six years old

"mom, my homework's missing!" you scream, starting to tear up because  the homework that you have worked so hard on suddenly got missing. you were sure you last left it on your desk, but you were also pretty sure that you put it in your backpack already, which you just looked for it there, but it was no where to be seen. your mom came to your side and patted your back gently, cooing you to stop crying.

whenever you lost a certain object when you were younger, your mother always felt bad becuase you were still so young back then, and you wouldn't understand the concepts of zodiacs just yet.

meanwhile on the other side of the world, a young boy was playing with wooden sticks at his backyard, chanting out different spells from a movie he had just watched. 'wingardium leviosa!' he pointed at the leaf and frowned, the leaf not hovering from the ground. he huffed and just whispered to himself, 'maybe next time it'll work.' he went back inside, but as he was opening the sliding door, a mysterious sheet of paper was in his hands. he was sure that he didn't bring any piece of paper with him, so he was he ran inside the kitchen and showed it to his mom.

"mom, mom, look! a paper magically appeared in my hands and i swear to you i'm not lying!" he waved the paper around and his mom just chuckled, sitting next to her son.

"now where did you get this, love?" she laughs and she takes the paper from her son's hands. as she read the paper, her brows furrowed. her son wasn't lying. the other day, she saw a random stuffed animal in their backyard and a few crayons that were broken in half. she asked the neighbours if they were throwing out their old stuff over their fence for fun, but all of them shook their heads and said no. at this point, karen knew what this was about, but his son couldn't know just yet.

"y/n, can you please put this next to the tv? thanks, love." your mom asks you, and you gladly help her put the box next to the television. today was sunday, the last day that you and your family would be packing up before moving to toronto. as you stare into the empty living room, you couldn't believe that you were actually moving out of your childhood home after twenty years of living there. it still amazes you how long you were able to stand that home, even with your numerous things getting lost in there somehow.

"honey, where's the box that i ask you to put here?" your mom asks again and you suddenly snap out of your thoughts.

"next to the tele-" you turn around but stop immediately, only to find out the box gone next to the television. no, not again.

"what are you two chatting about?" your dad joins in the conversation, seeing how you and your mom looked extremely confused and worried.

"dad, the box, it was there, but now it's g-"

"gone? oh, the box next to the television? i just put it in the truck." he chuckles, and you and your mom give each other a sigh of relief.

"you scared me for a moment!" your mom exclaims, slapping your dad's arm playfully. all of you laugh and head out to the truck, stopping in front of the house. time to say goodbye to all the memories that this beloved building holds.

"shawn, come here!" manny shouts from the backyard, as shawn was watching a replay of a hockey game. he stands up immediately and heads to the backyard to see whatever his dad wants him to. he was staying in pickering for the weekend since he didn't have much to do that week, and boy was he missing home.

"look at this, remember the stuff that we would randomly get in our backyard when we were younger?" his dad shows him some objects he had laid out on the table outside.

"oh my god, yes!" he laughs and scans the table. looking at these objects made him feel like the six year old kid that he was again. he smiled and picked up one of the paraphernalia on the table, a stuffed animal that's a bunny to be exact, and takes a picture of it and posts it on his instagram stories.

he looked over all the things again when he remembered, he once got a piece of paper from this mysterious - identity? or whatever it was. he searched for the paper and after a few minutes, he finally found what he was looking for. he read the paper carefully and and smiled, knowing that he found the right piece of paper. he folded the paper in four and kept in inside his pocket. it might be useful one day.

"mom, look at this!" you screenshotted the post and showed it to yout mother, who gasped when she saw the photo.

"oh goodness, it's mr. nilla! where did you find that, darling?" your mom asks, very curious and excited to find out who. you look back at the story to see who posted it and-

She took a sip of her drink and looked around the room at all the people dancing and laughing. She’d been dragged to Shawn’s new years party and she wasn’t having a good time. Y/n only knew Shawn and a few of his friends so she was surrounded by way too many drunk strangers. She sighed and tapped her fingers against the red cup in her hand. This wasn’t worth her wearing her favorite dress. There were about 3 minutes left until midnight and everyone had become antsy.

Shawn had spotted her a few minutes ago. He thought that she wouldn’t show up because this wasn’t her scene. She preferred to hang out with smaller groups. He thought she looked amazing in her black summer dress. He could see the smooth skin of her back as the dress had an open back. Her legs looked just as smooth. She was the epitome of beauty in his eyes. He made his way over to her since she hadn’t greeted him all night.

She felt someone place a warm hand on her back, “Hey I didn’t know you were here.” The voice said over the music. She turned around and saw the man. His cheeks flushed hair as curly as ever.

