Seeing an amazingly written fic like this that explores asexuality, something I rarely see in fics, so deeply makes my asexual heart soar! Highly recommend to any sex repulsed ace Marvel/Druig fans!!
Dandelion Wine
Dandelion Wine 🌼
Summary: A bad confrontation at Sersi and Ikaris’s wedding has the female Eternal feel more alone about her thoughts and what love truly means. She didn’t think Druig would be mixed in the process too.
Tumblr media
WC: 4,424 words
A/N: This chapter has some angst and some fluff mixed in!This is a part one, since I wrote but pretty big I wanted to break it up into two parts.
This work also has the subject of Asexuality, and if I do offend someone in this work PLEASE MESSAAGE ME AND LET ME KNOW! I writing this as an Asexual myself and how I personally feel, and although I know every person’s journey is not the same, I still don’t wish to offend!
————————
Gupta Empire 400 AD
“Hold on, Kingo!  I need a break, please!” You said in a gasp and chuckle.  Kingo stopped spinning you on the floor where you were dancing, surrounded by the citizens in the city as another song was erupting in the massive room.  Kingo only laughed as you were trying to catch your breath.
“We’re only getting started!” Kingo teased you as you tolled your eyes and moved your hair from your eyes.  You clasped him on the shoulder, taking a few long breaths before I pointed to the quiet corner near the entrance to the hall.
“I’m catching my breath.  Go find Makkari to dance with you,” You hummed to him, seeing him nod his head as you were walking away.
“She’s too fast for me!” Kingo called out to you as you were weaving through the crowd of humans.  It was still early in the night, the reception of Sersi and Ikaris’s wedding was the biggest party of the month as it felt like every human there in the city was in attendance.  The Eternals were the guests of honor, just lime before with any other party the humans threw for you all, but Sersi and Ikaris were the main guests of honor.  They both were already off on their own, enjoying their time alone together.  It left the rest of the Eternal to mingle and celebrate amongst the humans.
You were clad in a deep orange Sari to match your Armor, feeling it swish in the wind as you were gliding and maneuvering through the crowded bodies to finally reach the small opening and corner of the room.  There were only a few humans there, too engrossed in their conversation as you approached.  Once they saw you coming, they mostly scattered.  You finally had enough room to breathe and get some air, sighing in relief as you leaned against a pillar.  Your eyes scanned the room, seeing the happiness seeping out everywhere and your Eternal brothers and sisters mingling around.
Thena was shaping war stories with some humans, all of whom were watching in awe and fascination as Gilgamesh was off to the side and gazing at her with a massive grin on his face.  Makkari found her way onto the dance floor with Kingo, gaining from ear to ear as she was swaying at a much faster tempo than Kingo.  Ajak was walking out the doors with a somber-looking Sprite, talking to her in a hushed and nurturing tone with an arm around Sprite’s shoulders.  Phastos was nowhere to be seen, having you wonder if he made his way back to the Domo right after the ceremony to keep working on one of his inventions.
He was never one for a party anywho.
Out of the corner of your eye, your gaze not leaving the dance floor, you saw a human man walking over in your direction with a looseness in his walk and a massive cup on his hand.  You were remaining calm, but something inside of you was making you feel on edge about how this human was approaching you.  Maybe it was your instincts and gut, or perhaps it was how he seemed so fearless in how he was approached an Eternal, but it felt like this was not going to be some easy conversation.
“What does one do to have the honor of being in the company of an Eternal?” The man asked, his voice sounding a bit slurred in a way as he was grinning at you.  You remained calm and collected, not looking at him and still watching the crowd of people in front of you dance with one another.  He seemed cocky thinking that he had enough confidence to talk to you and get away with it.

The Last Brownie
Pairing: Platonic!Thor x Reader
WC: 510
Request - Anon: I am loving the prompt list you just shared. Could I maybe get something platonic with Thor using the prompts 9 and 7?
7. “I hate you sometimes.”
9. “You betrayed me. I can’t believe you right now.” “I just ate the last brownie!”
Warnings: food
A/N: Sorry this is so short, but I hope you like it!
