of brutal murders, crimes and strange occurrences. The most recent strange case is that of Elisa Lam. Elisa Lam also known by her Cantonese name Lam Ho Yi was a 21-year-old University of Columbia student from Canada, staying at the Cecil when she was reported missing on January 31,2013. Two weeks Later, the case was going nowhere, the LAPD released a video of Lam. Taken from one of the Hotel's elevator security cameras, the video shows a frightened Lam behaving erratically like she was being perused by someone off camera. It wasn't until hotel guests started to complain about poor water pressure, an odd taste and color of the water coming out of the taps that the mystery of what happened to Elisa Lam was finally answered. On February 19th, while employees were repairing the rooftop water tanks they found Elisa Lam dead and naked floating face up in the tank. Elisa Lam's official cause of death was ruled a drowning. She embarked alone, on what she intended to be a tour of numerous cities on the West coast.Beginning her holiday in San Diego, She visited the zoo and wrote about the city on her blog.,Then continued on, arriving in LA on the 20th of January.There she checked into the Cecil after five days of sightseeing, Elisa was scheduled to check out and continue her journey to Santa Cruz. The last person to report seeing her alive was the manager of a nearby bookstore who described her as "Outgoing, very lively, very friendly,"having come in to buy gifts for her family. Santiago Lopez wasn't expecting to find a dead body when he scaled the rooftop. The complaint about the water pressure prompted him to take the elevator to the 15th floor where he hiked a set of stairs to the roof and then climbed a ladder to reach the ten-foot-tall water tank.The tank was approximately 1/2 to 3/4 full of water.He immediately noticed the hatch was open.Lopez a hotel maintenance employee, detailed this discovery in court documents filed by attorneys for the Cecil.The new declarations, issued by three staff members, are part of the hotel's push to dismiss a trial pursued by Lam's parents, David and Yinna Lam, who live in Vancouver, Canada.The couple sued the hotel in September 2013, alleging negligence led to the wrongful death of their 21-year-old daughter,a trial stated for February. She's drawn comparisons to Elizabeth Short, otherwise known as the Black Dahlia--,perhaps the city's most famous murder victim whose gruesome 1947 death is still unexplained---contrary to popular belief Short never stayed at the Cecil.The Cecil's most famous tenant though was Richard Ramirez aka The Night Stalker. Three days into her stay at the Cecil---the last day she was seen alive---Lam was moved from a hostel-style room to a private one on the same floor after her roommates complained of "odd behavior,"according to a statement attributed to hotel manager, Amy Price in recent court documents. In the declaration, Price stated that the rooftop of the hotel was restricted to hotel guests, and that there are only four ways to access it:Three are via fire escapes on the sides of the building, and the fourth is through a locked rooftop door that sets off an alarm when opened. It's the same door Lopez used his staff key to deactivate the alarm before finding Lam's body. To this day, no one knows how Lam got up there. Lam had bipolar disorder which medical examiners said was a factor contribution to but not an immediate cause of her death. Lam's sister told LAPD detective Wallace Tennelle that Lam had been taking four different kinds of medicine to treat her disorder:wellbutrin,Lamotrigdine,ouetiapine and she couldn't remember the fourth one.No drugs, besides ibuprofen,were found in her system though.There was no evidence of assault, sexual or otherwise. Disturbingly,Elisa's blog remained active for many months after her death. Auto-posting features may explain this away,But Elisa's phone was never found after her death, Suggesting an alternative source of these online updates.

