Plushie Hoarder

These adorable valentine themed plushies has been released yesterday and I've been doing Terrible Toymaker quests to farm for plush tokens.

Unfortunately I haven't been lucky to get one of the four new plushies. I did manage to get 346 out of the 448 plushies in my plushie collection.

Exploring Santae.net: A Promising Virtual Pet Game

Santae.net is worth a look if you like virtual pet games. This pet adoption site, out of a successful Kickstarter campaign, is currently in it's beta phase. While there’s still a lot to implement, refine and balance, is already fun to play.

I joined in the beginning of januari 2025 and there has been regular updates and events to my surprise. This regular flow of new content keeps things exciting, ensuring there’s always something to explore.

One of my favorite features is the collection, naming, dressing my avatar and quest systems. Not only can you as a player collect items, but each of your pets can also gather their own toys, plants, and other treasures. You can obtain them by it buying in a shop, fishing, gathering, cooking foraging and by playing games.

While the site is fun, I’ve noticed the forums are surprisingly quiet. I'm not a social butterfly by any means, but as I usually lurks in forums for tips and tricks, I found myself disappointed there wasn't any activity—until I realized the whole community activity happens on Discord. It seems I’m getting old.

Pros

Frequent Updates and Events: Regular content keeps the game exciting.

Rewarding Collection System: Both players and their pets can collect items, adding depth and variety.

Mobile-Friendly Design: Works decently on mobile, making it easy to play on the go.

Strong Community on Discord: While the forums are quiet, the active Discord community provides a space to connect and share tips.

Cons

Beta Phase Limitations: Some features still need to be implemented or balanced.

Quiet Forums: Traditional forum users may feel isolated as most activity has migrated to Discord.

Mobile Optimization Could Improve: While it works decently, some interface tweaks could make it smoother.

All in all, Santae is shaping up to be a great place for virtual pet lovers, and while it has a few rough edges to smooth out, it’s already a promising game. I’m excited to see where it goes as more features are added. If you’re into collection-based games with a cozy, pet-focused twist, it’s definitely worth checking out!