Tumblr media
As 3am hit, it was time for Y/N’s plan to spring into action. Okay, maybe that was overdramatising it a little bit, but they might as well make it a little more fun.
They cautiously crept past everyone’s rooms to the kitchen and immediately opened the fridge, eyes scanning for the nicest thing to devour, though there was nothing interesting. You would think that if you lived in a house with a billionaire there would be so much to eat, but apparently not.
It was okay though, because Y/N had prepared a plan B: the ‘secret stash’. Someone, and Y/N wasn’t sure who, kept a secret stash of treats in one of the vents, though it wasn’t exactly a secret now that Y/N knew about it. They assumed it was Clint’s or Peter’s, both of which they liked and didn’t want to be mean to, so whenever they took something from there, they put one back later once they got a new one. It meant more work on their part, but they didn’t really mind.
Unfortunately, the stash was also rather barren, meaning either someone else had been there or whoever owned the stash had a real sweet goth recently. In fact, there was only one thing left, if you didn’t count the crumbs: a brownie. The final brownie in a batch, it seemed.
Y/N was plunged into moral purgatory - did they do the right thing and leave it to the owner, or satiate their sweet tooth? After a couple of minutes, Y/N finally thought ‘fuck it’ and took it. That isn’t to say they were heartless though, they planned on baking a new batch for whoever owned the others. And maybe Y/N would sneak a few of them.
Y/N crept out of the vent with the brownie and headed to the main room to try and find a pen and paper to write a note. Their plan skewed though once they realised someone else was up. And could see them with the stolen goods.
“Hey Thor. What’s up?” Y/N asked gingerly.
“Y/N… is that what I think it is…” the God asked, disappointed.
“That depends on what you think it is,” Y/N said, extremely unconfidently.
“… you betrayed me. I can’t believe you right now.”
“I just took the last brownie! Wait, is that your stash?!”
“No, I’m the God of Thunder, I don’t need such a piteous hiding space as a vent.”
“So you have no right to complain, you take things from whoever’s this is too!”
“I have every right! You stole the last brownie!” “Calm down, I’m gonna make a new batch.”
“You’ve betrayed my trust already tonight, how won’t again?”
Y/N started spluttering, trying to defend themself, when they saw a smile emerge on Thor’s face and they realised he had been messing with them. They signed. “Y’know, I hate you sometimes.”
Thor laughed and patted Y/N on the head. “No you don’t, young one. Now let’s go and bake some brownies.”

Winky ❄️
Pairing: Steve Harrington x Reader
WC: 1.6k
AU: Soulmate AU - whatever you draw/write on your skin shows up on your soulmate's.
Warnings: I finished this when sleep deprived and it is unedited, mentions of food
A/N: Hi all! Sorry for my absence, I promise you I am still alive, though I do sadly have Covid right now. Despite all this, I have decided to try and pull myself together to give you this! I can't promise it's great, but it’s something. I didn’t finish this when I meant to so it’s a few hours late for Christmas, but happy Christmas to everyone who celebrates it! To everyone else, I hope you have a happy holiday and a well deserved break!
Tumblr media
To many, the holiday season was a great time of year, with Christmas fairs filled with what could barely be called rides and only the steaming, expensive cocoa to warm up your hands as everyone’s warm breath steamed up the air. Not to mention the grand meals and all the presents. That wasn’t exactly the case in Hawkins, Indiana. People still gave presents and such, but no one really made a big fuss otherwise, with very few houses decorating their exterior.
Y/N’s house was one of them. It wasn’t that their family loved Christmas or celebrated it religiously, it was just because it was always something they had done where they came from. It did make them stand out a bit more though. Needless to say, the mixture of this detail and Hawkins being a small town made it quite obvious that the Y/L/N’s were new to Hawkins. And that fascinated Steve Harrington.
What fascinated him more, however, by the seemingly mindless scrawlings that had been appearing on his arm, mostly his wrists and hands. They weren’t new, just more common now. Steve wondered what had been the cause, though he wasn’t complaining. This carried on until Christmas day, when he decided to change this.
