Synastry, Composite and Davison Edition
The synastry chart represents the chemistry between two individuals and composite is the relationship itself and how its perceived. In my personal opinion a good composite trumps difficult synastry as
how the energies manifest in synastry is totally dependent on ones individual chart.
And composite is somewhat a description of how the synastry contributes to the relationship.
Though synastry does show how difficult composite can be dealt with.
(my sun moon opposition is really showing lmao😩🙈)
While reading a synastry and composite chart most important are your dominant energies and aspects to those planets. Important and repeated themes in the relationship can be seen through common aspects in synastry and composite.
If you have a certain planetary energy prominent in your chart harsh aspects to that planet in composite would be easier to deal with.
For example I have very well aspected Pluto so when I see harsh aspects to Pluto in a composite or synastry it doesn’t seem to affect me as negatively or have a huge impact as it might for another person.
Also, credits to @neptunianfae for giving me some insight on few aspects and overlays!! 💕
Synastry overlays
{based on whole sign system}
⭐ Moon in 8h synastry - OVERSHARING from the moment you meet especially on the 8h person’s part! The 8h person feels like they can trust the moon person with everything, it’s a very subconscious knowing.
☀️ moon in 3rd synastry is so beautiful and works so well in any relationship but i love seeing it in friendships!! the moon person would make 3rd house person feel so comfortable talking about how they feel and give them that validation they might need. they would literally never run out of things to talk about. The moon person sees the 3rd house person as extremely understanding and super fun too!
🌙 In 6h synastry the planet person will accept the house person in every way. They would accept every insecurity and every quirk. It can also make the planet person act nervous or be overly neurotic around the house person. The house person cares DEEPLY about the planet person. They LOVEE SPENDING TIME WITH EACHOTHER they type of couple that would just love to coexist… ✨Domestic bliss✨
⭐ Having someone’s Venus/Jupiter in your 8h can make the planet person want to share their resources with you even if it’s not something they’d do in general. They might even go out of their way to share things with you that they’d never share with anyone else. The sun person can also bring out 9h person’s beliefs and make them think about it more. These 2 could also talk a lot about higher education and making plans together to just have fun.
☀️ Sun in 9h synastry can show two people who’d bond over their belief systems and things they have been taught to believe. They love having deep philosophical conversations.
🌙 mars in 6h synastry can make the mars person want to ‘perform’ well for the 6h person they can also be very nervous about it at first. The 6h person finds it extremely endearing🥺🥺
⭐ I love seeing MC aspects and overlays. It’s honestly so charming and encouraging! The house person can seriously benefit from these. Having a lot of positive aspects to MC, angles conjunct MC and Pluto conjunct MC can make the house person really transform their identity in the world, can bring about necessary changes and an abundance of opportunities in the 10h person’s life.
☀️ 1st house synastry can be so superficial if not backed up by water triplicity (4h, 8h and 12h) as the nature of water is to reflect and can be felt both ways. (Moon in 1h being an exception)
🌙 4h synastry is so precious the planet person changes your definition of home and it’s sweet and comfortable. I call it comfortable silence overlay lmao.
Aspects in synastry and composite
⭐Venus square/ opposite saturn in synastry shows that venus PERCEIVES saturn to be cold and harsh but he need not be like that. Venus seems to take criticism coming from saturn more seriously than from anyone else. Here venus needs to learn to be less defensive and realise saturn only wants what’s best for venus and saturn needs to learn to convey his concerns and criticism in a less judgemental and critical way.
This contact can also bring about a lot of anxiousness insecurities and fear of losing one another especially on Saturn’s part. The saturn person has to be secure within themselves to keep the dynamic healthy as eventually saturn can get restrictive. This is where mercury comes in XD but I’ll get to that in a bit.
Any planetary contact to saturn in synastry represents karma so harsh aspects to saturn can also indicate the two might find it difficult to come together as a couple due to external circumstances. Letting go here is extremely difficult as saturn is literally super glue.
{ As I have mentioned above our own natal charts have to be considered in this. An Aquarius/Capricorn moon/venus can handle saturn synastry comparatively better than any other sign as their ruler itself is saturn. Someone with Saturn’s aspects to venus in natal chart would even find this synastry comfortable.}
☀️saturn opposite or square venus in composite though represents a theme of pining and not being able to give or be given the kind of affection one wants. both REALLY want it to work and give that affection but it just gets blocked or is difficult. In composite it’s not about the relationship forming that is the issue but it’s the meeting and spending time together which is scarce.
🌙 sun opposite/square saturn in composite can show difficulty in a relationship forming. Oppositions can show external influences not allowing them whereas squares can show conflict of interest. Sun conjunct saturn though do tend to come together as a couple but after a long period of time.
