mama wanda 🫶🏻

The rain pitter pattered against the window like a lullaby, soft and steady. Wanda sat on the couch with her favourite book in her lap, glasses slipping slightly down her nose, encouraging her to scrunch it up in an adorable manner to try and keep them up.

From the hallway came a shuffle, your bare feet, moving across the wooden floor. You’re wandering towards the room, wrapped in Wanda’s oversized hoodie, that you adore because of how massive it is on you. Wanda can instantly see that your eyes are glassy as you stand in the doorway almost resembling a lost child.

Wanda didn’t say a word, instantly forgetting the book and opening her arms for you.

“Oh, my sweet girl,” she murmured as your hoodie drowned form scrambled into her lap, curling up to her.

“I’ve got you,” she whispered, rubbing circles onto your back, with one hand as the other she used to comb gently through your hair, carefully tucking your head under her chin, allowing you to breathe in the scent of her, making you feel safe. She hears the faintest mumble of “mama” from you, she would’ve missed it if you weren’t so close to her.

“You only call me that when you need holding, hm?” Wanda said softly, a smile evident in her voice.

She gets a tiny nod in response from you, “you make me feel safe, n look after me.”

Wanda kissed your forehead, letting her lips linger against your skin. “Mama’s always here for her sweet angel.”