The Kari Motor Speedway is undergoing extensive upgrades that aim to make the Coimbatore track eligible to host Formula 3 (F3) races in the near future. Teaser video reveals extensive changes to the Kari Motor Speedway Yet to complete a number of procedures to be ready to host an F3 race What upgrades will the Kari Motor Speedway get? A staple in the Indian motorsport scene, the Kari Motor Speedway has played host to JK Tyres’ National Racing Championship and even the Volkswagen Ameo Cup in the recent past. However, the circuit has lagged behind when it comes to updating its facilities, especially compared to those offered by India’s other two full-fledged circuits – the Buddh International Circuit and Madras Motor Race Track (MMRT). With COVID-19 putting the brakes on motorsport in India, organisers have decided to give the circuit a much-needed revamp. Speaking to Autocar India, Kari Motor Speedway owner Vijay Kumar said, “The track was built more than 14 years ago, so it needs some amount of repairs and maintenance. So this was the right time to think about it and repair it for the future.” The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) also shared a teaser video which reveals some of the changes, including a wider track and a shorter main straight that is now followed by a sharp left-right chicane. Will the Kari Motor Speedway host F3 races? The teaser video suggests that organisers are preparing the track to host F3 races and perhaps secure a spot on the F3 Asian Championship calendar. However, this isn’t a done deal yet. In order to host these races, the Kari Motor Speedway will have to acquire a Grade 3 licence from the FIA. But the motorsport governing body only issues these licences after careful assessment of the completed track. Every new or upgraded track is studied by the FIA to the finest detail, and once the circuit is built, a thorough verification of its safety level is conducted by an FIA inspector. It is only after this that the licence, signed by FIA President Jean Todt, is issued. Moreover, Kumar has stressed that while the circuit upgrades should be completed by end of this month, he won’t be applying for an FIA licence until COVID-19-related restrictions are eased further. “What is the point of getting a Formula 3 status if you can’t get the Formula 3 cars here? So though the track will be ready by the end of this month, I will not be applying for Formula 3 status till the flights re-start, people start travelling again and sports people feel safe enough to come to India,” he said. Kumar continued, “When all that happens, then I’m going to apply, because applying for an FIA licence is expensive. And then the licence is only for three years; what’s the point of having a licence which you’re not going to use for the next one and a half years?” So the Kari Motor Speedway yet has to complete a number of procedures before it can be ready to host an F3 race. But these changes will definitely give the circuit a much-needed overhaul. BMW tests the new i8 safety car during Formula E in Rome

In 2014, BMW i become the official vehicle partner for the 2014/2015 FIA Formula E championship. For this partnership, BMW has developed a series of Safety, Medical and Emergency Cars, one of which being a BMW i8. Ever since, the BMW i8 Safety Car has been the highlight at every Formula E race, including last weekend’s ePrix in Rome, Italy.

Nearly every year since its inception, the i8 Safety Car has gone through a series of technical revisions, some mandated by the Formula E governing body, while others simply introduced by BMW for testing purposes. First updated version of the BMW i8 Safety Car arrived in 2015 with a tweaked suspension and numerous other enhancements over the road going edition, followed this year by another upgrade.

An obvious difference compared to the standard i8 model, is above all, the wireless charging system championed by Qualcomm.  The “Qualcomm Halo Prototype Technology” inductive charging system uses no cable connections and charges this special BMW i8 Coupe up to 80 percent in just one hour, with a performance of 7.2 kilowatts. To do so, the Safety Car drives over a special bottom plate, which immediately initializes the wireless charging procedure. This saves time and effort, which can be vitally important during races on a Formula E weekend.

Other tech updates introduced in the refreshed i8 Safety Car start with upgraded sports suspension, new wishbones and shock absorbers, which along with a lowering kit of 15 mm, provide enhanced driving dynamics on the track. The previous AP Racing brakes have been removed and replaced by the high-performance carbon ceramic brake system from the M Division with six-piston at the front and four-piston at the rear.

Just like in the M products, the carbon ceramic brakes are lighter which translates into a lower unsprung mass and consequently, better acceleration and handling. Not to forget, with carbon ceramics, you won’t have to worry about the brake dust or corrosion of discs either. So less maintenance for those i8 Safety Cars and increased performance.

Michelin also provides the i8 Safety Car with a series of Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, which are perfect for the track requirements of the safety car. A set of 20 inch ATS racing rims, black, powder-coated (front: 245/35 R20, rear: 285/ 30 R20) are also put to good use.

The revised BMW i8 Safety Car comes with improved cooling through modified air intakes, and with enhanced and additional fans – 850-watt front fan and two additional fans in the engine compartment.

New anti-roll bar bearings are used inside the cabin, as well as new air deflectors and air deflector plate on the underfloor of the car.

The rear wing and rear hatch are still made of carbon fiber, same as the the front splitter.

Inside, we have the sports seats from the BMW M4 GTS, 4-point belt while on top of the car a roof-mounted signal light system.

According to BMW engineers, other small, yet important upgrades have been made to the overall i8 Safety Car package, and the car is expected to evolve year-after-year.

When BMW officially joins Formula E as a factory team in 2019, we expect the i8 Safety Car to go through another revision to properly celebrate the important milestone.
