sky happened to be both doing something else (trying to read a book on his ipad) and jetlagged (terribly so). he was far from what you'd call well-traveled or adventurous; this was their first time back on an airplane in a long time. still, he tried to smile at the brunette. "oh, yeah, sure," they said. "i'm just, uh..." zoning the fuck out? "loading. i'm loading," he said, deciding on that phrasing. "give me a minute."

🫧             ♡            "   complaints   ...   ?   "    no   way   could   yoona   get   fired   on   a   trip  .    it'd   be   highly   unprofessional  ,    plus   the   paperwork   would   be   hellish   and   nobody   wants   to   spend   their   vacation   doing   that  .    yet   the   fear   of   being   cut   out   on   the   spot   seeped   into   yoona's   bones    &    she   found   herself   laughing   nervously  ,    with   a   thin   line   of   sweat   beginning   to   dampen   her   forehead  .    "   everything's   fine   !   "    she   squeaks  ,    "   there   was   just   a   misunderstanding   at   the   office   the   other   day  .    but   haha   ...   we   really   should   get   going   if   we   want   to   get   some   bikes  ,    i've   heard   they   sell  out   quickly  ,   "    a   little   fib  .    she   doesn't   really   know   if   they   do  ,    but   she   wants   this   conversation   to   be   over   with  .    clearing   her   throat   and   shifting   her   weight   onto   her   other   leg  ,    she   asks   ,    "   are  you  ...   are   you   sure   you   don't   want   anything  ?    i   can   go   get   you   a   water   bottle   for   the   ride  ...   um   ...   please   don't   get   me   fired  .   "    ugh   she   just   wants   to   go   back   to   her   room  ,    fling   herself   dramatically   on   the   bed  ,    kick   her   feet   +   and   cry   into   her   pillows   disney   princess  style  .

"   you   don't   have   to   get   me   anything   ;   i'll   come   with   you   .   "   selena   was   still   suffering   from   jet   lag    herself ,    but   that   wasn't   going   to   stop   her   from   enjoying   the   sun   .   and   while   she   was   content   watching   her   peers   have   fun   ,   it   definitely   wouldn't   hurt   to   join   in   some   activities   ...   right   ?   "   also   ,   i   hadn't   intended   to   discuss   work   ,   but   the   volume   of   complaints   i've   received   about   you   is   quite   concerning   ,   yoona   .   is   everything   okay   ?   "

🫧         ♡       silence   fills   the   space   for   a   moment  ,    yoona's   posture   slumps   &   a   puff   of   air   escapes   from   her   nose  .    she   begins   to   pick   at   her   nails  .    "   well   maybe   i   am   a   little   bossy  ,    but   it's   just   because   i'm   aware   of   how   capable   edge's   staff   are   for   greatness   ...   so   it's   annoying   when   it   falls   short  ,   "      she   grumbles  .   "  and   now   i'm   subjecting   you   to   my   complaints   when   i'm   just   a   photo   editor  .    you're   so   nice   to   listen   to   me   when   i'm   lower   on   the   ladder   than   you   ...   but   my   suggestion   is   that   it   needs   to   be   more   cohesive   to   the   company   image.   when   i   think   of   edge  ,   i   think   of   ...   bold,   modern   styles  !   something   that   screams  look   at   us,   look   at   us  !    you   know  ?   but  ...   what   do   you   think  ?   "

🫧        ♡       seungwoo   feels   a   little   embarrassed   by   the   comparison  ,    evident   by   the   way   his   cheeks   flush   &   he's   now   avoiding   eye   contact  .    suddenly  ,   his   voice   doesn't   carry   as   bravely   as   before   &   there's   a   meek   twinge   to   it  .   does   he   really   sound   like   their   mother   ?    ugh   ..   !!    "   well   ,    your   mother   sounds   like   a   wise   woman   and   you   should   listen   to   her   more   often  ,  "    a   few   beats   pass  ,    as   if   he's   contemplating   (  nagging  )   again  .    but   instead  ,      "   you   were   joking   about   me   sounding   like   your   mom   right   ?   "

❀᭢ —— "you sound like my mom." alexis replied but no doubt about it, he was correct. if they weren't so busy with their head stuck in their phone, they would have caught themselves before crashing into the door. "well you're not wrong there as evident by what happened to me."

🍋   ♡   "   i'm   not   letting   you   leave   without   at   least   half   an   hour   of   rest   ?    going   back   to   your   desk   or   whatever   just   to   stare   at   a   screen   isn't   going   to   help  .  "     honestly  ,    seungwoo   isn't   even   sure   if   he   has   the   right   to   keep   miro  .    but   he's   unable   to   count   the   amount   of   times   this   exact   situation   has   unfolded  ,    where   someone   has   a   migraine  ,    is   allowed   to   go   back   to   working   with   some   water   and   a   pat   on   the   back  ,    only   to   end   up   back   in   the   nurse's   office  ...   but   worse  .    and   seungwoo   will   be   damned   if   his   break   is   interrupted   because   he   let   miro   go  .    "   sit   there   &   drink   some   water  ,    or   lay   on   one   of   the   beds   if   you   prefer  ,   "    seungwoo   makes   a   vague   jesture   to   guide   miro  .

⩇⩇:⩇⩇             ┈             ‘    thank    you    for    your    help—    i    should    be    fine?    ’    sure,    that    was    definitely    convincing.    miro    hated    being    sick    because    that    meant    he'd    have    to    miss    work.    ‘    it's    just    a    migraine,    it'll    go    away    eventually    and    if    it    doesn't    then    i'll    just    come    back    or    go    home.    ’

🍋    ♡    "   well   first   of   all  ,    i   want   to   emphasize   that   it   was   an   accident  .    and   in   retrospect  ,    it   does   make   me   look   really   ...   "    dumb.    it   makes   seungwoo   look   dumb  .    he's   desperately   trying   to   scrape   up   what   little   respect   he   must   have   left   in   eleanor's   eyes  .    with   a   sigh  ,    he   recounts   his   story  .    "   i   needed   to   crush   a   pill   up  ,    but   i   couldn't   find   anything  .    so   i   took   it   back   to   my   desk   and   used   a   small   hammer  .      but   i   didn't   realize   i   was   doing   all   of   this   on   top   of   my   laptop   and—   "    seungwoo's   gaze   shifts   pathetically   to   the   pieces   of   his   computer   laying   scattered   across   the   desk.

“  i'm sorry, you did what to your computer? ” eleanor questioned, trying and failing to hold back any judgement. her tone of voice was laced with complete and utter disbelief, as if she'd never heard of such a thing.
