In the light of the very recent episode I think we as the fandom must understand now that Gabriel telling Marinette to "make sure that Adrien remembers him as a good father" was specifically just so Adrien would continue his last will more willingly as the new Monarch by making everyone singing Gabe's praises taking away his blame while also setting up everyone who knows the truth as liars so Adrien can channel his anger through them and not him with him no longer being present too. Gabriel specifically set Marinette up to fight her own boyfriend and end their romance while still extending his control over Adrien. Damn what a douchebag

How to introduce a family dynamic with one single establishment shot

Something I love about the opening scene of the Ruler is how, with one simple shot, you get to establish a lot about each family, their dynamic and their status.

Nathaniel's family is pretty distant with one another. The son and the dad do sit one next to another on a very large couch but they do not share a common body language. The dad takes a lot of space while Nathaniel is hunched, looking down. The mother is in her own corner, on a platform and separated by a rail, and she focuses on her work. The fact that the mom's office is in the living room hints about how, for her, work is more important than pleasure and relaxation.

Also, note how she is on a platform AND on a stool compared to the dad and son. She is purposefully elevated and has the high ground compare to them. She even has a lamp lighting her like a spotlight. She is the decision maker, she holds the power in the family.

The modern and black and white decor adds to this feeling of a cold environment. There is also a lot of straight lines and right angles of the furniture and rare accessories such as the couch, the coffee table, the carpet, the garbage bin(?) the rail, the platform, etc. Even all the books in the library are straight. The floor also appears to be epoxy. Everything has one sole and unique color and feels flat. We can guess the family is snobbish and as a very clear and orderly view of the world (read : black and white view).

Meanwhile, Marc's family sits all together on one single couch. This also allows the camera to be closer to them. This illustrates how intimate there are all with one another. They also all share a similar pose, which have them sit with their feet up on the couch. Which hints that they are also free spirits. They prefer to sit so they are comfortable rather than follow the rules and the establishment.

Their couch is well-used with round corners. We can see that piece of furniture had a long life : the fabric has been thorned at some places and the couch might even be lumpy. It is imperfect and yet they are still using it. It is still comfortable and functional for them. Basically, they won't fix what isn't broken.

Marc's family living room offers an abondance of textures and shapes as well. We have a wooden round coffee table. We see that the blankets have geometrical and lines patterns while The carpet the has more of an organic pattern. We can also see the carpet isn't aligned with any wall or furniture. The wooden floor has an herringbone pattern while the wall is made of bricks. Their library is full of books that are more or less organized. The earth-tones palette also gives off this warm feeling. From this single shot, we can see that that their living room is a very cozy environment and well lived in.

Just proves that Gabriel was never redeemed and I love that for him. He's still the big bad

so he died with that peaceful smile on his face because he was confident that... Adrien should bring them both back at some point 👍

yeah no shit he refused her help... Adrien was his solution... he wasn't just talking about his own wish. That line makes even more sense now. I assumed that in the last minute he gave up on his dream to bring back Emilie but no he just added himself to the list!!!

This is what I feel to, I cannot in good conscience think that Nathalie will betray marinette and I hope that isn't the case

Twist Theory: Gabriel didn't write that letter for Adrien. Nathalie did.

Explanation: Nathalie was all for telling Adrien in the London special. In this episode she is vehemently against it. That is a big swing. Yes there might be plausible reasons for her change of heart but!

1)She has access to those boxes.

2)She undoubtedly knows how to copy Gabriel's handwriting after being his PA forever.

3)If Adrien found it alone, everything would be kept secret. She would be in a position to aid him *and* she knows who Ladybug is, job half done.

4)We know she's at least paying lip service to the Council of Evil. Until we see otherwise we need to assume she is trying to juggle Adrien's wellbeing with the desires of the council

4a)Assuming shadowy cabal is really a powerhouse, all of Gabe's wealth/success might be orchestrated by the council. Nathalié flipping them off might leave him broke, while aiding the council might let him be the new diamond.

Take all this and apply it to the situation: Marinette brings her the letter.

Nathalié needs to distance herself from it as far as possible. This is Ladybug right here in front of her, the person who beat Gabriel *with* all the miraculous. Nathalié can't take risks.

Gabriel had plenty of time to rope Adrien in. He had a built in programmable remote control at his disposal. 'Here are my instructions for if I die. Forget I told you until such time then remember everything.' was viable.

Letter in the pages of a book to be discovered maybe who knows when just doesn't feel very *Gabe*.

I really can't see the letter being some sort of ruse or betrayal. If she really wanted to turn on Marinette, Nathalie could just out her identity to the council.

Also, we saw how her belief in Gabriel's vision faded over the course of season 5. Heck, she even tried to take him out with a crossbow! I honestly think she's disillusioned with the council's mission, and is just trying to keep them from getting too suspicious about what's going on. And she's hiding it from Marinette because she thinks the girl is overly naive and will put herself and Adrien in danger in an attempt to persuade the council members to change their ways.

adrien prying the truth out of marinette by asking her 1000 yes or no questions while she raises her hand transmission-style but she keeps forgetting her right and left and every question sends them both further into acute despair

I really like how Marinette handled this. She knows that Nathaniel's likely to regret this, so she persuades him to let her hang onto the proofs. But she also agrees not to show them to anyone else in order to respect his present choice.

The Ruler ml thoughts

So I watched this episode and it wasnt touching but I liked the episode and I genuinely love the direction the show is going because literally everyone is being fleshed out and I love that so so much, miraculous actually feels like a show with more than just the love square. Once again I do not know how much I can say about this episode but I will try. spoilers below the gif as always.