⭐ sun square/opposite saturn in synastry shows clashing of egos but also companionship and reliability. They both know they would always be there for eachother even though they might not always agree with eachother.
{ Queue my rant about mercury being underrated and Neptune being shat on 😤 }
A well aspected mercury is very important in both composite and synastry!!! Squares can only be handelled with patience and communication. it kinda sucks to not see mercury get the attention it deserves in synastry. i would take difficult saturn synastry over difficult mercury synastry ANYDAY. harmonious aspects to mercury make the other difficult aspects easier since you are COMMUNICATING YOUR ISSUES and the tension felt in the relationship. And square contacts specifically require conscious effort which isnt achievable without clear communication.
Neptune shows idealisation, illusion, deception etc but it’s also dreaminess, mercy and compassion and you NEED a certain amount of idealisation and a LOT of forgiveness to make any relationship work. The only thing in MY opinion that can mellow down Saturn’s harshness is Neptune’s compassion and mercury’s wit.
☀️ Moon and venus shows your needs and wants (moon- needs, venus - wants) so having both the planets well aspected can show both your needs and wants being met.
🌙 The house/house cusp your composite chart ruler falls in shows under what circumstances or setting the two people met.
1st house ruler in 4h gemini almost in the 5h and 12h aquarius - met at a small house party in the neighborhood invited by friends with alcohol/substances involved XD
⭐ Moon mercury and moon moon synastry is so wholesome!! Mercury person can’t shut up around the moon person 😂 and moon moon is just so easy and relaxed where you just know the other person gets you.
☀️ Pisces rising in composite is the couple that EVERYONE WAS ROOTING FOR LMAO
🌙sun in virgo in composite chart can show putting in a lot of work and being very patient to make the relationship work or to come together.
⭐ with a lot of 12th house emphasis in synastry and composite you can see that the two individuals have an unbreakable bond they love to be around eachother and when they are together its like no one exists🥺 a lot of spiritual conversations here too!!
🌙 saturn aspects are extremely important with uranus aspects in Composite to ground round a relationship and for longevity. honestly, such a boon with uranian aspects. And Uranus aspects add electricity and fun to saturn’s rigidity.
⭐chiron in 7th in davison chart could mean that the relationship itself becomes the wound after some time. or that one could be in the relationship to heal past relationship wounds.
☀️ Also natal planets in aspect or CONJUNCT to composite aspects show what part of the relationship affects you and how. Having both people’s natal conjunct planets in the composite shows that the relationship will be important to both the people.
🌙 saturn in 7h of composite is a common aspect seen in familial relationships.
I AM SO HAPPY TO BE AT LEAST A LITTLE ACTIVE AT LAST OMG🙈🙈 I HOPE YOU ALL LIKE IT!!! 💕💕

Hey Luca, how's it going? I'm really not if you've ever done this before a long time ago but now I want to know your observations on the red flags in composite. Specifically romantically, like case in point 'forget commitment, could this possibly lead to heartbreak or a tragedy full of regrets'? Just to keep in mind of them since I know we each have to give our inputs in a relationship :D
𝕮𝖗𝖎𝖙𝖎𝖈𝖆𝖑 𝖆𝖘𝖕𝖊𝖈𝖙𝖘 𝖆𝖉 𝖕𝖑𝖆𝖈𝖊𝖒𝖊𝖓𝖙𝖘 𝖎𝖓 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝕮𝖔𝖒𝖕𝖔𝖘𝖎𝖙𝖊 𝖈𝖍𝖆𝖗𝖙
Hello! I've written a post about 'key placements' in synastry and composite and what to look out for, you can look at it here, maybe it'll help you too! x
A reminder, that your natal chart and synastry will play a huge role in how you'll personally experience and deal with these aspects and placements! And yes it's true, regardless of certain aspects and placements in composite you can still have a succesfull and loving connection! I can confirm, the people that are basically my soulmates and the loves of my life that stuck with me through thick and thin share stereotypical 'horrible' composite with me lmao not even our synastry is that great but we lead very healthy and loving friendships <333
Disclaimer: I will focus on the WORST outcome of these aspects, if you are easily triggered by these hypothetical possibilities I'll advice you to NOT read this post! Thank you x
✦ First of all, I want to talk about Pluto in the Composite: critcal placements of and aspects to Pluto can create power struggles, mind games, secrets, paranoia, insecurities and at worst (I repeat, this is only the worst case scenario!!) forms of abuse due to that in a connection. I would say every harsh aspect to Pluto and the personal planets or the angles can feel deeply uncomfortable over time, but I will focus on a few aspecs that I want to highlight since I think they can be especially precarious in a composite chart.