Steve sat in his room, staring at a new doodle on his inner wrist of a snowman winking, and he couldn’t help but wonder if it was specifically meant for him or if his soulmate had forgotten that he could see their doodles. After about 10 minutes of contemplation, Steve saw a Sharpie out of the corner of his eye and knew what he had to do, so he grabbed it, uncapped the lid and held it in his mouth as he wrote: ‘Merry Christmas! I hope you have a good Christmas. Or Hanukkah. Or I guess just Happy Holidays in general if you don’t celebrate either.’ on his inner forearm, before quickly adding ‘P.S. nice snowman :)’
Steve recapped the sharpie and stared at his message, willing for a response. When he didn’t get one within a few minutes, he started rationalising why in his head. Maybe they were busy. Or maybe they just didn’t want to talk to him. Or they had just had a bad day and weren’t in the mood for conversation in general. No matter the reason, he couldn’t seem to calm himself, just in case something had happened to his soulmate, but he didn’t want to seem desperate: he was Steve Harrington, he wasn’t desperate.
All fear washed away when he saw writing appear on his other arm. ‘Happy Holidays to you too :) P.S. thank you, his name is Winky.’
Steve didn’t hesitate to write back: ‘Winky, hey? I bet he’s no cuter than you.’
Another response shortly followed: ‘You’re too sweet. That reminds me, sorry for all the doodles, I just moved to a new place so I’m very bored.’
‘What, like a whole new place? State and everything?’
‘Yup. I know absolutely no one here and school hasn’t restarted yet, not that it’d be easy to make friends in senior year anyway.’
‘That sounds like the worst Christmas present ever.’
‘Oh yeah. I gotta go but I’ll make you another doodle later.’
‘Promise?’
‘Of course.’
By the end of the conversation, Steve was grinning like an idiot. That was, until he saw the time, at which he yelled a curse word, grabbed a jacket and sprinted to his car, which he started and drove as quickly as he legally could to Dustin’s house.
“You’re late,” stated a cold, agitated Dustin, who had been waiting on the porch.
“Yeah well I got preoccupied. Why were you waiting out here anyway?”
“It was either this or listen to my mom talk about some gross thing Tews did again,” Dustin said with a shiver, though Steve was unsure if it was from the bitter wind or the thoughts of the boy’s mom’s stories. The older boy shook his head and chuckled slightly, before hearing something to his right, causing the boys to look over, only to see one of the town’s new residents who had moved in next door taking out the trash.
“Hey Y/N,” Dustin greeted.
“Hey Dustin,” they replied, sending the two boys a polite smile before starting to head back inside, pulling their jacket tightly around them in an attempt to hold in warmth.
“I’m Steve,” he awkwardly interjected, making Y/N stop and give him an amused smile. After a few seconds, he added: “Welcome to Hawkins.” Y/N nodded a thanks and headed inside, whilst Dustin stared at the doofus next to him.
“You lost all your game, Harrington.”
“Shut up,” an embarrassed Steve muttered, ruffling the boy’s hair as he walked past him and into Dustin’s house. Dustin groaned, fixed his hair and followed.
Meanwhile, Y/N hung out in their kitchen, snacking on some chocolate and watching their mum finish baking some brownies.
“Y’know, you could’ve made these yesterday and still have given them to the neighbours today. Brownies don’t go out of date in one day,” Y/N remarked.
“Yes, but they’re better fresh like this. Besides, you know your dad would eat them before they had even cooled down if given the chance, it’s a good thing that he’s asleep right now, which reminds me: would you mind delivering these? My back’s been hurting again and I’m so tired.”
“Sure.”
And that was how Y/N ended up on the Hendersons’ doorstep. After they knocked, they could hear some discussion from inside, presumably agreeing who should get the door, until eventually, Steve from earlier opened it, and it was clear that whoever he was expecting to see, it was not Y/N.
“Uh, Steve, right?”
“Um… yeah.”
“You don’t sound too sure,” Y/N teased, making him chuckle a little nervously.
“Right… do you want me to get Dustin? Or Mrs. Henderson?”
