AGHHH yay I love these two frfr. I really wanted to do something sunlight related because of their similar tan patterns, but I looked a little into their Archie interactions and decided that this was probably the better idea :3 Rocky Jungle is actually a zone within(?) the comics! It's where Sonic and Mighty first reunited and where Mighty helped to keep Sonic in check when he went into his werehog form. They're so cute <3

DAY 33: Crimson Bounty

Interesting pairing! These two are actually pretty cute together despite how often they've scrapped and fought throughout separate comic runs. This one was pretty cut and dry, based off Knuckles' red fur and Fang's bounty hunter status.

DAY 31 : SPICY CANDY TRIO

This is solely based off their colours and attitudes towards one another. The original idea was for it to be cotton candy trio, however none of these three exactly give cotton when you think about it for longer than 10 seconds. They all have a certain temper about them, Amy is hot-headed, Sonic is sassy, and Shadow's just standoffish. And for the second part, in some ways (Especially with Sonic and Amy) they're sorta childish. So I decided to choose something associated with that. Along with their blue/pink/black colour scheme, colours that are commonly associated with different candy flavours. (Licorice, blueberry, cherry, etc)

They should rename the diamond cutters to the skittle squad. Given Jewel formerly was a gemstone keeper before becoming the head of the restoration, I tapped into my supreme knowledge of gemstones. A rose quartz often symbolizes healing, love and affection. It's nice to think that if she could, it'd be a gift Jewel would hand out to her loved ones.

Honestly, I would've just gone with rose quartz for the name. But I fear this would end up in the clutches of confused SU fans.

I don't have much of an explanation for this one, I jsut think they'd be a very peaceful couple, and given Tikal is eternally within the Master Emerald, I thought this'd make sense.

Mighty is one of the only characters to get an outfit redo from his classic form into his Archie attire. To this, I like to imagine that Honey—being a fashionista—would’ve been absolutely devastated to see the downgrade he went through /joking. Honey and Mighty are lowkey girlboss/malewife couple goals though.

DAY 27: TRICKERY TRINITY

This was literally just me testing the synonyms I know for “lies” and “trio”. BUT the name is in reference to the bad guys comics, where Starline deliberately tricks Mimic and Zavok, to which they soon find out and backfire against Starline with a lie of their own. Neat! Toxic yaoi.

DAY 26: PAWN SWEEPING

AHH!!! What a fun villain pairing! I like these two now :). I wanted to emphasize the king/pawn relationship between them, how Clutch sees Mimic as just something to use, and when finished, to be “swept under the rug”. Of course, it’s also a reference to Clutch’s business, Clean Sweep INC. Very lovely!

DAY 25: DAWNS MERCY

The pairing between Shadow the Hedgehog and Amy rose

This is actually based on a canon interaction! Shadow and Amy’s meeting on the Ark was a pivotal character development for both of them. Amy taught Shadow to know mercy, and to untwist his view on Maria’s wishes, while Shadow provided insight into his mind which helped Amy understand him better.

Dawn symbolizes new beginnings, something these two found with each other, alongside a newfound appreciation for life and mercy.

Aaaa I'm so sorry I had this in my drafts and completely forgot about it thank you for the shadamy ask it really made my life easy ^_^

OKAY HEAR ME OUT. This one is a stretch and I'm reaching. But Mighty, as a strictly classic character, is quite literally physically a relic of the past. Shadow is a modern character, but his mind is stuck in the past because of what happened with Maria.

Rust is a physical property that occurs when something ages physically, ruin happens when someone ages mentally. Eh? Eh?? Funny business. And side note, in some depictions alike in Archie, Mighty's shell appears rustic. Just thought id throw that into the barrel.

Much like my former analysis with Sonilver, I'd imagine with Silver it's difficult to hold a relationship with someone exclusively stuck in the past. That's why with this one I also similarly wanted to pay homage to the non-permanence and instability Silver would likely feel. I really did try to look for interactions since they were both in Archie but that was a whole lot of red herrings and empty wiki links. So take this simple synopsis ^_^

Thanks for the emojis, you really gave me a hand on this one! This kinda gives "I can fix her" "I can make him worse" vibes and thats kinda funny. What a fun pairing! Err anyways, I think I've used boulder as a pretense for Mighty so I'm not gonna go into much detail, but buzz is a word often alluding to a shock or electricity of some sort. :')

This is kinda ironic. The first thing Sonic said to Barry was asking for a chili dog and I remember that VIVIDLY. Note aside, ah yes!! The nervous joe x oblivious gigachad! My favourite ship trope! Name was quite literally a mix of chili dog and the mirage express, where the game is set. Simple dimple.

DAY 20: SUNGOLD

The pairing between Tikal the Echidna and Espio the Chameleon

The Echidna tribe was always something enigmatic to me, drawing parallels to cultures of our world they reminded me quite a bit of the ancient Aztecs, who worshipped the sun. So with Espio's yellow horn and eyes, sounds like he'd be a gift from the sun itself.

Another way of saying the ship is "Sung old", which is in referral to Tikal and her life being from a bygone era, a slice of time that could take quite the detective to uncover its secrets ;).

DAY 19: CORK BRAWL

Okay! We’re getting into the classics now. (Unless you intended for this to be the Archie versions). The name for these two kinda just came to me like an epiphany where my brain went “hehe Fang has a funny gun”.

But for the ACTUAL explanation, Cork Brawl is a slight nod to Sonic Fighters, the game Fang had his debut in, and with Mighty being an all-powerful but peaceful fighter I thought it just made sense :). The cork part was a reference to the corks Fang uses to load his gun, but also to the cork colour/shape on Mighty’s chest.

Thank you anon I was waiting for these two. I couldn't resist bringing up both their king era's in Archie, since I guess KP just loved making his men into monarchs. I wanted something that ties them together, and what better than trauma!
