It’s been a hot minute.

Catchup:

Wife quit her job in Toledo.

I spent Feb and March in Texas, mostly in Dripping Springs.

We sold the OH house.

My wife spent the last two weeks moving the OH house to the MI house.

Most of it is here, some big stuff we put in storage.

I just unpacked my first box from OH, after purging my closet of clothes that are now way too big and/or just don’t wear anymore.

I now have too many socks.

Well, my time in OH is coming to an end.

We’ll try and rent out the house here, for the 2022 year, unless real estate here takes off.

Still probably going to sell off the Texas house next year, probably. Depending on a few things, might keep it one more year, but real estate is crazy down there, so feeling like a good reason to cash out.

Short of it all, we moved here for my wife’s new job, but after two really long and increasingly tough years, she decided she wants to spend more time with us, arguably with Cello.

Regardless, she’s been working a lot, and we miss her. I’ll shed no tears on going back to Texas, even if only for a bit, and we both love our place in Michigan.

Not dead

Just been busy, so honestly Tumblr just dropped off my daily routine.

It’s summer, me and the kid are in Michigan. 

He’s 6, a walking, talking (never stops talking), little human.

My wife is coming up on the weekends, I am out here in the Office Shed when I can be (like when he is at Grandma’s or at the moment while he is with my Mom up in the house).

He goes to camp next week, day camp, so that will be interesting.

Wallpaper is the devil.

The half bath in this new house has a ton of it. Not looking forward to the remodel.

Experimental breakfast for the first day of the year: almond orange French toast with almond extract instead of vanilla, unsweetened almond milk and orange zest. I only had blood oranges but it worked out well. A+

Absolutely loved this show.

Chess isn’t always competitive. Chess can also be beautiful. It was the board I noticed first. It’s an entire world of just 64 squares. I feel safe in it. I can control it. I can dominate it. And it’s predictable, so if I get hurt, I only have myself to blame.