“Oh no, it’s fine. I just came to deliver these brownies. Little Christmas gift from the Y/S/Ns. Or just… a holiday gift if they don’t celebrate Christmas.”
“Well on behalf of the Hendersons, thank you, I can guarantee they will go down well.”
“My mom will be glad to hear it,” Y/N said, holding out the box for Steve to take. When he reached out to take it, Y/N caught a glimpse of all the doodles and writings on his now exposed arm. They couldn’t see all the writing and thought it too personal to want to read, but all the doodles seemed extremely familiar, because they looked exactly like the ones they had doodled. “I like the drawings,” they commented, not wanting to mention anything too personal.
“Hm? Oh, those were my soulmate. They doodle a lot.”
“I get that, I do the same. Kinda feel bad for mine because of it.”
“I love the drawings. Especially one I got today. It was a snowman winking.” Oh.
“Did you give it a name?”
“My soulmate did, called him Winky.” If it wasn’t already obvious enough, that was the final puzzle piece Y/N needed to know that they had met their soulmate.
“I love that. Well it was nice to properly meet you, Steve, but I have to get back home. I’ll see you around,” they said with a smile, trying not to show Steve that their brain was going into overdrive with this information.
“See ya,” Steve said, closing the door, immediately frowning once he couldn’t see Y/N anymore. Steve may have been an idiot, but he wasn’t dumb, he knew something was up.
“Who was it?” Dustin yelled from his room.
“Y/N, they brought brownies their mom baked,” Steve yelled back, heading back to Dustin.
“I know who my favourite neighbours are now,” Dustin commented, practically drooling at the thought of brownies, until he saw the thoughtful look on Steve’s face. “Oh no, you’re thinking, that’s never good.”
“Y/N was acting weird. They saw my soulmate’s doodles and then… I don’t know, maybe I’m just overthinking it.”
“Okay, we’ll if you’re not overthinking it and you’re right, I can think of 3 possible reasons that involve you. 1. they’re your soulmate, 2. they thought you were attractive and then became painfully aware that relationships that aren’t with your soulmate in the end game are kind of futile, or 3. they just thought you were creepy and wanted to get away from you.”
“Was that last one supposed to cheer me up?”
“Just telling you my theories.” Steve sighed.
“Just take the brownies.”
When holding them out, Steve and Dustin both noticed something appearing on the older boy’s upper arm and turned all their attention to watching what was forming. It was a gingerbread man and a message (Steve was holding his breath the whole time it was written): ‘Enjoy the brownies :)’. The two had already frozen, but if they hadn’t, they definitely would have at that moment.
“Holy shit,” Dustin muttered. “Why are you still here? Your soulmate is literally next door! Go!” And so Steve did. He practically threw the brownies at Dustin and failed several times at putting his jacket on as he ran outside, his arm constantly missing the sleeve. He only stopped running when he realised that he would have to knock on their door and possibly meet one of their parents already, and he didn’t really want to do that right now.
“Cold feet?” asked a familiar voice from behind him.
“Y/N,” he breathed, turning to face them.
“I told you I’d make you another doodle.” A large and genuine smile made its way to Steve’s face, one that Y/N’s copied.
“Then thank you for my favourite Christmas present.”

I Promise
Pairing: BBC Merlin x Reader
WC: 2.2k
Request: @mythandmagik : Hello lovely! Could you do 1 and 3 from your prompt list with Merlin from BBC Merlin?
1- “Why didn’t you say goodbye?”
3. “I couldn’t stop thinking about you.”
Warnings: angst, Merlin isn’t actually in it a huge amount but I hope you can forgive me
A/N: I'm sorry this took so long but I hope you enjoy it!
Tumblr media
Y/N could remember leaving Camelot like it was yesterday. Granted, it was, it just felt like it was much longer ago.
“Are you sure this is a good idea?” Gwen asked her friend, watching them mount their horse.
“Absolutely not. But I have to go,” Y/N replied with a sigh.
“Will you ever come back? I don’t know if Merlin could cope if you didn’t.”