✦ Moon square/Inconjunct Pluto: Will start out with this banger aspect and just straight up say that especially if Neptune and Mercury are also critcally aspected and you have 8th and 12th house placements ON TOP of that then there's going to be lots of build up emotions, trust issues, fear if re-living old trauma, assumptions, and power struggles due to that. Attachement issues. One person might be more visbly emotionally distressed due to the paranoia and feel unsafe in the relationship, the other person might withhold information/feelings and will grow the resentment quietly, but both parts will try to control the situation on their own. The advice here is to be open and upfront with feelings, to talk about worries and especially to be open with any sort of trust issues/past bad experiences you fear of resurfacing! No power plays, both partners need to be willing to be honest and be completely vulnerable. Emotions should be validated, heard and the worries of the other handled with care and grace. This aspect can harvest a lot dark and negative emotions quickly, watch out for it to not become a self fulfilling prophecy.
TW ✦ Mars square/inconjunct (would even say conjunction has the potential too) Pluto, especially if it's in a water house: The build up to the explosion might take a while, but both can probably easily feel the underlying tension. Both want to have it their way, and here, values and deep rooted fears and intenalized beliefs play a role in it. We deal here with the instinctive flight, fight or fright response, only in this case chances are high that this will be pure fight (in the passive way Pluto plots its revenge though). It can be an aggressive aspect and in my opinion way nastier than harsh aspects between Mars and Sun, because at worst (!), this can be about emotionally, mentally and physically controlling and therefore abusing the other. While Mars and Sun in negative aspects can be equally frustrating, this aspect can point and reveal to painful truths, fears and insecurities about the people involved. Lovers to enemies trope, seeing each other as a thread. I think water houses make it worse because these houses deal with our psyche and emotions, our uttermost vulnerable parts, great damage can be done here. For example if you'd have this aspect in the 4th house, your home could be a psychological battelgound. The fighting could happen at home, behind close doors, etc. END TW
✦ Sun square/inconjunct/opposite/conjunct Pluto: The theme of power and power struggles can become the core themes of the connection. Therefore this can be rally exhausting over time, both people feel like they are constantly trying each other (even if the other didn't do so) and that they can't catch a break when they're together. It's like there's always something waiting around the corner they have to tackle. One or both can be too demanding of another. If feelings fade, both might be afraid that the relationship loses its meaning and becomes too dull. This is were the constant emotional highs and intensity will show their addictive side and cause fear of the mundane, the healthy.
✦ Pluto can be tricky in every house, but I'll say in the composite I'd say the 1st, 4th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 10th and 12th house can be the most complicated ones, but it's really dependent on other aspects and influences. The 12th house especially can point to the relationship ending by some bitter truths being revealed, leading to a painful end.
✦ Neptune square/inconjunct the personal planets: Do I have to say it? You called it, it's mainly about the dellusion aspect and yes, it's necessary to acknowledge that both parties can chase a dream that might not be really found in reality. It can lead to deceiving behaviour, idealization, lying, strong disappointment and even resentment when finding out the other person/relationship is not living up to your dreams. It can also talk about trying to make the relationship work, when outer circumstances are working against it! Here, I want to mention Uranus. While Uranus in harsh aspects to the personal planets can point to on-off behaviour and feelings, I think more often it can also lead to outer circumstances forcing you to be physically apart. Due to sudden events, you might spend lots of times apart, having to rely other forms of communication and socializing to keep the connection alive.
✦ Generational planets conjunct/in close harsh aspects to Saturn: Can feel like outer circumstances breaking your foundation apart. It's not like you can't work this out, but can feel like your world is falling apart in one minute, with Saturn being nvolved the two people can feel way top defeated and pessimistic to try again or fight against outer circumstances and individual shortcomings to try again and make the connection work.
✦ Personal planets conjunct/in harsh aspect to Chiron:This doesn't have to be a dealbreaker, but given the nature of Chiron, definitely worth a mention. Especially when Moon and Venus are involved, loving each other is working through pain and healing together, Being vulnerable and intimate with each other can bring the biggest pain, but also the biggest reward. Love that feels heavy and dutiful, love that requires high amount of maturity (!). Both need to be responsible for their own pain. Being together might feel bittersweet. Similar feelings can arise with Chiron in the 8th, 7th, 12th, 1st.
✦ Black Moon Lilith being strongly present in the composite chart: I'm talking close aspects, contacts to the personal planets, the angles, NN/SN. BML can point to self destructive behavior. Two people acting out on their desires too much, indulging fully in chaotic energy without caring about the consequences. This pair might have to undergo a lot of judgement and stares from the public, which can tear them apart too. One part tries to controle the Lilith nature of the other. In general, in order to benefit from srong Lilith energy in composite and synastry both people have to respect the other and have to align their individuals powers! Disputes due to different values and ownership can occure as well with Lilith being prominent in this chart.
