H2O: Just Add Fathers
When Cleo, Rikki, and Emma go missing on Mako Island, their fathers (Donald, Neil, and Terry) all join the rescue effort. While the Water Police parole the perimeter, the dads go on foot across the island to search for them, and wind up discovering the Moon Pool themselves. While the girls get rescued without incident, the dads find themselves under the light of the full moon and wake up mermen the next day. Now the three of them have to navigate their lives as adults with jobs and families while keeping this secret.
Match Cleo’s job at the water park with Don’s fishing, Emma’s slumber party with Neil’s business retreats, and Terry would probably use his powers like Rikki does in Mako Mermaids to find treasure and other ways to make money.
I like to think Season 2 would replace Charlotte with Zane’s dad Harrison (maybe his father was Karl?). It’s sad we never got to meet Bella’s parents in Season 3.

going just a little insane about the don't forget theme being revealed as part of a hymn… its heavy presence in the church dark world after being mostly absent from chapters 2 and 3… the way the 'guiding light' leitmotif that ties chapter 1 together ends up being a worship song… the way kris used to play the piano at church… the way they take back control of their body to play on the organ… noelle and her Angel symbolism…
'don't forget' is more than just a source of comfort and a 'you can always come home when things get bad,' it's the manifestation of god's love and glory protecting you from the darkness, it's being told you can come back to god's light and trust you will be safe

you know it genuinely makes me really sad that gerson's dead because imagine if susie had that kind of mentorship and support in real life? it breaks my heart that susie can't go back into the light world and meet up with him for tea and work on her self-confidence and have an adult that not only really understands her but has also experienced the dark world with her. imagine if she could have a real life adult validate her heroics and how much she's grown. imagine if she had someone in her life pushing her to do better not because they're disappointed in the way she currently is but because they know she's capable of it?
