DiMa: Nick, I know all of this must be hard to understand but please...another time.

DiMa: You have a place here, Nick. If you want to stay...

Nick: I- *sigh* I appreciate the offer, DiMa, but I got a whole life on the Mainland. An agency to run. A secretary to pay. I can't just leave that all behind.

Nick: DiMa! Listen, I've been thinking it over and...and I think that us? Being brothers? I think I want to try and make it work.

DiMa: Oh, Nick, really? You have no idea how happy that makes me!

Nick: yeah, yeah, just...be patient with me, okay? This is a hell of a lot to process.

DiMa: So, the Commonwealth...how is it?

Nick: Still dangerous. Still cruel. But thanks to my friend here, I think it's finally starting to heal itself.

Dima: The institute is really gone then? We don't have to hide anymore?

Nick: Well, you don't have to hide from the Institute at least. But the damage they made is done. Lots of people are still scared of synths, still want us dead. But hey, we just gotta keep kickin.

DiMa: So you really...have no memories of me at all?

Nick: I have no memories of your name, or your face, but...but seeing you here right now, I can at least remember that I, uh...that I love you.

Excluding Dogmeat, Strong, and Codsworth. For Curie, X6-88, Nick, and Danse, I'm using mental age rather than physical/literal.

Piper: 26 - born 2261

Preston: 21 - born 2266

Deacon: 38 - born 2249

Cait: 26 - born 2261

Curie: 30 - if she were human, she would've been born 2257

MacCready: 22 - born 2265

Nick Valentine: 58 - 'original' Nick would've been born in 2019, and I headcanon that synth Nick escaped from the Institute around 20 years ago in 2267

Paladin Danse: 34 - if he were human, we would've been born 2263

X6-88: 34 - same as Danse, if he were human, born 2263

Hancock: 40 - originally born McDonough in 2247, and I headcanon that he was 'reborn' as Hancock in 2272, and became a ghoul in 2277

Fo4 Companion sexuality headcanons!

No one asked for this nor does anyone probably care, but I care, so I post. For like, obvious reasons im excluding Dogmeat, Strong, and Codsworth, and including some gender headcanons for a couple characters

Paladin Danse: biromantic asexual. I don't think he'd mind doing stuff if his partner wanted but he definitely isn't going to bring it up himself. HOWEVER, any nice/romantic thing he's given or said to him and he'll get all flustered and stuttery. I love him, I just want people to he nice to him.

Nick Valentine: Gay. I know human!Nick had a wife or whatever but l i s t e n,,,,Nicks whole thing is him realizing he's his own person and not a echoing copy of someone else, let him be old and gay.

MacCready: Bi and trans. He's also not white. I don't have an explanation for him being trans and not white other than im trans and not white and I like him.

Piper: Lesbian. MacCready please stop asking for an interview its useless, you know it's useless, just shut up.

Hancock: Pan. He's down for whoever whenever wherever. (as long as theres full consent of course)

Caite: She has strong lesbian energies and YES I'm saying this because she has the type of personality that I, another lesbian, wish I had. She's dating Piper don't @ me

Deacon: he/she/they/just Deacon genderfluid and bisexual babeyyy. I had him as my companion for a bit and he made the "yknow I was a girl for a couple months" comment and I lost my m i n d. We stan.

Curie: she/they agender and lesbian! She doesn't really see a point in identifying as any gender just because she has a human body now but girls,,,,girls good

Preston: Gay. He's gay for Sturges specifically. They're in love don't @ me

X6-88: they/them nonbinary and aroace. They've got important things to do. They don't want a romantic relationship, they just wanna do their job and take care of their cats.

I really wish Bethesda had put new dialogue for Danse to say whenever you ask for his thoughts post Blind Betrayal. As much as Danse is loyal to the brotherhood, they betrayed him, and it would've been nice for even a slight change in dialogue like

"Despite what they've done to me I still believe the Brotherhood is what's best for the Commonwealth."

"I can't imagine what the others must think of me now...especially Rhys."

"I know it must be hard for you traveling with me and also being part of the Brotherhood, but it means a lot to me."

"Everything I know...my childhood...my name...none of it is really mine, huh?"

And! Other companion swap dialogue when swaping with Nick, Curie, and maybe Hancock and Deacon too.

Danse: Detective Valentine, I've been, uh, meaning to apologize to you for my past comments. They were unnecessary and...rude.

Nick: Hey, don't sweat it. If it makes you feel better, you got one other bot here who knows what its like havin' you're entire world swung upside down. Remind me to tell you about Far Harbor sometime.

Curie: Paladin Danse, it amazes me how quickly you've processed everything about your true identity so quickly! However, if you ever need to talk please know I am fully programmed to help talk through emotional trauma.

Danse: ...Thanks Curie, I'll keep that in mind.

Hancock: aw, what is is soldier boy? We ain't best friends yet?

Danse: Though I'm working through my prejudice against ghouls, I'm starting to think my dislike of you might be for different reasons.

Danse: Did I pass through the Railroad before I...before I had my mind wiped?

Deacon: Sorry to disappoint, but the Railroad doesn't keep records of all the synths we come by, dangerous for obvious reason. But hey, I'll ask around, see if you ring any bells.
