Also, I contributed the interior art for a recent issue of ETC: A Review of General Semantics. This has been a huge honor, as it is a classic journal with many wonderful contributors in its long history. https://shop.generalsemantics.org/products/pdf-version-etc-a-review-of-general-semantics-81-3-copy

This blog might be mostly defunct, but I'm not! I have some visual poems from my novel-in-progress soon to be published in North Dakota Quarterly. Here's the table of contents for the issue that is soon to be in print. If my work is chosen for publication online as well, I'll be sure to post the link. If you follow this blog, I like to think you'd like it.

I sang, played, and recorded this in the summer of 2005, in one take with a very primitive and amateur single-mic recording setup, for my cousin's birthday. He wrote the song a few years prior. Some of the lyrics were messed up because I could not remember them, but he didn't mind. I think it made him happy.
I never recorded myself singing again, but it was a lot of fun, in any case. For the next ten years, I made only instrumental music. And then I stopped making music. Life and art have called in other ways.

Today is apparently the 10th anniversary of this (increasingly silent) blog, and I was feeling a bit in awe of this. A decade feels like both a short time and a long time. So much changes, and so much stays, perhaps only seemingly, the same.

A digital copy of a zine I made in collaboration with Amanda Laughtland, Your World Hangs, back in 2018. It's a tiny work, and I like it more than I remembered.

These poems were written and dedicated to my friend Letitia (whom I later collaborated with on @thebodyproblem) nearly ten years ago, and this was one of the first posts to this blog. Was just reminded of this while perusing my archive looking for something else. And I still like these poems, so I'm reblogging. Forgive the bad quality of the photos (or scans, or whatever I did) of the chapbook. But on the other hand, the lo-fi quality may work for these poems as a visual quality. It seems to match their wintry content. I'm looking forward to winter.

‘Of What Strives’ - a mini-chapbook, dedicated to Letitia Trent. A unique edition of one.

Strongly considering rebooting this Faint Press project, whatever it is. I seem to be at a point (mentally, emotionally, spiritually, physically, etc.) where I can make visual art again while still continuing a writing practice. So hopefully anyone following will start to see some fresh visual works posted here by the end of 2024. I certainly hope so, as it is something that was so rewarding.
