i always like to watch the makeovers on america's next top model because i'm a terrible person (and also because i really like hair a lot) and i always get so irritated because there's always at least one girl who gets really upset and everyone acts like she's this terrible person because um

because someone cut her hair without telling her what it's going to look like? and she just has to deal with it? even if it doesn't fit her gender identity/sense of style/personal taste/lowers her self-esteem? and if she gets her hair cut/gets extensions/gets it dyed or whatever and she doesn't like it she's this horrible conceited bitch?

like i don't understand this, i'm sorry 

if someone sat me down in a chair and just started cutting my hair into whatever the hell they wanted it to be without telling me what it will look like or consulting me about it in any way, shape or form and i didn't like it afterwards i'd be fucking devastated, sorry if that makes me a horrible shallow bitch? not only that, if a girl on that show gets her hair cut in a way that she feels makes her look less attractive, it's going to lower her confidence and affect how she performs on the show and she KNOWS THIS  but oh, she didn't like the way total strangers cut her hair without her consent and lowered her self-confidence WHAT A BITCH ?????? i also feels like this really plays into that whole idea that women don't own their bodies but i'm not smart enough to articulate it so i'll just... leave this here i guess  i'm just  why do i watch this i get mad every time but i also really want to see cool hair  i'm so conflicted
