I knew these sleeves would be big but HOLY SLEEVE BATMAN

(Its not even fully floofed here)
I initially gathered them and then realized the cotton just collapsed under its own weight so i added some tuule

It helped to say the least

Added a train, hook? Wtv the wrist strap version is
The actual loop is small and not super visible so that i can detach the wrist strap easy peasy
(Also the trim really blends the front panel into the side panels)

Balayeuse!! I running stitched it into the skirt, so it is easily removable
Other skirt update, added canvas to the hem at the front and sides, the teeny pulling around the waist i might not touch mostly cuz i so not want to unpick the waistband
And i have a pocket!!! It is massive and can fit 4 pairs of scissors with plenty more space for my phone, wallet, keys, and stolen candy
#trim is the last step unless i decide to fix the waistband#:D#sewing#fabric#fashion#dress#dressmaking#historical#historical fashion#history#skirt#1890s#vampire#balayeuse#victorian

HAHAHAHA IT WORKEDDD
Its not pulling anymore and i have more volume in the hem on fhe side >:]

The magic gore

So i shouldve seen this coming based on how freaking wide my side panel is but i think if i add a gore into the side itll ease that tension?
Technically speaking this is not a 1890s skirt pattern but it was giving enough vibes to try it
Plus if i add a gore then ill have more volume at the side hem which im severely lacking

So it REALLY wanted to spread, i cut out some gores that i think will work. This got rid of nearly all the tension points except

here
So ill unpick a little of the waistband and move the skirt up a little, i think that will fix that

Petticoat! (I need to do the closure but wtv
The fabric is very drapey so i sewed a strip of canvas into the hem and it holds its shape a little better!
Ill edit the pattern a little bit to make the front panel narrower so i can gather all the fabric to the back on the final skirt
Next tho, bustle pad

Some terribly drawn reference pictures for a vampire 1890s ball. evening gown and menswear
I have 2 months to make a dress from a decade I've never done before, and try to fake a 1890s menswear suit, because I refuse to learn mens tailoring in that short amount of time
Bf's fit: Tophat, edit a jacket into tail coat, necktie, shirt, detachable collar, edit a waistcoat
My fit: petticoat (might need 2, we'll see), bodice (built on my overbust corset), sleeves, skirt, dust ruffle

Hip bag! I wore my black goth skirt and realized I had NOWHERE to put my phone (i had already shoved my wallet and ear protection in my boots there was no room) so this is to go under my shorter skirts that don't have pockets!
It doesn't exactly make my phone super accessible but at least I have it on me

Bloomers! Honestly I just wanted some and I whipped them up in like, 3-4 hours. Obvi some tweaks will be made if I ever make them again but I am IN LOVE with the waist band omg I'm forever doing that

Bra2
The issue with bra 1 is that I used normal hooks and eyes and they came apart SO easily
For this one I harvested the hardware off of some old dead bras and used the whole closure so it doesn't unlatch on me in the middle of the day

NEW 1870S DRESS (yes I still have to finish handsewing the trim and the bow, sue me)
I rlly wanted to use the patterned fabric i had in my stash and the trim just happened to go really well with it!
I might add some ruffles at the back hem (I'm lying i don't have the patience for that rn) but I'm rlly happy with it!
