Journey of First Time Supporting Actor
In 2014 I become part of my parents first ever indie film titled “Lapis Ballpen at Diploma” it is my first time to hold this role, my parents entitled me this because they want me to experience of what life they have since I was a child. Honestly I don’t have any idea or experience to hold this role that time, they just teach me a few instructions and they start rolling the camera. That time the main artist we have is Mr Buboy Villar. At first I feel so nervous and chilled but thanks to Buboy he don’t leave me at the middle of the scene and teach me also a few tricks about how can I handle my confidence and how to memorize my script, I also learned to make an adlib if I forgot my exact line at the middle of recording it helps me a lot and lessen my takes per role. day by day I don’t seen that I actually enjoying my work as a supporting actor that time it is fun and enjoyable when we need to find another location after the shoot I love travel and bonding with the actors of our film I also appreciate the hard work of my parents, they ignore the exhaustion just to run and finish a day after the shoot. I’ve watch a lot of movie before like Harry Potter, Lord of the rings and a lot of shoot in the past years of my existence but I never and I’m always clueless on how they make it. And now I experience it I learned that it is hard and enjoyable even though a lot of stress are bursting to production site, sometimes we need to cry for a dialogue because it is a requirement of our next shoot, I try it like crazy and I always laugh at myself because it doesn’t fit to my personality and to my face every time I faced the mirror. At the prod I also see how those camera behind the scene are made of, how they set up the lights so its still morning at the scene even its already midnight at the set. Those big and bright lights and the artistic way of production team to set up that scene is magnificent, in terms of shooting it takes a lot of time and effort just to create a film it is important to make sure that the quality of the film we made will take by audience and watch it. well it is an honor to become part of this amazing kind of work it build up my experience so when it comes to film I can use it and make it easier for us to think what idea can we make just like our short film this last grading. Hopefully someday Filipino films will rise again to our Philippine cinemas and those script writers will make a good story to watch just like our own true to life journey movie.
