Unpopular Personal Opinion/Rant (#2):

*** SPOILERS BELOW - REFERENCE SOME DELETED SCENES***

Season 2 Colin admires Pens rubies (her necklace you perv):

This one I would love to see. If they gave us that scene any Polin fan that says they wouldn’t have spent the following 2 years talking/joking about Colin checking out Pens boobs is 100% lying.

“Teach Me” / “It Has Only Ever Been Us”:

I feel like the “Teach me” line/dialog makes sense to be cut. Colin’s dream happens after The Kiss, after Pen has told him she has basically given up looking for a husband, it’s why The Kiss happens. It makes no sense for Colin, someone who actually listens to what Pen has to say, to then have a dream about her asking for another lesson. Him having a dream where she confess that he occupies her every thought thus reassuring dream!Colin that his feelings are reciprocated feels more on brand for Colin as he starts realizing he has feelings for her.

Colin saying “it’s has only ever been us” I personally think would have just created more confusion and division for the average Bridgerton audience. When Colin truly realized how deeply he loves Pen and that he may loose her he takes action - immediately. Him having a dream with that type of realization in it that early on doesn’t align with him then waiting a week to talk to her again and then even longer before telling her how he feels (Also I think the line would have been more romantic if he said “it’s has only ever been you.” not ‘us’. So in general I don’t consider it to be a big loss, haha.).

Ambrosia at the Gentleman’s Club:

This scene adds nothing to the story. We know Colin likes to be the hero from season 1 & 2. We know Colin losses all interest in other women after he falls for Pen because of the second brothel scene. We already know Fifi is a jerk. This scene is nothing more than a romance jump scare “Will our leading man cheat? Tune in next week to find out!” .

The chat between Pen and Gen:

I think people say they want this but in reality, at the time, it would have been viewed as another secondary character taking time away from Polins direct storyline. I think learning more about Gens character would be great, but that is a conversation that can easily be had between Gen and Pen over tea when Polin are not in the middle of a very serious fight. The scene being cut takes nothing away from the main plot of season 3.

Unpopular Personal Opinion/Rant (#1):

There will always be things cut from a show (or movie). Always. It comes with the territory. If they released a cut of the show with every single second of footage that was filmed the show would likely suffer for it.

Some things work well in a book or script but don’t translate well on screen. Sometimes a time limit needs to be met so a moment or line it is cut because ultimately the heart of the story does not lose anything when the moment/line is missing. Sometimes things are cut because it doesn’t move the story forward, it doesn’t serve the character. Sometimes things are cut because they believe the line or moment would create frustration or confusion for the audience.

Cut scenes/lines are a completely normal part of making a show. Getting so angry over it is a waste of time. You can of course wish the lines had been kept but don’t turn this into a knock down drag out.

When they said no Polin scenes were cut they didn’t mean the show wasn’t being edited. They meant they didn’t film a Polin scene that was then completely 100% cut out of the show without being replaced by a reshoot of some kind.

Do not fall back to that time when there was a ridiculous (sorry, but it was) petition demanding the “unreleased sex scene be released” when no such scene existed.

You can be sad a moment or line was missed from the show without reverting to extremes.

Season 4 hasn’t even finished filming yet. Just…stop. Your negative talk and angry speculations are old AND you’re clogging up all the tags with this shit.

Some of you need to manage your expectations for season 4 cause you didn’t manage them for season 3 and it shows.
