#riogallegos is near to Cabo Vírgenes, a beach which plays host to a huge colony of Magellanic penguins. During the summer months from December to February, you can see scores of penguins waddling on the shore. Furthermore, to add to the magic, you’re likely to find yourself completely alone on the beach with these adorable creatures. We did. The winds were whipping and our rental had no justification for being there. The Cunningham Cabin is a double-pen log cabin in Grand Teton National Park in the US state of Wyoming. It was built as a homestead in Jackson Hole  and represents an adaptation of an Appalachian  building form to the West. The cabin was built just south of Spread Creek by John Pierce Cunningham, who arrived in Jackson Hole in 1885 and subsisted as a trapper until he established the Bar Flying U Ranch in 1888. Ring-necked Duck Aythya collaris Although it mixes freely with other diving ducks on large lakes in winter, the Ring-neck is also found on small, tree-lined ponds, and associating with dabbling ducks on shallow waters. A strong and fast flier, it is able to take flight by springing up directly from the water, without the laborious take-off run of most diving ducks.