✦ This is not an aspect, but look at aspect patterns in your chart and potential apex planets in order to identify re-occuring themes and problems in your relationship!
✦ People often are often afraid about (personal) planets in the 12th/8th house or stelliums there, since they can indicate secrets or hiding the partner/relationship from the public, but I would digress and say that these placements grand two people extreme intimacy, the only thing I'd suggest is to always communicate, be transparent and give each other the emotional space and time to open up and grow together in a very natural and authentic way.
✦ Sun in conflicting aspects to Moon, Venus, Mars, Saturn, more so when multiple of these planets form tight, critical aspects with the Sun: Can indicate that there are just certain parts 'missing' in the connection that would lead to emotional and physical fulfillment that you need to address and work on. Again, Mars and Sun can talk about a clash of egos and pulling towards different directions, too much egocentrism, no team player mentality, lack of direction, Saturn often hints towards outer circumstances making it harder for two people to be together, both can be very pessimistic and have a hard time continuing to invest into the relationship.
✦ Having a very prominent, very afflicted Jupiter: Jupiter is the point in composite were our (shared) hopes, desires and talents come together, were we collaborate in order to create our own luck and strive for it, it's the soul of the relationship. Having Jupiter in a critical position can lead to a lack of fulfillment, we feel like our soul can't grow and expand in the relationship, uninspired to make the best out of life.

okay so I want to breakdown the “key placements” that can save a relationship from breaking. you know any relationship can work regardless the synastry/composite, and also even with the best interaspects a connection can still fade, right? My question rises from my observation of finding moon-sun conjunction en synastry/composites which have other chaotic placements, as well as beautiful love-stellium that did not maintain the union due to falling into the “wrong” house. So what for which case?
♡ 𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝕘𝕝𝕦𝕖 𝕚𝕟 𝕣𝕖𝕝𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟𝕤𝕙𝕚𝕡𝕤: 𝕒 𝕕𝕖𝕖𝕡 𝕕𝕚𝕧𝕖 𝕚𝕟𝕥𝕠 ‘𝕜𝕖𝕪 𝕡𝕝𝕒𝕔𝕖𝕞𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕤’ 𝕚𝕟 𝕤𝕪𝕟𝕒𝕤𝕥𝕣𝕪 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕔𝕠𝕞𝕡𝕠𝕤𝕚𝕥𝕖 ♡

Disclaimer: same can count for friendships ofc! Also, I don't want to give a 'text book answer' here, because I feel like the dynamic between two people and what brings them together and makes them stay is far too complex as to simply name a few aspects. So I hope you are open for my 'discourse' approach I have here!
Question: So which exact aspects/placements/overlays can tie a connection together?
First off, the basics: you have to look at all the charts together
-> yes, when we want to look at significant themes and the overall quality of a connection (especially if we want to make some sort of a forecast) only looking at one chart or one part of synastry will not be as effective as putting it all together in a bigger picture! This might sound a bit exhausting at the beginning, but doing the extra work will help you finding actual patterns in the dynamic of two/multiple people!
-> So you always want to look at the two individual birth charts, synastry, as well as composite (but remember that composite charts are representative of connections that existed for around a year already). Overall compatibility is not unimportant, but only gives you a little glimpse of what you can actually discover between people.
One of the most important things when it comes to synastry readings: your own birth chart and its themes
-> I really, really want to empathize this point. One and one makes two, not two people are one. That means, you gotta figure yourself and your birth chart out first (and the one of the other person ofc) and see, what you two as individuals carry into this connection and what will be themes you will be individually put a big focus on, what exactly is it that the two of you individually need the most from a connection and the partner in order to feel content and form a healthy union?
-> While it's generally good in text book theory and definitely feels very nice to have the Moon and Sun in a positive aspect to another, or your Venus in your partner's 7th house, you can see couples having a loaded 6th house, harsh aspects between the personal planets, lots of Saturn aspects in synastry and they are still going on strong. Why?
-> It depends on what two you are made of and like (despite the fact that astrology doesn't limit the possibilities of forming a healthy connection with someone). Example: If you were to be a Cancer sun with a Virgo moon and Aries rising, already by the position of your big three, there is a strong empathize on the position and well-being of your Moon sign and Mars sign in synastry. Having your Venus in a bad aspect to your partners Venus def sucks too, don't get me wrong, but the comfort of your Moon and Mars in Synastry will definitely be a top priority, and something you'll notice the quickest if it were to be in a rough (or good) position, next to Venus . Therefore, a good position to the Moon and Mars can make one overcome incompatible Venus. Same would be for a person who's Taurus Sun with a Sagittarius Rising. Jupiter plays a crucial part too, next to Venus, Moon, Mars, Mercury, or any love/relationship/friendship asteroids.