“I don’t know, Gwen. Speaking of Merlin, can you give him this once I’ve gone? Please?” Y/N asked, pulling out an enveloped letter from their small bag and holding it out to Gwen.
“Of course,” she responded, carefully taking the letter. “Final goodbye?”
“Only goodbye.”
“You didn’t tell him?” Gwen asked in shock, trying to make eye contact with the horse rider who was staring at their horse’s mane.
“I couldn’t. I tried, I really did, but I couldn’t.”
Gwen nodded in understanding. “I’ll wait a bit then so he can’t follow you, Lord knows he would otherwise,” she pointed out with a chuckle. “Even if you didn’t tell him, he’d look.”
“Thank you, Gwen. You really have been the dearest friend to me, I don’t know how I could ever repay you.”
“Just send me a letter every once in a while, let me know you’re okay.”
“I will, I promise. Goodbye, Gwen. Please pass on my goodbyes to everyone else too. Good luck with everything.” And with the two servants sending each other mutual, sad smiles, Y/N was off.
God, Y/N already missed Camelot. Granted, it may just be because they hadn’t seen another person since they started travelling and only had a horse for company, as well as no bed, but the point still stood. Maybe once they got to Solagria and settled down everything would be alright.
—————
It turned out that once they got to Solagria, it wouldn’t get much better. It wasn’t that life wasn’t good there because it was: Y/N had a great time working for the royal family there and could perform magic freely, but they greatly missed everyone at Camelot. Especially Merlin. Mainly Merlin, in fact. Besides, it wasn’t like Merlin could come and see Y/N, first of all, he was busy saving Arthur’s ass, second, Y/N didn’t tell him where they were going. They knew that, despite everything, he would drop everything to see them.
“What’s wrong, Y/N? You look like a kicked puppy,” Marlowe, another servant, asked.
“I’m just… thinking.”
“If you were just thinking, you wouldn’t be so sad. You can tell me.”
“I just miss someone, that's all.”
“Family? Or a special someone?” she said, wiggling her eyebrows suggestively.
“We… never made anything official. I shouldn’t be so hung up on it.”
“You’ve been here for 6 months, Y/N, and you never tell us anything about your old life, all we know is that you’re from Camelot and you haven’t visited since you came here. We all know you want to.”
“Is it that obvious?”
“Painfully,” she said with a giggle, though Y/N only returned the laugh with a sigh.
“I can’t go back. If I do, I don’t know if I’ll come back, and I can’t stay in Camelot.”
“Have you written to anyone there?”
“Yeah, my friend Gwen.”
“Any interesting news?”
“Nothing out of the ordinary for Camelot, no,” Y/N said with a smile.
“You’ll tell me to shut up, but that’s the biggest smile I’ve seen you have since you got here.”
“Shut up…” Y/N mumbled, causing Marlowe to laugh more.
“Y/N, Princess Idony has summoned you,” then called one of the Princess’ handmaidens, interrupting the current conversation, though Y/N was not complaining. They were, however, fairly shocked, though complied and followed the handmaiden to the throne room.
Once inside, Y/N politely greeted the Princess. “How may I help you, your majesty.”
“Please, drop the formalities, call me Idony. It has come to my attention that you are from Camelot?”
“Yes, y- Idony.”
“Then I assume you are aware of the ball they are holding?”
“I am.”
“Will you accompany me on the journey then? I understand that it is a rather unorthodox request, though none of my handmaidens or other staff have ever visited and it would be rather useful to have a guide, and you would be able to see your loved ones.”
“I would be honoured.”
“Thank you. I will have someone give you the details later. You are dismissed.”
The second Y/N left the throne room, Marlowe bombarded them with questions. “Did you get fired? Banished? Did she promote you? Ask for your hand in marriage?”
“Lower your expectations, Marlowe. I’m accompanying her to Camelot next week.”
“Wow, isn’t that a coincidence? We were just talking about that. What a funny little world.”
“Are you implying that you had something to do with this?” Marlowe’s only response was to tap her nose knowingly, earning a scoff from Y/N.
“Do you think you’ll come back after?” Marlowe asked, a lot more earnestly.
“I have to try to force myself.”
