HEADCANON(SPOILERS!!)
Levi and Hange always have a certain day where they just drink tea together. And whenever they have tea, for each and everyone of their comrades that died, there’s an empty seat for them with their deceased comrade’s favourite food. When Sasha died, both Levi and Hange went to Niccolo and asked him for food because Sasha would have loved it. Of course, Niccolo approved and his food was served right in front of Sasha’s empty chair.  Just for that one day, they pretend that Sasha is still with them. However, that’s just pretend. At the end of the day, when tea time is over, they have to face reality that Sasha is no longer with them.

Levi, playing with Hange's hair: Your hair feels soft and look pretty today
Hange: Pull it then
Levi: Huh?
Hange: Huh
Mike, who just wants to eat peacefully: Seriously!? Do I have to witnessed this shit all the time?

Writing for me is an escape, a solitary i could go into if my life is stressing me out or spiraling me towards a breakdown. Most of my fics are self-indulgent, i made it for myself but i still want to share it with everybody who loves levihan and my other ships like I do.
But the thing is, preferences are innate in people.
I don't expect everyone to like what I wrote. I don't expect them to read through it and reach the end. If ever they did reach the finale and they didn't leave any indication that they liked or loved it, it's fine for me - yet not totally, of course. (I'm lying to myself if i say the opposite)
The point here is, writers are humans, too. We tend to pour our feelings to what we're writing - the emotions that we can't tell other people; the silly daydreams about our favorite pair that we don't have the chance to see in canon; the alternative universes aka possibilities that we want our ship to experience. It's our craft, our sorrows, our reveries. Our works are our everything.
And in my opinion, kudos and positive comments are sometimes our drives in writing. Well, for me, that is the case.
But comments that were intentionally written as slander for the work are unavoidable - inevitable even. There will always be someone out there who would type their rage for the work they had read, even if it is tagged properly or they are warned about the content the work has. or even saying that someone's writing is shitty.
Yet I'm in no way invalidating the readers' emotions. If they deemed that it wasn't appropriately tagged and the tags didn't suffice as a warning, from a writer's point of view, you can talk to me directly or sent me an ask about the tag you would like me to include and I would gladly do it.
Now down to the main point of this post.
I think fanfiction or ao3 tags in general made people momentarily forget that the books out there - published and tangible books that we can buy in the bookstores or grab in libraries - don't have archive warnings.
It will not warn you if there will be graphic content in it, problematic things that real-life had made us experienced. There are no Rape/Non-Con or Major Character Death Archive Warnings on the first page that will make you throw away the book.
No. None.
And life in general doesn't have that.
However, I'm still thankful for ao3 for giving us that feature. Reading fanfictions to people is also their escape like writing fanfictions is also writers' solace. The tags are the gates that you as a reader must read thoroughly. Examine your emotions first if you want to read a work with tags that made you skeptical in reading it.
AO3 made the readers responsible for the works they will consume through the tagging system. AO3 made the writers responsible for warning their future readers about the theme their work has.
But still, we must remember that reality will never warn us if it chose to fuck with us. Learn to separate fiction from reality. Do not forget that you're still living in your reality.
And...
Don't hate other people for your fandom experience when in the first place, you must be responsible for it all. You don't like angst and there's an angst tag on it? Then don't click it. You don't like fanfics where the other half of your ship will die? Then don't click it. Don't berate the writers who tagged their work correctly cuz you still chose to read it despite the warnings.
Those writers who don't tag their works properly tho, be responsible, too.

Hi! I'm not sure if someone already asked about you this. Do you think Levi, there was a part of him that... he really regrets letting Hange go? Thanks.. and thanks for your wonderful meta and blog.
sorry for the late reply! thank you for your kind words!
yes I do think there is a feeling of regret there. I mean levi couldn't even look at hanji when they left. it's as if levi didn't want to face the decision he made. I think levi only truly accepted that hanji is really dead was when they reunited briefly in the paths. he was able to send them off while looking at them in the eye as opposed to what we saw in 132.
although I do wonder what levi thought when he learned they actually have a flying titan with them? it's unfortunate they only found out right after hanji has made the sacrifice.
over all I think he was able to accept the way things are and move on with his life but maybe there is still a part of him that is thinking of the 'what if' from time to time. I am getting that kind of feel from the panel of levi looking at the plane in 139.

