Another day of work at the library. They say when you do something you love, you never work a day in your life. Well, that wasn’t exactly true. However, Tori was always happy working. Whether it was time to read, or having someone visit, she could always find some enjoyment at work, even if it was tiresome.

As Tori came off of her small break and prepared to take care of some returns, she heard a friendly voice greet her. Turning around to face it, she found an unfamiliar boy. He must have been a visitor- there wasn’t anyone in Kardia Tori didn’t know, and no one had moved there in quite some time.

“H-hello…” she said, returning the greeting in kind. “W-welcome to the library… My name is Tori… c-can I help you?”

She did work here! Pete smiled back. Tori seemed like a timid girl, but she was definitely kind. But... Pete didn't know what to ask for help with! Was he going to make himself look awkward in front of someone he'd just met?!

"Oh, ah, hi, Tori! You sure have a lot of books here." No! It was a library! He was totally off his game. He had to nail this. "Anyways, I just got here, and I just wanted a look around. I haven't read books in... a while, so I was interested! So, got anything awesome?"

Pete blinked. He was surprised she turned away. Maybe she had some deep fascination with the ocean, or maybe he was bad at conversation. Drat! And he really wanted to talk with her, too. Guess you can’t beat something as vast as the ocean when your an uninteresting blank slate like Pete, even if liked to think he was interesting.

But she responded to to him, so maybe she was just shy. He beamed at just the nod. So she lived here? He decided to introduce himself. “I’m Pete, but I tend to go by Dylan. I’m from The Lost Valley!”

Hang on, did The Lost Valley even have an actual name? And could Pete say he was from from there? Oh, well.

Bookworm [Pete&Tori]

On his totally-not-epic journey, our hero, Pete, finds himself in the quaint town of Kardia! Last time on his adventures, he’d visited Trampoli, and Kardia’s townsfolk looked pretty much the same. It was a totally different town, though.

He walked by the library and realized he hadn’t read any books since he started living in The Lost Valley. It might come as a surprise, since he usually came off as the type who hated books, but Pete liked to read. He stumbled in and began to browse. The place was pretty quite and smelled of old books. It was homier than his own house!

He looked up and noticed a girl. Library assistant? He greeted her anyway. “Hi!”

*Pete Bennet had heard about this town from some bar regulars just before he was kicked out yet again for not having no money. Some had called it "the lost valley" and now he knew why: he had no clue where the heck he was going! He also had no clue why it was so cold, must be Canadian. There was a light at the end of the tunnel, only it was more of some guy than a light.* Hey you! The Pete needs a navigator.

Pete was just chillin’ around when someone called out to him. He turned around and it was a generic looking farmer guy! Weird. Did he just refer to himself in third person? (Even weirder, did he say “The Pete?”)

In his totally-not-Canadian accent, he replied, “Huh? A navigator?”

So of course he was lost.

“Uh... “

He scratches the back of his head, and, with a stupefied look, wanders into a town with people he doesn’t recognize. How’d he get here from the wintry valley?

Rosetta grew quite fond of the outdoors. As a child, she was prohibited from going outside. She hardly talked to friends and attended school. As she grew older, her condition got better, which opened a lot of doors for her. Learning about the outside world was something Rosetta was thankful for. She was very grateful to live in the moment as a young, independent woman.

The scene no longer maintained its peace just as a voice called out. An unfamiliar one. It was a compliment nonetheless, but she felt nothing but indifferent towards that. Rosetta turned her head to see a boy, already irritated him. “Excuse me?” She blushed madly. “I hate to break it to you, but you’ve got the wrong person.” Her words didn’t sound so forgiving, but she couldn’t help acting so abrasive. It was almost as if her words meant to say she’d disagree.

The smiling Pete froze at her reaction. She was clearly annoyed at him, and didn’t even think she was pretty. She blushed, though. Was she flattered? Pete knew, like, 3 girls, so he had little experience to base anything off of. Only his intuition. His smile became awkward.

He chuckled and played it off. “No, I meant you!” 

Pete shrugged and took a small step back. “You live in town? It’s pretty!” Got all four seasons and everything.