“Hey! Yeah I’ve been here for a while.” She said to Shawn.

“Why didn’t you come find me?” He asked taking a step closer to her as someone tried to get past him.

“You seemed busy so I just didn’t.” She shrugged.

“You know I’m never too busy for you.” He smiled. She looked up at him with a small smile on her lips. Y/n’s always had a small crush on him and it never helped when he said things like that. Suddenly everyone began counting down from 10.

as soon as you got into you and shawn's shared apartment, you kicked off your shoes and took off your coat, calling for his name. ever since you saw the photos from the v magazine shoot this morning, you couldn't keep shawn off your mind.

 "babe, i'm home!" to your surprise, he didn't answer back, so you assumed that maybe your voice was just too soft the first time. so you tried to call for him again, in a louder voice this time. still, no response. so from there, you started your quest to find your boyfriend.

 you walked by the kitchen but didn't see him there, so you took a peek in his office. his curly brown locks weren't behind the computer, deciding to look for him in your shared bedroom. before you even walked in, you heard him laughing, while talking to someone. or so you thought.

you walked in the room slowly, creeping up behind his back to surprise him. as you finally see the back of his phone, you pop up and scream right in his face.

"boo!" he jumps, accidentally dropping his phone on the bedside table. he took a sigh of relief when he saw you but after a second, his eyes opened wide. 

oh my god, oh my god. he muttered under his breath, fumbling with his phone. you furrowed your brows at the sight of your boyfriend being stressed out about something that you clearly didn't know about.

"what's wrong, ba-" he puts a finger on your mouth, shutting you up. you held in your breath and he rushed a quick goodbye to whoever it was he was talking to. he finally took a sigh of relief, a real one this time, and hugged you, burying his face into your chest.

"i was live on instagram, bub." he laughs, looking up at you. you smiled and laughed along, the two of you finding your small slip funny.

"did anyone hear me?" you asked a bit nervously, and he shook his head no. you put a hand over over your chest and planted a kiss on his head.

"that was close."

"it sure was."

Family Night | Dad!Shawn

Authors Note: I was gonna post this last night but I fell asleep before I could edit and post. Toy Story 4 literally hurt my heart and I sobbed at the ending, please take tissues if that has been part of your childhood and you plan on watching it

Summary: It’s family night, which includes movies, dinner, a big bubble bath for Raul and some news for Shawn.

Word Count: 2,350

“Can I get a big popcorn?” Raul asks his dad as he tugs on the bottom of Shawn’s shirt. They’re in the queue at the movies, waiting in line to get the tickets and candy for Toy Story 4. Shawn looks at you and you look back.

“You can have a small one, bud. We’re going for dinner after, remember?” You remind the four-year-old and he pouts his bottom lip out. Just like his dad, you think. Shawn smiles and ruffles the boys’ curls, pulls him into his side and Raul mindlessly reaches for your fingers as he holds them.

“Okay,” he mumbles, least bit impressed but he doesn’t sulk, never sulks. He’s a good boy, really. Listens well, respects others, and loves just as hard as you and Shawn do. You’re proud, you both are, and you show it in every and any way that you can.

Shawn smiles down at his son and looks back up at you, offering a cheeky wink and you don’t bother trying to hide the small blush that rises to the apples of your cheeks. Even after seven years together and a child, he still makes you melt.

The line moves forward rather quickly and despite a few stolen glances from teenage girls, all three of you go as though you’re completely normal and not engaged to, or are the son of a rockstar. You get your tickets and snacks and make your way to the screening, finding your seats and Raul plops himself between you both, eyes bright with a toothy smile on his lips.

“You excited, bub?” You ask him, tickling his knee and Raul nods frantically, curls bouncing on his head and you chuckle at his eagerness. Toy Story has been his favourite ever since he watched the first one when he was eight months old. He’s got a collection of dolls and the storybooks, even has a Woody costume that he’s used for the last two Halloweens. Refuses to get rid of it, even if it does cling to him being a size or three too small.

