Honestly as a very-not-ace person stuff like this reassures me, because my sex drive *is* absurd and inefficient, and being reminded that it's not a choice on my part actually does make me feel better about it.

Honestly I should talk about the ace experience more. I don’t see enough. Like–obviously it’s dehumanizing to be repeatedly compared to robots or aliens but uh…sometimes it feels like that?? 

My husband will get all horny while I’m, I don’t know, changing out of sweaty gardening clothes. And I’ll be like, “But we have to make lunch?? I stink? Now is not a good time?? This is why it's always weird to me when people describe actual relationships as "like siblings". I have no idea what that means! I have a sibling (and have a perfectly pleasant, if not super close, relationship with her) but the distinguishing feature of it is that it was <em>nonconsensual</em>. We didn't pick each other, we couldn't escape each other growing up, and we have ties as adults that we can't easily drop. There is literally no other relationship in my life that has this feature.

Honestly, what does sibling coding actually MEAN?  Ignore the misuse of coding for a second.  You tell me they are sibling coded and I learn absolutely nothing about their relationship

If they are friends and get along too well, they are sibling coded.   If they bicker/fight, they are sibling coded.  Clearly resent each other over something? Ya guessed it sibling coded.

Maybe the reason there is no consistant set of ‘sibling coded behavior’ is because IRL siblings can have any relationship dynamic.
