This has been on my mind for long but I’m gonna do this - please reblog this if you’re comfortable with pre-establishing relationships. I do not mean “met at the grocery store two weeks ago” or “have a common friend”, but rather stuff like “have been best friends since kindergrden”, “go for a beer every friday”, “friends with benefits”, “dated in highschool”, “hate each other’s guts because -insert reason-”  etc. Something meaningful (but not necessarily shippy) and I mean with muns/characters you have not interacted with, because I cannot believe I am the only one who prefers jumping right into the heart of the human interaction.

He pouts when she reminds him of the horrendous fact that Dà-gē didn’t always indulge Huaisang. It was quite cruel that he has a Dà-gē that doesn’t indulge all his whims. Wasn’t there a thing about indulging one's younger siblings when they wanted to be indulged in the handbook? Huaisang did his best to indulge Kexin (unless she wanted to practice then he gave her to Dà-gē), and he had a good feeling about he, himself, never not indulging her. So take that mental Dà-gē! Huaisang is beating you at indulging siblings. 

“Of course, it’s a great choice!” he chirps with a bright smile on his face. “It will be an adventure either way and adventures are always a great choice! Unless it’s an adventure that guarantees death then that’s just stupidity.” He fakes a shudder and acts out fanning it away and back to his cheerier self. “This doesn’t guarantee anything but adventure, Meimei, so we’re going to have a great time!” 

He loops his arm into hers and starts leading them off toward the town, hiding a pout with his fan. They couldn’t borrow the horses or have Kexin take off with them so close to home. Dà-gē would magically know that Huaisang had this idea and then he’d come and ruin the fun. So, sadly, walking for a while it was.

“Dà-gē indulges me!” he chirps out, smiling brightly. Dà-gē likes to pretend like he doesn’t indulge Huaisang or Kexin, but he can’t hide from the two of them. He was very indulgent, and they were very lucky! Huaisang’s thankful to have his Dà-gē as his Dà-gē everyday (even when he was trying to make Huaisang practice). 

He bites his lip when she sighs because this could end up being one of the miniscule chances she doesn’t go along with his ideas. And on the even smaller chance she’d tell Dà-gē and then there would be no fun to have (okay she usually only did that if Huaisang’s ideas had a high chance of injury). When she practically agrees, he breaks out into a bright smile. “You always have a choice!” he says, waving his fan around. “And coming with me is a great choice! So, you’re in?”

Huaisang stared at the fridge in horror. He had heard of dryers eating socks, but he had never heard of fridges eating keys. Okay, okay, maybe, just maybe Huasiang had dropped the key and perhaps he may have accidentally on purpose kicked it. But he never thought it would go under the fridge! Huaisang was aiming for the table! 

“I’ll never make the sports team,” he mumbled under his breath, but it was apparently loud enough for Da-ge to hear because Huaisang got an incredulous look, which was fair. Huaisang never planned to be on a sports team anyway. “Can you move the fridge?” 

Hopefully Da-ge could. Huaisang had pulled out a pair of handcuffs he was not about to explain to Da-ge why he owned them and had declared that Da-ge couldn’t handle being attached to Huaisang for an hour. And Da-ge, cruel man he was, laughed and said Huaisang couldn’t handle it, and that was just rude! Da-ge was supposed to be nice to Huaisang; it was in his job description as an older brother to be nice to Huaisang. But that whole whoopsie meant that they might be attached for longer than an hour.

“Da-ge, you need to unattach us before four pm,” he said, looking up at Da-ge with a pleading look. “I have places to be!”