—————
This was it. Camelot. After several days of travelling, Y/N was back.
“Is it as you remember it to be?” Idony asked sincerely.
“Not a twig has changed,” Y/N said proudly.
“Do you want to say hi to everyone? I’m sure we can find our way to the castle from here,” Idony offered.
“Are you sure? I don’t mind showing you the way.”
“I insist. I’ll make sure there’s someone to take your horse. Just make sure you’re not too long.” And with that, Idony and the rest of her servants headed towards the castle. Immediately, Y/N headed towards Gwen’s house. They had no idea if she was home, but just in case.
However, instead of Gwen, Y/N stumbled upon Gaius, looking for people to try and heal. “Y’know, they have some pretty unique healing techniques in Solagria. I could show you sometime.” At the sound of the familiar voice, Gaius turned around and smiled.
“It’s good to see you again, Y/N.”
“You too, Gaius,” said Y/N, climbing off their horse and embracing the old man. “How’ve you been?”
“Same old, trying to keep Merlin out of trouble.”
“I don’t envy you then,” teased the servant.
“Have you said hello to him yet?”
“No, I literally just got into Camelot.”
“What’s the special occasion?”
“I work for Princess Idony of Solagria now and I’m the only one to have come to Camelot before so she asked me to be her guide.”
“Please tell her I hope she has a wonderful visit then. It was nice seeing you, Y/N, but I have to do some work. I’ll see you later.”
“Bye Gaius!”
After departing from their conversation with Gaius, Y/N knocked on Gwen’s house’s door. They weren’t sure what they were expecting, but they were met with no response, meaning they had nowhere left to go but the castle, so they mounted their horse and sauntered over as slowly as possible. It wasn’t that they didn’t want to see everyone, it was that they were scared of how he - Merlin - would react. After all, they left without a word and then never contacted him in six months.
Eventually, they reached the castle, immediately went to the stable, and formulated a plan. Merlin would be wherever Arthur was, so they just needed to avoid Arthur. How? Y/N had no idea. Besides, facing Merlin was inevitable with the ball coming up. They would just have to try to put it off for as long as possible.
“Y/N?!” came an excited, very familiar feminine voice.
“Gwen!” The two ran to each other immediately and gave each other a huge hug. “I missed you so much.”
“So did I. I loved the letters, but they weren’t anything like our real life conversations. Speaking of which, why didn’t you tell me you were coming?!” Gwen asked, playfully hitting her friend.
“I only found out last week, I was asked to come as the Princess’ guide.”
“That sounds so nice.”
“It was a nice break, yes.”
“So… have you seen him yet?”
“Who?” Y/N asked, pretending to be clueless.
Gwen rolled her eyes. “Don’t play dumb with me, you know I mean Merlin.”
“No, no I’ve only seen Gaius. Do you know where Merlin is though?”
“Probably with Arthur, greeting the Princess.”
“Ah, right. That means I can avoid him a bit longer.”
“You have to face him eventually.”
“I know, but for now, could I just say hi to Morgana?”
“Of course, she’ll be thrilled to see you.”
—————
It had been a few days now since Y/N’s arrival back in Camelot, and so far, they had been surprisingly successful in avoiding Merlin. That being said, it was also the day of the ball. And Y/N had no idea if Merlin knew about their whereabouts. Arthur knew, as Morgana had told him, and the two had a rather nice, though brief, reunion, though whether or not he told Merlin was a mystery. On one hand, he may have, because Arthur’s a little bitch like that sometimes. On the other, he might have wanted to see Merlin’s reaction at the ball, because, again, he’s a little bitch sometimes.
“You still haven’t talked to him, have you?” Gwen asked.
Y/N shook their head, embarrassed. “Haven’t even seen him. I don’t know what to say anyway.”
“Just explain, I’m sure he has questions.”
“Right. I better go, I have to get ready for the ball.”
“I’ll see you there.”