Just as people who natally have their Venus/Mars in close aspects to Saturn (doesn't matter if they're good or bad) often report that they can endure heavy Saturn influence in Synastry and Composite way better or don't mind it that much. They are not only used to it, but can also want and need it. And to expand the example even further: people who have strong Saturn influence in their birth chart - specifically if it's close aspects to the inner planets - can seek out people with Capricorn/Aquarius placements as well, as Saturn's influence ties them together and brings similarity. Even if they don't have lots of placements that are overly compatible with these signs, the aspects can really make the difference in the end.
-> Regarding overlays, this can be the same theme. If you're someone who has strong Mercury/Gemini influence in your chart, and your partners planets fall in the third house (which is usually considered less romantic) this can be just perfect for you as you actually need lots of communication/social interaction and value it on a daily basis! (Because the 3rd house and Gemini/Mercury can have overlapping themes, not because I think Gemini is the equivalent to the 3rd house!). So don't be disheartened if your partners Venus doesn't fall in the 7th or 5th house, when their Venus might fall into a house of your chart that is already very prominent and thus significant to your overall themes and patterns of your birth chart!
→ what to look at generally when it comes to qualities we seek in close connections to others/relationships (specifically long term):
We all know it's important to look at Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars, Mercury, all together, but never leave out the importance and impact of your chart ruler!! Your chart ruler directs your chart after all, someone generally vibing with the way you navigate your life/being will be important! Also, for additional depth, look at the planet that rules your sun sign, e.g. if you’re an Aquarius Sun your Saturn and Uranus m might play another big defining role in compatibility to others.
Jupiter: shows us the qualities we seek out/need in others in order for us to continuously grow and self-empower, basically someone who doesn't hinder us from forming our own 'luck'. The person who represents our Jupiter qualities can help and inspire us on the long term.
5th house, 8th house, 4th house, 7th house/Descendant/1st house/Ascendant (look at the planets in the houses/the houses rulers in order to get more info on the overall themes of these houses)
Juno: what we need in order to stay committed, how we continuously commit and show commitment
ᴏɴ sɴʏᴀsᴛʀʏ ᴄʜᴀʀᴛs:
-> now that we figured out the significance of our own birth chart at first, we look at Synastry itself, and before we start getting into aspects, let's focus on overlays:
→ not every overlay is for everyone, hence why there is always a pretty heated debate about which overlay is the ‘holy grail’ in close connnections. It's important to recognize that. Overlays can be pretty hit or miss depending on how you handle the houses themes in your own chart and/or how much they are represented in your natal chart. You can have lots of 8th house influence in your chart and thus really crave that 8th house synastry, but if you haven't at least started working healthily/progressively on your 8th house themes (yes I'm specifically talking about the negative ones), every 8th house overlay can be a pure pain in the ass and trigger the hell out of you to be fair. Likewise, you can have lots of 5th house overlays, but maybe the overall focus on pleasures and fun, can create a rather short lived connection, that lacks groundedness and substance for some people. You can have lots of 7th house overlays, but that doesn’t mean the person will be your long term companion if you still have a very hard time integrating the 7th house signs energy in your life/recognizing the Descendant in yourself. It’s important to put overlays in the context of the whole synastry chart and your individual charts and to not exclude them too much.
→ You see, it's also about how we handle what is given to us and eventually comes down to what we want. This brings us to the 'wrong' overlay:
→ First and foremost, yes: there are houses with inherently darker/tougher themes and that won't change in Synastry either. Doesn't mean your connection is doomed, it just means that the themes of a house and its meanings can not be changed in any context, but that it takes two individuals that will have to figure a way out to deal with said themes accordingly.
→ For example if you'd have a Venus in the 12th house nataly, your partners Moon falling into said house and conjuncting Venus is still a generally positive aspect to have (especially long term), but that won't erase the 12th house themes that color said aspect for you two.
→ So I want to give a quick rundown on the house overlays that can generally harder to deal with due to the themes they represent! Again: doesn't mean they signs of doom in a synastry chart! This also applies for the composite chart!
