Currently working on another post for stuff surrounding Khan's drone type and how it affects Uzi in my AU. And of course the Bismuth-12 post.

Last Dance

The night had been mostly standard for a coloney dance. Socializing, dancing, and endless book signing. It's their last dance before graduating and moving on.

"Let's hear it for our prom queen!"

V and Lizzy were standing off to the side, watching the crown being placed on the head of a pretty dissasembly. Lizzy glanced over to V, reading her expression. V was watching the stage, tail swaying with a look of remembrance.

"...I'm sorry, I don't think I ever got to say that"

V turned her head down, looking at Lizzy. She sighed and looked back up at the stage where the prom queen was giving a superficial speech before walking off the stage.

"It's fine, I really don't care about it anymore"

V was tapping her arm with a claw, leaning back against the wall. Lizzy kept her eyes on the group of drones forming. An idea comes to mind, and she waves to V.

"I'm gonna go congratulate the queen, brb"

"I'll be here"

Lizzy made her way towards the group of gathering students. V watched with a forced look of boredom. She watched as Lizzy approached the queen with an enthusiastic 'Hey girl! Picture to celebrate?' The two leaning in for a selfie. Lizzy's hand sneaked up, and suddenly, the crown was snatched.

"Wha-LIZZY!"

Lizzy dashed away from the group, dodging past the other gathered students. Voices of annoyance and some of respect. V unfolded her arms, pushing off the wall as Lizzy approached her at a fast pace. Before V could open her mouth to speak, the crown was dropped on her head. Lizzy takes a few steps back and snaps a photo with her phone, posting it quickly with the caption 'all hail the true prom queen' with a grin.

"Hey, give that back!"

Lizzy glanced back at the approaching angry drone. Her hand shot out and grabbed Vs.

"That's our que to run earth girl"

She took off at a sprint, dragging V along behind her. V barely had time to react, being pulled along as she was. A grin grew across her face. Lizzy felt herself being picked up in V's arms.

"You're too slow, I got this"

She knocked the doors open with her back, waving to the angry approaching students. V then turned on her feet and ran down the hall. Lizzy's hands wrapped around V's neck for a better hold. The two of them laugh as they make their great escape.

He's gonna be my reference for a 'standard dissasembly' on bismuth-12. An all-rounder model.

That's 100% an inspiration! It's a very great one, too. But for me personally, the things that planted the idea was when I watched movies like Mary poppins and who framed Rodger rabbit

Then later on the amazing world of gumball

Varying styles/methods have always been super interesting to me because of them! And (in my opinion) it makes things soo visually interesting and makes the personality of every character much funner to pick out.

I've always enjoyed the idea of showing the differences of personality through the art style of characters. It's also pretty good practice when you're drawing them side by side. Plus, any excuse to bust out the invader zim style is a good one. Meanwhile, Lizzy has a much more standard half chibi style that fits the vibe more.

I may draw the other characters like this in the future. Maybe J has a more elegent/papery look while someone like V has a scratchier/comic style. N for sure is getting a softer water color look. I may do his by redrawing the 'famous' cat hold pose. Khan could have a more industrial style look and Nori I'm undecided on as of now.

After things have settled down, khan is thinking of trying to find the old Rangers station. But Uzi isn't letting him go alone with no backup. Who knows what's hanging around out there.

I've been working on these on and off. I dunno how often/if I'll update it much. But I always enjoy experimenting with comics. plus, it's an excuse to actually try and actually draw backgrounds. If I do move forward with it, there will be a lot of style experimenting in its future.

Early morning memories

I like to think with this headcannon, Uzi WAS once a daddy's girl. When she was very young. Dressing similarly to how he did in winter gear. Then, after Nori's passing, the two of them grew steadily more distance. With Uzi being dis illusioned with khan in his time of questioning whether or not he can actually protect the coloney and the drones within. Of course, this loops back around once Nori returns and starts telling their stories more openly. And the two of them can actually bond the way they hadn't in a long time. (Side note I need new pencils. Half of them died on this piece LMAO)

I speed ran a messy redesign of khan based on my last post. Well, redesign/what he could have been like in his younger years when he was still on duty.

Larger arms and hands with clawed tips to make climbing, hiking, and hauling easier. In this head canon, he's pretty damn strong. Having to often haul gear and people should the need arrive. Him and his crew of fellow search and rescue drones were the main ones getting drones to safety during the breakdown of humanity. Of course, finding Nori and bringing her along. Before he was Doorman, those who were evacuated called him polar bear Khan. Eventually, him and Nori become a dynamite duo.

I like to think that the reason Nori was in a position to even get attacked by the dissasemblies was because her and khan were out rescuing stragglers. Drones that stayed on the surface before the dissasemblies arrived.

Side note I just thought of : thanks to his white eye colorizing, it would be so sick if, back in the day, he was known by something like 'polar bear' khan.

So I was thinking while drawing (dangerous, I know)

In this picture, it is presumably taken very soon after the whole event that went down. Khan is already dressed like he regularly goes out into the wilderness and snow. And since I like the idea of there being more drone types than just the 'assembly' type, I purpose this.

I think khan is much stronger than he thinks, being a search and rescue drone. I also think this because of the way he himself acts in this same episode. Being much more ready for action than he has been most of the series. He's obviously had experience in this kind of environment and undertaking. Very quickly giving orders to Lizzy and Thad.

I believe that in the early days him and Nori would have been quite the duo to behold. Both establishing the doors and, in my mind, the coloney as a whole. When he lost Nori to the dissasemblies, his confidence in his ability and strength likely plummeted. Relying heavily on the doors Nori wanted him to build, to the point it became somewhat of an obsession. This results in his flight choice when Uzi is first attacked by N in the coloney entrance. Something he regrets deeply after.

After Nori returns, I believe that this confidence would slowly rebuild itself. Nori reminded him of their former exploits and how they used to tango in fights. Giving anecdotes and stories that Khan himself either repressed or didn't bring up because of how guilty he felt for not being able to save her. In conclusion? I think Khan has one hell of a sleeper bear build that he never truly uses due to a prior lack of confidence in that ability.

Nori herself even somewhat forgets how strong he actually is. And Uzi sure as hell wasn't very aware, seeing him as someone who chose to hide instead of fight. When in reality, he's someone who could arm wrestle a dissasembly easy.
