They removed bisexuals from the stonewall monument website. How long until the website is just “stonewall is something that happened. I guess” because they cut every group out.

btw there's nothing wrong with intergenerational friendships and it is in fact super important for teens to have healthy, respectful relationships with the adults in their lives because it will help them more easily identify when an adult is being toxic, manipulative, or otherwise unsavory if they have healthy relationships to go off of.
"A grown ass adult shouldn't have anything in common with a teenager" okay so you're either operating off of an assumption that either teenagers don't have anything of worth to contribute to a conversation, or that adults aren't allowed to have fun hobbies.
I talked to my teenage cousin for like an hour the other day about character motivations and the core themes of one piece and had a blast talking to her! She had some real insightful things to say!
Teenagers are fully realized and complex human beings! You can talk to them about music, books, video games, hobbies, etc. Stop being weird about it

Mozilla, in its finite wisdom, embedded LLM bots into recent versions of Firefox for the vitally-important purpose of… naming tab groups. Now, some users are noticing CPU and power usage spikes caused by a background process called Inference.
Ugh. Reminder again for Firefox users to visit your about:config page, search for the browser.ml.chat.enabled key, and set that to false:
If yours says true then double-click it until it reads false.
Doing that turns off the AI chatbot features in Firefox, but also the stupid new LLM tab-naming feature that's rolling out.

But I wonder if we also ignore illness because of our bias toward agency and control. We would like to imagine that we captain the ships of our lives, that human history is largely the story of human choice. Perhaps this is why rumors have swirled for millennia that Alexander the Great died of poisoning even though he almost certainly died of typhoid or malaria. We simply don’t want a world where even the most powerful emperor can be felled by mere infection.

One of the problems that has always existed in LoZ, and that I think was exacerbated by the wilds era, is this idea that Princess Zelda is this pure, innocent young woman who is naive about the world, who is incapable of doing anything wrong and malicious and who constantly needs to be coddled and shielded by the world. She is the monarch, in some cases the *only* ruling monarch, of the most powerful kingdom in her world. She holds a lot of influence over the people around her, and people obey her without question. She has the incredible power of light at her disposal which can seal away even the most powerful entities of darkness for hundreds of years. The fact that the lore itself downplays the sort of power she wields to position her as this soft feminine figure that is helpless without her hero and that people will go ahead and parrot it in their headcanons feels very...concerning.
#it’s legitimately so funny how people will jump through so many hoops just to deny even the THOUGHT#of Zelda having any sort of agency#like not only is there no evidence of there being any sort of council#aside from like maybe chancellor cole#but not only is that an entirely new government system he’s also like#one guy#but any criticism highlighting the perpetuation of the royal family’s absolute monarchy and the subjugation of the sheikah gets argued with#‘well it could have been a RELATIVE of Zelda’s that did this! Zelda would NEVER!’#as if that changes who raised her and what was taught to her all her life#congrats to the ‘sheikah traitors’ quote for living in my head rent free#the yiga are literally a death cult full of both sheikah and normal people who have been influenced by#again#the cult mentality of this clan#and the solution in age of calamity is to eradicate the entire clan#which Zelda is not only complicit in but is an active participant in!!

sometimes I think I'm putting too many sex scenes into something . and then I look at what's happening in the world and I'm like oh yeah there's a massive puritan shift and censorship wave happening. why on earth am I feeling guilty for writing self indulgent fanfic lmao. I think I will make the characters do it sloppy AGAIN !!!!!

not even JRR Tolkien, who famously developed the concept of the Secondary World and firmly believed that no trace of the Real World should be evoked in the fictional world, was able to remove potatoes from his literature. this is a man who developed whole languages and mythologies for his literary world, who justified its existence in English as a translation* simply because he was so miffed he couldn't get away with making the story fully alien to the real world. and not even he, in extremis, was so cruel as to deny his characters the heavenly potato. could not even conceive a universe devoid of the potato. such is its impact. everyone please take a moment to say thank you to South Americans for developing and cultivating one of earth's finest vegetables. the potato IS all that. literally world-changing food. bless.

Every time I think about the Golden Goddesses and the limited power Hylia had, all that pops up is my personal headcanon/analogy of just.
The Trio booted up the Sims, made their world and their funny little Sims, and then just let the game run.
Majora started fucking around and setting the Sims on fire and removing ladders from the pools and causing every problem, so the Trio tossed them into the hell dimension (Termina) and turned off creative.
And then poor Hylia is left having to clean up the mess AND keep an eye out for any other problems that might happen, and then ANOTHER player shows up and starts fucking shit up, and all she can do is try her darndest to have the Sims do the things she asks and hope and pray things work out, but god knows they never do bECAUSE IT’S THE FUCKING SIMS!!
#if you ever try to ask your sims to do anything you KNOW how bad it often turns out#like you can nudge those things to water but you can’t make em drink#probably the same thing with Hylia and her heroes tbh#does that make any sense?#I hope it does#the legend of zelda#hylia#sure the trio show up every now and again to check on things#sometimes they see the town on fire and send some funny little guys to try to fix the problem#or sometimes they just flood everything and call it a job well done 👍#and then sometimes they find the sim causing problems and give him a gun#you know#for funsies

it is true that 200k/yr isn’t that much money in the grand scheme of things but when youre on tumblr of all places and its full of poor people making a 10th of that if anything at all, I dunno man. I hate to be classplained. Maybe they are the median and us poors are the minority but I wish the middle/upper middle class didn’t define what normalcy and what financial precariousness looked like and I wish the conversation was more centered around people like me. and if you think 200k a year isn’t that much can you imagine then how much the people making significantly less than that are struggling? but people love to just see poor people commiserating and go um actually 200k isn’t that much and then pull the ladder up as they leave with their family on their annual Disney vacation. Awesome.