-> 8th house: I think the reason why the 8th house is hard to deal with is because people often forget about the theme of it in your own natal chart. The 8th house shows us where we need to take responsibility for all our own issues that prevent us from deepening a connection. On a more surface level, the 8th house shows us where we share and sacrifice our self with a partner: all that belongs to us, like our money, but also our emotions/soul, mind and even body. The amount of trust and growth the 8th house requires in yourself in order to willingly trust your partner can be quiet difficult to obtain for some. Furthermore, the 8th house is activated by closeness with others: only by being close to others, you get triggered and can pin point to your own 'trauma/inner shadow' that you experienced in close intimate connections that you haven't progressed yet. It's a house that requires lots of maturity but also bravery and honesty. Having 8th house overlays are therefore not for the faint of heart. Can be soul-crushing beautiful when two people dare to trust and face their devils and be honest, or will simply crush your soul if it's negative, and cause lots of projection to be fair. There's little room for anything in between here.
→ 12th house: The 12th house forces us to give up control: that's the part that comes with self undoing. It's all we can genuinely believe, that is not part of us, that is absent in our life, or we wish we had, but remains a daydream. It’s also the house of isolation, and this theme can still be apparent even if we’re in a relationship. Therefore, the 12th house overlay needs lots of trust and with that, bravery. In a former post of mine I talked about the 12th house being a possible indicator for unrequited love, since it's not only indicating an 'on and off' energy, but often times one doesn't even dare to make the first move. It's watching from afar. Seeing and feelings things the other doesn't, or at least yet. The 12th house is the house of self-undoing: it's the last house and can therefore symbolize an end, but not a foresighted one, it most likely feels sudden, even if the signs were visible all the time. Therefore the 12th house can evoke fear for those who can not build this almost telepathic connection and strong trust and intuition with another, but also in oneself.
→ 6th house: Ahhh.....the house of daily crisis lol. It symbolizes routine and health and how we overcome crisis, so yes, whatever happens between two people, if it falls in the 6th house it'll need to adjust to some sort of routine or becomes automatically practical, which is not a bad thing in itself, but to say so much, whatever planet/point/angle lands here needs to withstand the test of life or better said how we construct life. The 6th house points to our health, because the way we manage our life and construct it will play a big part in our physical and mental health. Therefore, anything in the 6th house will have to prove itself if it's healthy enough to fit into the house person’s routine. Therefore this house is often frowned upon as so 'unromantic' (which it honestly really doesn't have to be) and sucking the 'feelings/excitement' out of any connections (apparently for some, I'm a Virgo rising, so I like someone who can fit into my schedule lol).
→ And yes, you can find cons and pros in every house, I could list the pros and cons of the 3rd and 9th house for hours, or the 10th house creating lots of inner and outer pressure for the planet and house person in synastry, but the 6th, 8th and 12th house are definitely the houses that can carry the most grim undertone.
→ Okay, and before I list a few aspects regarding synastry, I have to play the armchair psychologist for a few seconds. The question from OP was regarding committed, long term connections (doesn't matter of which kind), so we generally want to look at aspects that bring a very foundational understanding of one another, as well as devotion/responsibility for the connection. These are general aspects I'd see as beneficial for every connection, but again, as I've mentioned in the previous part, depending on the significant themes in your chart, other aspects can definitely be more important.
Moon to any personal planets and AC-DC contacts: conjunction, positives, oppositions, semi-sextile mainly. I mention the Moon because this is the most vulnerable part of our chart, physically as well as emotionally. The Moon has to feel understood, or at least with negative aspects, two people should really focus on making the other feel safe and emotionally understood. Saturn and Jupiter can work out too, but it'll be easiest with positive contacts, conjunctions or oppositions, the square or incojunction can be pretty tough, but I've seen people work these out too.
Saturn contacts to personal planets or AC-DC/IC-MC angle: Saturn naturally works like a glue because it creates responsibility, but this doesn't have to equal in it feeling nice, it can actually feel pretty suffocating, so make sure that you don't stay for wrong reasons. Pluto can also work like a glue because it creates unspoken loyalty and depth like nothing else between two people, but can be more explosive than Saturn. Can also make you stay for wrong reasons.
Mercury in neutral/positive contact/opposition to Moon/Sun/Mercury/Jupiter/AC-DC axis: Communication is key, I think I don’t have to elaborate on that too much, lol. But Mercury in Synastry having at least somewhat of a shared basis of understanding or even similarity between two people can ease any other tension a lot! Comfortable/easy communication adds to things running a bit smoother.
Sun in positive/neutral contact to Venus or Jupiter: awakening the strive to grow and search for something beautiful and meaningful in another, the self and the world. Jupiter is a very empowering planet, so I think it's definitely worth including
Venus/Mars in positive/neutral aspect, opposition to Venus/Mars/AC-DC axis: A strong indicator for finding what one craves and dreams of in a connection. Good at keeping up the excitement and feelings in a connection too.