—————
It turns out that balls are a lot less glamorous when you’re a servant. You don’t get the grand entrances or extravagant costumes, only to watch. At this point Merlin was unphased though, with the amount he had to watch from afar. However, something just felt different about this one, and Merlin just couldn’t put his finger on it. It wasn’t the fact that they were much blander without Y/N there to make fun of them with him, no, he had also gotten used to that now. Just as he was trying to figure it out, Arthur broke him from his thoughts.
“You’re thinking, I don’t like it when you think. Is this about Y/N again?”
“I don’t know… something’s just different.”
“Okay, so the answer is yes.”
“I think about other things, Arthur.”
“No you don’t. You don’t know, do you?” Arthur asked, amused.
“Don’t know what?” Instead of replying, Arthur put his hand on Merlin’s head and turned it to look at Y/N. Merlin immediately felt his heart jump, and then again when he and Y/N locked eyes. The two stood staring at each other for a good 30 seconds, before Arthur pushed Merlin to tell him to go over. Merlin glanced at the man who pushed him and saw the amused look on his face.
“Shut up,” Merlin mumbled, walking away from Arthur and towards his estranged… whatever they were.
“Hi Merlin,” Y/N meekly greeted.
“I- I can’t believe you’re really here.”
“Me neither, honestly,” they admitted, chuckling nervously.
The two kind of just stood in another stunned silence until Merlin spoke up once more: “Why didn’t you say goodbye? You just disappeared, and then weeks later Gwen gave me a really vague letter that was supposedly from you. So why could you tell her and not me?”
“Because you’re different, Merlin. Saying goodbye was much too hard, and I am not a brave person. It wasn’t that I never wanted to talk to you again, it was that I couldn’t stop thinking about you. If I talked to you again, I knew I would want to stay here. With you.”
“But why did you even have to leave?! All of this would have been avoided then!”
“I didn’t have a choice, Camelot was no longer safe for me!” Y/N slapped a hand over their mouth, silencing themself before they could spill anymore than they already had.
“I could protect you though, Y/N,” Merlin argued passively, his hands resting on Y/N’s upper arms.
“You already have someone you need to protect. Your focus needs to be on him. For our people.”
“What do you mean?”
“Our people: magic users,” Y/N whispered, and that reveal of Y/N’s secret made something click in Merlin’s brain: Y/N had to leave because they were scared of their magic being revealed. Merlin quickly grabbed Y/N’s hand and led them to a quiet spot where no one could hear them.
“You have magic too?” Merlin asked in awe.
“Yes. I managed to hide it mostly, but it was getting stronger and I couldn’t safely contain it here anymore. I had to go, and it killed me inside, because it meant I had to leave everyone. I had to leave you.”
“It’s okay. Now that I know you don’t hate me, we can write to each other. And I’ll come visit you whenever Arthur lets me. I’m not letting you go again, Y/N,” promised Merlin, moving a hand to cup Y/N’s cheek, damp from crying slightly. The two stared into each other’s misty eyes and slowly moved closer together until their foreheads were touching, when Merlin finally fully leaned in and kissed Y/N gently.
“We’ll make it, I promise."

Stepping through the portal you had created for yourself, you smiled at the three faces staring back at you from the room on the other side.
“Sorry I’m late.” You apologized, stepping into the quaint, book-filled room.
“Traffic?” Wong asked rhetorically, gesturing to the portal that showed your bedroom still open on the other side behind you.
“You know,” You said, closing the portal and turning back to him. “At least one of us stays for longer than two seconds.”

Glitter
Pairing: Loki Laufeyson x Reader
WC: 714
Request: 8 & 10 with Stark reader and Loki 😻
8. “Are you making fun of me?”
10. “How old are you again?”
A/N: Here is the first of the requests from the prompt list! Sorry it’s so short but I hope you all enjoy it anyway!
Warnings: profanity
Tumblr media
Loki needed help. To any observer, that was obvious at this stage, though he was too stubborn to seek any. For context, Loki had been trying and failing to wrap a present for the best part of an hour. Due to the stubborn God’s struggle, his room was covered in scraps of tape and discarded wrapping paper. However, and this was the worst of all, most of the glitter from these pieces of wrapping paper had fallen off, leaving huge random patches all over Loki’s bed.