“The TV is so big!” Raul exclaims and yourself and Shawn almost forgot that this is his first time at the movies. You grin as Shawn tickles his little belly and throws a small blanket over his legs. Shawn insisted he brought it, knows the theatre gets cold during the movies and knows Raul would only complain.

as 7 am hits, the hazel eyed boy's alarm went off, waking him up to start his daily routine. he rubs the sleep off of his his eyes and heads to the bathroom to brush his teeth, proceeding to slip into his workout clothes since he was about to go to the gym anyways. he doubled check anything that he could've forgotten to bring with him and he patted the pocket of his gym shorts and felt his phone and wallet in there, so with that, he leaves his apartment empty and heads out to the gym.

as he walked to the gym, he realized last minute that he forgot his water bottle in his apartment. he sighed, knowing he's walked too far to go back to his apartment. he searched for a convenience store and luckily there was one right across the street.

you walk over to the near convenience store to grab a few things before you go to your friend's place, and you felt a jolt through your body. your feet and body were tingling, so was your hands. what the hell just happened? the feeling went away pretty quickly, so you just shrugged it off.

he looked for the fridge but saw not a single bottle of water in there, so he looked around the isles to see if there were some in there. while he was roaming around the isles, someone walked in and suddenly he felt his right foot step to the right. this can't be real. he closed his eyes and breathed calmly, resisting the sudden urge. his foot stopped moving and he sighed in relief.

when he was a teenager, he was taught that all leos have a unique dance when they meet their soulmate, and they may find out what kind of dance it is through their birth certificates. that same day, he dug through his parent's cabinet and found his birth certificate with all the steps of his dance on it. when he read that piece of paper, oh did he memorize it. and one thing's for sure, he knew that the first step was right foot to the right.

when he grew a bit older, he started gaining recognition after posting covers on social media, and eventually he someone discovered him and he got signed to a label. when he first started, he was required to take classes on how to stop dancing if ever the day he encounters his soulmate comes when he's in front of the public eye, hence why he was able to stop dancing just right now.

you walk in the convenience store to find almost no one in there, except for a couple eating some sandwiches at a table and a tall guy wandering through the isles. and the cashier of course.

you made your way to the chips section to grab some doritos and lays for you and your friends, when the tall guy suddenly taps your shoulder.

"hey, do you know where the water bottles are? i'm not familiar with this place, sorry." he asks politely and you led him to the fridge where there surprisingly wasn't any water bottles.

"uh, looks like they don't have any stock today." you chuckled, rubbing the back of your neck.

"but i'm pretty sure a nearby cafe sells some water, if you take a right you'll see it there." you say, giving him the directions of your favorite cafe.

"oh cool, thanks! what's your name by the way?" he asks with a smile on his face.

"the name's y/n." you took out your hand for him to shake and he gladly accepted. he looked into your eyes for a quick second, making sure to remember your name.

"i'm shawn. have a good day today, y/n. thanks for the help again." he says, letting go of your hand.

"no problem, anytime." he turned around and you carefully watched him go out of the door until he was meters away from it. you immediately pulled up the sleeve of your jacket and read the tattoo on your arm. no way.

Soulmate Au’s for the Signs

Aries

The soulmate AU where the physical state your partner is in, is the state you’re in. If your soulmate has a bruise, you’ll have a bruise; if your partner is sick, you’ll be sick. When you meet your soulmate (via eye-contact) then it’ll stop, and you won’t share the pain of each other’s illness/ injuries.

Taurus The classic red string that is tied to the pinkie, the red string will connect the two soulmates together and lead to each other unconditionally. Unless one of the soulmates sever or cut the string, in which they will both suffer til finally, death.

Gemini  The soulmate AU where every child is born without one of the five senses (blindness, loss-of-taste), so when they meet their soulmate then their “lost sense” will be regained. When/If your soulmate dies, you will lose that “lost-sense” again.

Cancer A soulmate AU where, on their 18th birthday, they will have a heart imprinted on their index (dominant hand) and will gleam a colour and start to heat up when they are close to their soulmate. The colour the heart shines is also the matching colour of your soulmate, and the way to stop the burning temperature of your index finger is to touch your index finger with theirs. Then the temperature will stop to burn forever, but the colour will still shine.

Leo When soulmates meet, they will instantly do the same dance and connect like the main leads in a musical. (OPTIONAL- in this AU there is a dance held every year to help people find their soulmates easier.) 

Virgo When people are born, they’ll have a sentence tattooed on their body and it’s the first thing their soulmate will say to them.  

Libra Love at first sight.

No really. When the soulmates spot each-other, they will instantly click and will have the forward feeling of attraction that will pull them to each other. However for the rest of their life before it, they will feel empty and have a “hole-in-their-heart”.

Scorpio Starting since they were born, everybody sees the bright coloured trail/footprint of their soulmate. No matter what shoe, barefoot, the colour of the track will prevail no matter the material or colour of the surface. Continues even after they meet.

Sagittarius Where soulmates will have dreams of the other’s memories, until they meet. The memories can be random, and have no common ground, but are very vivid as if you’ve experienced it first hand.

Capricorn The world is black and white before you meet your soulmate, eye-contact to be precise. When you or your soulmate dies, the world will be black and white again.