North Node in conjunction to AC-DC angle, personal planets: I specify on the conjunction because it will be felt the strongest. North Node contacts can feel extremely significant, it does create the feeling of 'we were meant to meet/soulmates', if one believes in these concepts ofc. The planet person usually is seen as very valuable/mentor like for the NN person.
ᴛʜᴇ ᴄᴏᴍᴘᴏsɪᴛᴇ ᴄʜᴀʀᴛ:
-> now, here is where it gets spicier! This is the natal chart of the connection itself, and how this connection will feel to you/the other one specifically on the long term can be answered by looking at the individual birth charts of you two (again)
-> for example: next to repetitive themes/patterns in your own birth chart, you can look at the overall relationship indicators in your chart (Venus, Jupiter, 7th house, 5th house) and see how these energies are represented in the composite. Example: If you have Aries in the 7th house, with Saturn being in it too, and your Neptune and Uranus are in Capricorn in the 5th house , generally speaking a composite with stronger Aries/Capricorn energy in it, or having a relatively strong influence of Saturn/Mars and moderate + good (the combination of these two adjectives is important here lol) influence of Uranus/Neptune can feel especially nice to you in a long term connection.
-> But it doesn't even have to be that complicated. Take your personal planets + Rising sign as the basic component here, I'll give you a personal example of my chart:
I'm a Cancer Sun, Scorpio Moon, Virgo Rising, Cancer Mercury, Libra Mars and Leo Venus. The strongest connections I have are evident of having these signs strongly represented in personal planets or the Ascendant/Descendant in the composite chart. I also have very strong Saturn, Mercury, Neptune and Uranus influence in my natal chart, so whenever there are significant aspects of these four planets (or the zodiac signs they rule) it feels familiar and welcoming to me in composite. That doesn't mean overly negative aspects of Neptune, Uranus and Saturn in composite won't feel bad for me lol, just that it's a theme/pattern that I can work with well
-> Caution: You can subconsciously seek out partnerships/connections that have the same negative aspects/themes representative in composite/synastry as you have in your natal chart . If you want to 'prevent' anything, look at any possible repetitive themes.
ᴄᴏɴᴄʟᴜsɪᴏɴ:
There are definitely certain thumb-rule answers we can look at when it comes to synastry/composite, but I highly advice everyone to analyze their natal chart thoroughly (and the one of your partner(s) too), in order to see where you add your own individual flavor and needs to it! And tbf, I also think the way you are socialized (for example gender roles and gender expectation) plays a huge role in synastry/composite as well, so keep that in mind too.

When Aries and Taurus are in a relationship, the result is a natural union of Love, represented by Taurus, and Passion, represented by Aries. This relationship is all about balance. Aries wants to jump right in and get into it, while Taurus prefers to go much more slowly. This can create a problem; Taurus loves to be wooed and romanced — two concepts that are basically foreign to straightforward, brash, totally unsubtle Aries. An Aries-Taurus partnership can be a great learning experience for both Signs. Taurus can help Aries rein in some of the more foolish, impractical impulses, and Aries can help Taurus be more spontaneous and adventurous.

1st House Impressions
Essentially, what others see in themselves, they will project onto you. We each have an individual persona we extend to the world. How we see the world is how we react to it. If you have any first house planets, you have certain intense energies you express and each planet has positive and negative energies. A person’s impression of you depends on themselves and your perspective depends on yourself.. It is up to you and your personal perspective on life what you will choose to do.
Sun in the 1st: You are captivating and outrageously brilliant. Glimmering in the sunlight and shining even brighter in the dark, you inspire creative souls who thirst for enthusiasm and warmth. Some may envy you for the light you radiate. Show them that they can shine, too. Be careful not to become so engulfed in your radiance that you dominate over others.
Moon in the 1st: Soft and emotionally charged, you are the wide eyed, gentle heart that everyone acknowledges. You can sense the feelings of the people around you and project them back - They can take offense to this if they see emotional expression as a weakness. Teach them that showing emotion is okay or else you will become cold like them.
Mercury in the 1st: You harbor a sharp mind and an intellectual gaze.. Eternally curious and forever absorbing the world around you. Others know you to be quirky, comedic, and sophisticated. You can intimidate those who lack the intellectual expression you give away. Regardless of how wise and analytical you are, tell them that you’re still learning, too. Don’t allow yourself to feel superior and intolerant.
Venus in the 1st: It is easy for others to envy you for your elegance and charm. You’re contagious! Some may become inspired by you while others will attempt to undermine you out of jealousy and insecurity. Show them that they can be beautiful like them and they don’t have to be beautiful like you. Teach them the values of their own appeal and magnificence. Be careful not to let your beauty inflate your ego.
