Having a great time in France working with the coach of #mulhousescorpions he decides to get these out today #IIHF gold medals for the Czech national team both ice and inline hockey. Made me think about how important goals are and how we need a purpose in life. #purpose #teamwork #teambuilding #coaching #lifegoals #goalsetting #goals #goldmeadal #leadership#Leadershipdevelopment #leadershiptraining

How do you want your team to look act and feel? Every team I work with is different, has different aspirations, goals, values and beliefs. It's what makes my job so interesting. #teamwithpurpose #teamcoaching #isyourhouseinorder? #agileteams #innovation #vision #goalsetting

#latestblog Have you noticed how some people have incredible gravitas? Great leaders, top athletes, the best actors, all have it. So what’s the secret? Imagine you have walked into a crowded room, everyone is talking, you recognise people and some are strangers. You feel awkward; people are talking but aren’t acknowledging you. Your inner voice says they could be talking about you. The feeling of anxiety is enhanced because you are completely naked! Then you wake up. Now imagine this: You walk into a crowded room naked. It doesn’t faze you. You feel calm, your voice is resonates and people want to hear what you have to say. You approach people and shake their hand with a smile. You feel light, free and liberated. Whatever people are thinking doesn’t concern you because you are comfortable in your own skin. They haven’t even noticed that you are naked. Being naked in a crowded room is obviously a metaphor for getting comfortable with your vulnerability. Stripping off the armour used to protect your ego is the key to unlocking your leadership potential. Presence isn’t achieved by shouting the loudest, banging on your chest and trying to be noticed. Presence is about being humble, listening and being open to change. Tips for enhancing your presence: Practice breathing from your bottom of your stomach, not your throat or chest Keep your body relaxed from your jaw down to your toes Listen with the intent to understand and not to be understood Learn how to be present with your emotions rather than fight them. #managethemist #leadershiptraining #leadership #Leadershipdevelopment #coaching #gravitas #presentationskills #presentationskillstraining #coachingculture

#latestblog Ego can help and hinder performance. There are two types of ego, the external and the internal ego. The external ego wants to prove its worth to everyone else, whilst the internal ego wants to prove its worth to oneself. Whether internal or external, an ego can help you to rise to the top of your profession. Equally, it can drive negative behaviours such as mistrust, over controlling the outcomes and the inability to take on developmental feedback. You may want or need to change behaviours to make the next step in your profession or help others make their next step. It might be your ego that is stopping others from growing and not allowing you to develop a succession plan so you can advance your own career. A healthy ego can help you deliver better performance and rise to the top, but as the leader your number one goal is to help others rise to the top. The question is, are you ready to let go of your ego? #ego #Leadershipdevelopment #leadership #coaching #usainbolt #athlete #train
