I use the em dash excessively and know all the keyboard shortcuts to type it fluidly without missing a beat. I also know where it is on my phone keypad, so can very easily choose from a longpress on the hyphen key, and it takes no time at all.

i'm kind of obsessed with the implications of the phrase "picked clean" to be honest. the idea that you can be clean again by stripping away every trace of flesh and blood; that you can be made new and perfect, free of the stain of your own material existence, by being reduced to nothing but the parts of you that cannot be consumed. and all you have to do is let yourself be destroyed completely. all you have to do is die.