Mars in the 1st: Others know of you for your strength, determination, and passion. You have not had an easy life. You’ve endured battles and obtained scars that only the strong persevere. Because of your Martian energy, people often see you as a threat. Life is an eternal competition for you and you feel the need to remain in the lead. Do not let your wounds destroy your compassion. Show others that they can overcome anything if they try hard enough. Inspire them to be courageous like you.
Jupiter in the 1st: Your presence is felt long before you enter a room. Your energy is loud and proud, matching in with Jupiter’s expansive zest. Others admire you for your flamboyancy, humor, and vigor for life and meaning but those who lack enthusiasm and direction scoff at your blind optimism. It is up to you to show them that there is truly more to life than what they may realize. Enlighten others by showing them the importance of self-discovery and personal freedom. Do not let yourself become zealous and boastful.
Saturn in the 1st: You entered into this world an old soul rewinding itself. Responsibility and regulation have been instilled with you from the beginning. Others appreciate you for how disciplined and hard-working you are but may be annoyed by your lack of amusement and wonder. Some may even attempt to strike you down and destroy the structure you’ve embodied. Instruct them by showing them what you’ve made for yourself and how they could do the same for themselves if they are mature and determined enough. Don’t let the world and its seemingly oblivious nature influence you to become cynical and cold-hearted.
Uranus in the 1st: Not many people understand your individuality and your unpredictable presence. You’re a different person on every platform but still very much the same. Your unusual qualities never leave, but take different forms at work or school, with friends, and on social media. Your originality may influence copy cats, admirers, and people who will bully you for your ingenuity because they refuse to accept their own. Teach others that no one can be like them and that everyone has something special about them that no one else possesses. Do not let your inventive and imaginative qualities influence a superiority complex in you.
Neptune in the 1st: You’re a lovely daydream in a world filled with cold-blooded reality, making you an intriguing individual. Others are drawn to you because of the mystery, controversy, and allure that surrounds you. Others are drawn to the rumors, secrets, and legends that surround your past, present, and future. No one will ever know the real you, as you hide behind a protective veil. Your compassion, emotional depth, and creativity enchant the eyes of artists and offend those that have let the world’s cruelty damage them. Show them how fascinating the world can be.. Teach them the wonders of imagination and self-expression so that they can heal and eventually heal others the same way. Do not let your veil shy you away from helping others see what you see.
Pluto in the 1st: It is truly all black and white for you. People feel intensely about you - passionate adoration or overpowering hatred. You can crawl your way out of any situation and rise on top, no matter the difficulty. This is a trait that not many possess. You know the importance of destruction, death, and resurgence. You’ve lived a million lives in one body. You will continue to prosper and rise from the dead. You understand humanity because you’ve seen it all. You understand why endings must occur because you’ve seen the beauty of beginnings. Do not let the opinions of others take over you and diminish your healing powers. Show them how they can recover, too.

Astrology: The 7th house and the relationship partner
Our ascendant sign indicates how we distinguish ourselves as an individual. It depicts the characteristics we project into the outer world and how we proclaim our “I am”.
In regards to this, our descendent then indicates who we declare as “They are”. The sign here indicates the type of people we attract or are attracted to as they provide contrast to who we define ourselves as - Ever heard “opposites attract”?
The 7th house is often associated with romantic relationships, however this is commonly the simplified modern interpretation of this house.
Essentially what the 7th house represents is any situation where you are in ‘contract’ with another person in a one-on-one circumstance. You come to agreements here, and this is why this house is associated with the marriage partner (and also business relationships and deals, as well as law and close friendships).
The sign here indicates the characteristics attractive in another person, and also indicates who is drawn to you. It is often 9 times out of 10 that we have our longest and most successful relationships with people who have the sign on out descendent on one of their personal planets or their rising sign.
Many other factors can alter this such as:
The ruler of the sign on our DC (sign/house and aspects play a vital role in interpretation)
Venus house, sign and aspects
Juno house, sign and aspects
Looking at the ruler of the 7th house and its condition is very important if you 7th house is empty!
No…this does not mean you’ll live alone with 9 cats and a parakeet called Charlie…your 7th house ruler will give you more information as to the nature of your potential future relationship partner.
In fact, if your 7th house is empty, the bond you can create when someones planet falls into this house can strengthen your connection with them as their presence seems to ‘complete’ you in a way you find magnetic and romantic.
Check the sign on your descendent + the sign the ruler is in (regardless if you have planets in the 7th or not) as this will highly indicate the most likely people you’ll form relationships with.
Note* This will also indicate how you will act in relationships with other people! (This will greatly depend on if you subconsciously project these characteristics onto another person/if they have planets in this sign)
Also take note of any planets in the 7th house
* The house of the 7th ruler (+ aspects) will also have an influence - for advanced readers