Okay for a start while this episode didnt add much to the lore and was a slice of life episode, I quite liked it both the marcaniel moments and the little bits of Adrinette which btw I am so glad always makes into episodes, I also liked the way this episodes conflict was definitely more mature than some of the others and I like that they addressed the marcaniel relationship and now its crystal clear that the two are together and I love that for them because awwww, also I swear miraculous keeps getting better all because they give characters more depth first it was Sabrina, then Ivan and now Marc. Its just really really nice that the show is giving everyone enough time in the sun, though I do think the fights are getting shorter and while I dont mind that this is a clear shift from how the earlier seasons were, they're really diving into the complexities of the characters now which I love. ALSO HOW CUTE IS IT THAT MARC AND NATHANIEL REVEALED TO EACH OTHER!!!! Now if only adrien and marinette could do the same but I guess there is a lot of things left to deal with and a reveal will be complicated so I guess I should be grateful we dont have a reveal yet because at least they're together now, I'm going to talk about Marinette because she is still my favourite character.

So lets talk about Marinette, now first of all I love love love that she is back to the Marinette that helps and that she is basically marc and Nathaniel's biggest fan. I also really like that we see her comforting her friends a lot more now and I am lowkey proud of her as she shows the traits that made me like her completely, like shes sweet and I am so glad that hasnt changed. Its also kind of adorably cringe seeing her whole thing with being embarassed to sneeze because like Adrien would not care, speaking of adrien my god he is so sweet that I felt so bad for him because when she avoids him, he doesnt go, "why did she ignore me" he literally goes, "How do I make her stop ignoring me?" Also I guess it kinda goes with the theory that hes codependant on her sometimes which is concerning because while the golden retriever personality is adorable if its because of attachment issues its concerning because like it just shows fear I guess but then again I guess I am overthinking it. Now I guess I talk about Adrinette even if they werent there much.

OKAY FIRST OF ALL CAN I SAY JUST HOW AMAZING OF A BOYFRIEND ADRIEN IS??? Like look at him hes just genuinely so sweet and understanding and caring and also the way he wasnt that preturbed by the helicopter blowing the nose is so cute because man was literally pushed back but he made a joke out of it and that is so so cute. I would love to say more about them but well this was not an adrinette episode but a Marcaniel one but still I love the crumbs of Adrinette and that they are actually dating. Like when I first watched miraculous ladybug I never thought I'd actually get to see the dating phase. I thought that was just limited to lumity but it happened and I am so so happy. Anyway I think I want to talk about Nathaniel and Marinette and by proxy Nathaniel himself.

Okay theres not much to say about the Natheniel and Marinette friendship but there are things to say about the oh and Marinette and Marc too because I swear to god Marinette was such a good friend to both of them in this episode and that Marinette and Nathaniel hug was so so cute and then the way she comforted Marc and the way she went to confront Nath's mom is just so Marinette that it was nice to see, oh also Marc too, Like he actually sacrficed himself for nathaniel and that is so so cute and the post credits scene too like Nathaniel and Marc were being so so romantic that I wanted to hug both of them, honestly I am so so glad we are getting more on the side characters though I have to admit I kinda miss Alya and Marinette moment and I hope the next episode that comes out has them both. Also I am so so sorry that this is coming out in a random rush of thoughts but I have been surviving on 3 and a half hours of sleep today so bear with me.

Anyway onto Nath's family, it was really nice to catch a glimpse into his family and my god the fact that even he has kinda sub par parents is funny, its like most of the miraculous kids whos backstories we've seen have it except for Alya I guess oh and marinette, actually max too. Okay so maybe it is not a recurring trend but still interesting to see so many not so great parents but it keeps things interesting so lets goooo. Also throughout the episode, I was hoping Nath's mother would reveal her backstory as to why shes so protective but I guess its just the indian parent mentality and nothing too deep which is okay but sorta underwhelming. Then we have Nath's dad and he seems like a spineless parent so yeah poor Nathaniel so I am sure it meant a lot when Marinette and then Marc stood up for him. Also that whole interaction where they promised to protect each other was so so cute like awwwwwww but yeah overall good episode! I guess I can touch on ladynoir now though there really wasnt much.

So they didnt interact much but I kinda like them as partners in crime, its just another kind of cute but yeah I cannot believe im saying this but I kinda miss ladynoir too, like I am so so happy Adrinette happened over ladynoir but I wanted to see their friendship and I miss them because their friendship was precious but yeah heres to hoping for more ladynoir! On another note I kinda liked how both ladybug and cat noir were made victims and Nathaniel had to save the day. Just makes the miraculous world seem do much bugger you know? Now that we're getting all these backstories for everyone. Overall season 6 is the best season so far and I hope they keep it up.

Now I know there is a lot more I could write about the episode but my brain is finally dying so yes I'm going to sleep so byeeee

Miraculous Ladybug Dating Sim where you play as Marinette as she tries to build a romantic relationship with Adrien

It starts off all cute and sweet as Marinette tries to max her skills and social links to increase her chances of passing skill checks or learning important information about Adrien and his life so she can keep increasing that heart meter

But stuff starts getting weird

And the decisions start getting harder

And Marinette/the player starts to realise that there's a lot of stuff being learned that Adrien doesn't know

The choices become less about what would make Adrien happy and keep those hearts filling up, and more about what will keep him safe

Cause it turns out his family has done some really fucked up shit and he's none the wiser

And the game just keeps going, becoming less of a sugary sweet dating sim and more of a psycological horror

A "good ending" is no longer possible, so it all becomes about keeping the game going. Because if a slip is made, if Adrien finds out the truth, if the game ends - then what happens to Adrien? Does he disappear if the screen fades to black? Can he be saved if the game file is reset? Or will it be permanently game over?