Eventually, Loki reached his breaking point and hurled a roll of tape at the wall with a scream of frustration. That was it, he was never partaking in stupid Midguardian traditions again, and if someone wanted a gift, they would have to deal with it being left unwrapped.
Unfortunately for him though, his cry had earned him some unwanted attention from the person in the next room over, who angrily rolled their eyes and stormed into his room without knocking.
“Loki! For the last time, if you’re gonna do target practice, go to the…” Y/N trailed off, seeing the dumpster of glitter and wrapping paper accumulated in the room. Before they could open their mouth to speak again, Loki moved towards them and attempted to force them out of the room.
“Go. Now,” he spat. “Or you will feel my wrath.”
“I think you need help more than you need me to leave right now,” Y/N fired back, earning a glare.
“I do not need help, Stark. Besides, I doubt you’ve ever done any of your own work a day in your life.”
“Just because I’m rich doesn’t mean I can’t do simple tasks.”
“It’s a trivial task. It’s a waste of paper and is destroying your environment with every sheet you use, and what, only so someone can feign happiness? It’s pathetic.”
“Sounds like you’re just upset that you can’t do it.”
“Are you making fun of me?”
“That depends, remind me, how old are you again?”
“Old enough to know that your Midguardian traditions are stupid.”
“My God Loki, stop being stubborn and just ask for help!”
“I’m not being stubborn, only pointing out the truth!” With an eye roll, Y/N pushed past Loki and moved in front of the gift to be wrapped. “What are you doing?”
“What does it look like, smartass? I’m helping you. Now shut the fuck up for one second and watch.”
“Don’t patronise me,” Loki demanded, though reluctantly complied and watched as Y/N walked him through it.
“What’s this for anyway? It’s a bit early to wrap Christmas presents.”
“That is none of your business.”
“No, but just humour me. It’s the least you could do after I wrapped it for you.” Loki crossed his arms over his chest and glared at Y/N slightly.
“Fine. It’s a thank you to Thor. I owe him a debt and I need to clear it.”
“And you think giving him a set of cutlery in a box will do that?”
“It’s a lesson: he should learn to use them and not eat like a pig.” Y/N snorted with laughter slightly, and though he wouldn’t admit it to anyone, Loki felt a little proud of making the Stark laugh.
“It is quite bad.”
“If you think it’s bad now, you should have seen him back on Asgard, before Jane had actually managed to teach him any table manners.”
“I mean you could always recreate it so that I get a visual idea. With you as Thor, of course.”
“Do not play with me, Midguardian. If you play with fire, you’ll get burnt.”
“Is this the same fire that couldn’t wrap a simple box?” Loki grimaced in response and moved right in front of Y/N, who had a smug smirk plastered on their face.
“Choose your next words wisely,” he said, leaning close to them in an attempt to appear menacing.
“You’re cute when you try to be scary,” Y/N replied, booping the other on the nose and leaving the room, whilst the God of Mischief was left standing speechless, still surrounded by pools of glitter. “Oh, and good luck cleaning all this up,” teased Y/N, popping their head back through the door before leaving again.

Prompt list:
Just send in requests with the name of the character you want and the numbers! Please read my request rules first! These can be platonic or romantic!
“Why didn’t you say goodbye?”
“Are you listening to that damn song again?”
“I couldn’t stop thinking about you.”
“Are you reciting ABBA lyrics to me?”
“Sorry, am I interrupting something?”
“What do I get if I help you?”
“I hate you sometimes.”
“Are you making fun of me?”
“You betrayed me. I can’t believe you right now.” “I just ate the last brownie!”
“How old are you again?”
“Might kill God just to feel something.”
“Are you busy right now?” “Yes, I’m binging the Great British Bake Off.”
“Sometimes I wonder what the hell goes on in your brain.”
“I’m sorry, you did what?”
“Marriage is a scam.” “We’re literally married.”
“That’s a bit dark, even for you."
“This is why no one plays board games with you.”
“Oh, woe is you, you want attention and no one’s giving it to you.”
“I love when you talk like a dork.”
“Fine, you can choose what colour I dye my hair.”
