Doctor Who: Ten [ENTP]
Ne: The Doctor takes random pieces of information and connects them to discern the truth of what’s happening around him. He’s a man of externally based ideas and information who focuses on the big picture: he sees the world as it was, as it is, and how it will be a billion years in the future. He’s sometimes so caught up in his ideas that he fails to notice the details. It’s impossible to fool him for long.
Ti: His curiosity for humans makes him fond of them; their ability to survive in spite of all odds impresses him. The Doctor sometimes errs in looking at races too logically and in trying to figure out their motivations (it can make him seem brisk and rude) and how their systems work, but it also allows him to be objective and see things from multiple points of view. He’s good at coming up with creative solutions to his problems rather than relying on previously established logic. The Doctor is eternally curious and forever in search of new things to think about. He is frequently able to put aside his feelings and take an action that to others seems “cold.”
Fe: He’s charming enough that people like him and are drawn to him. The Doctor tries to adapt to his environment by not challenging established methods in foreign societies unless they in some way harm others. He is very angry when injustices are committed. He has trouble expressing his own emotions and is sometimes overwhelmed by them.
Si: Memories are important to him but also make him sad. The Doctor uses information he has gathered in the past to reinforce opinions and knowledge in the present.

Doctor Who: The Master [INTJ]
Introverted Intuition (Ni): correctly knowing something without prior experience. Strong sense of the future, and future events, able to easily strategize to accomplish goals and avoid negative effects. Anticipate distant events and work backward to reveal immediate steps. Premonitions of the unexpected. Feel energized when dwelling on an image of future transformation. Embrace a powerful single idealistic vision for their life.
Extroverted Thinking (Te): noticing if something isn’t working right and fixing it. Time management. Follow a straight line of reasoning to solve problems. Establish what needs to be done to accomplish a goal. Conform thinking to measurable facts. Look to external measures (time limit, word count) as guidelines for organization. Schedules and organization. Step by step processes. Value controlling impulses and compartmentalizing feelings to accomplish goals.
Introverted Feeling (Fi): enjoy spending time on activities that have personal meaning to them. Strong sense of right or wrong. Great loyalty to those they care about. Choosing personal beliefs. Refusal to compromise on strongly held beliefs.
Extroverted Sensing (Se): want to know and understand the reality of things and feel anchored in something “real.” Easily overloaded with sensory stimulation. Drawn to feel a variety of exciting experiences. Seek data so that they can implement their vision. Attention to the physical world and their physical bodies.
The Master has a long term plan that allows him to manipulate everyone around him into doing exactly what he wants them to do. He places events in Martha and the Doctor’s way, anticipates their various reactions to things, and plans for them (inventing a screwdriver that only responds to his own DNA, arresting her entire family, turning the TARDIS into a paradox machine, and caging the Doctor) (Ni). He is very blunt in asserting the facts of any given situation, and applying logic to any situation. The Master enjoys organizing others to do his bidding and is ruthless in his decisions. His total honesty gives him an unparalleled level of sarcasm (Te).
He refuses to deviate from his plans or accommodate anyone else’s wishes; the Master won’t regenerate when the Doctor asks him to, because he doesn’t want to! He would rather die on his own terms than live a live under the control of someone else (Fi). He has a flamboyant, theatrical side to his nature that makes him comical in his most dramatic moments. The Master enjoys such things as music and culture, but only up to a point. He isn’t very good at adapting in the moment, which means the Doctor’s liberation catches him off guard (inferior Se).

I’ve been reading some of the previous Inferior Fe posts, and I notice that they all talk about the same aspects of weak Fe, but seem to completely ignore others? Maybe it’s just me, but I’ve really only seen how the inferior Fe affects others, but not us INTP’s, which is something I hope...

The Lord of the Rings: Sam Gamgee [ISFJ]
Si: Sam is sensible, practical, and detailed – the perfect person to see Frodo safely through Gondor. He finds it hard to let go of the past, and is reminiscing about the Shire long into their journey. Sam holds onto things from his former life, to comfort him in unknown places. He wants to return to familiarity and live a sensible, traditional life. Sam doesn’t crave adventure – he wants stability. He never forgets a transgression, and is able to focus Frodo’s mind on past delights just when his friend needs it most.
Fe: Everything Sam does is out of a desire to care for, protect, and please other people. He puts aside all of his own needs to make sure that Frodo is safe, warm, and looked after. He doesn’t sleep so that he can keep an eye on Gollum. Sam sacrifices his own food to keep his friend safe. He risks his life charging into an orc tower to save Frodo. He adapts into whatever anyone needs him to be, whether or not they ask him to. Sam finds it hard to express his own emotions, so they often come out in bursts of anger and frustration.
Ti: He questions things in a desire to understand them. Sam won’t take “no” or “turn back” for an answer. He is smart enough to know that Gollum is misleading them and to discern safe routes through Mordor. Sam tends to keep his thoughts to himself.
Ne: Around Gollum, all of Sam’s warning bells go off. He not only comprehends the powerful hold Gollum has over Frodo, but how Frodo feels in return. He’s aware of the Ring’s influence over his friend, and is devoted to destroying it even if it means he’ll never go home again.