LEVIHAN SCHOOL FIELD TRIP HEADCANONS/SCENARIOS!!
Hange is the type to be so excited for the field trip that they will buy their food for the trip one week in advance and then they would eat it all up before the field trip even started.
And because of that, Hange doesn't have any food to bring with them on the day of the field trip. Well, they can always sneak and get food from Levi's bag. They sit together after all and Levi doesn't seem to mind.
Also, Hange takes the window seat.
Levi and Hange will play "I spy" on the way because Hange proclaims that they are bored. Levi always wins the game because of Hange's shitty eyesight.
They went to the zoo and Hange is absolutely ecstatic, they did a much better job of explaining the different types of species than the tour guide itself😂
Hange always takes a picture every second that it reached the point where they ran out of phone storage.
Levi allowed them to use his phone for taking pictures which was a bad idea since now his phone is filled with more than 1,026 pictures of snakes and other species.
Hange ends up straying away from the group because their curiosity got the best of them. Levi followed after them and then tada they were on their own trip, separated from the rest of the class .
Levi as always, scolds Hange for being so reckless but ended up going along with their shenanigans anyway and went along to the places Hange wants to visit even if it wasn't planned for the school trip.
Hange buys Levi the most ridiculous stuff from the zoo's souvenir store like some kind of uhhhhh cheap panda perfume. And even though he complains, he keeps it anyway.
One of the weird things Hange bought from the souvenir store was a rubber frog ring. And Hange bought two of those frog rings so that Hange and Levi can match. Hange wears the frog ring proudly and so did Levi...only because he was forced to.
Levi and Hange talk about Zeke and how he gets along quite well with the monkeys and how the monkeys seem to hate Levi.
There are times when Hange gets quiet because they were a bit motion sick. At times like these, Levi lets Hange lay their head on his shoulders for the rest of the trip.
Mike, Nanaba, and Erwin would secretly take pictures of Levi and Hange like some kind of stalker.

I just think that Levihan as highschool students would be the type to stay behind because Levi will be cleaning and Hange just stays because they go home together and Hange needs to wait for him to finish cleaning whether they like it or not.
And and and and when that happens Hange usually starts a mess, like initiating a sword fight using a broom and then using some broken locker door as a shield as they chase Levi throughout the classroom😂
Levi would try to avoid paying attention to Hange at first but failed and ended up joining in Hange's shenanigans, also using a broom like them and then dueled with Hange.
Of course, they got caught by a teacher😂

I have this headcanon that levi and hanji had always avoided venturing at the topic of marriage or just life after the war in general. they never discussed to not talk about it, it was simply an unspoken rule between them. they knew the risks of their job and they are scared to get invested in an idea of a life together since they put their lives at risk everyday. their futures were too uncertain, they wouldn't allow themselves to hope. but then that day arrives. it was like a scene playing out from their worst nightmares. at that moment all hanji wanted was to take him to a place where he could be safe forever. maybe that's why hanji ends up saying if they should just stay in the forest together.

I swear levi and hanji's bond is just so pure. it's really something special and I would never get tired of saying this. most people would probably think that they wouldn't work well together in the long run because "they are too different" but they aren't actually that different? from what we have scene right at the moment they were introduced they are already close. right from the start isayama established that yes these two characters are friends. yes they have different personalities—levi is quiet and reserved while hanji is energetic. levi likes cleaning and it is said that hanji forgets to take care of their hygiene. but that's not all there is to their characters! also if you ask me I think hanji being unhygienic is just something that got blown way out of proportion because of the existing side materials. I don't remember this ever being addressed in the manga or anime? I think that hanji just gets too distracted with their work that they would sometimes forget to take showers. it's not that they hate being clean but rather they don't want to get taken away from their research. I don't think levi resents them for that either? it seems to me that he is worried about hanji's health that's why he has taken it upon himself to remind them to bathe.
if you look at their characters on suface value, they look like complete opposite. but if you look deeper, you would notice how similar they are. both have the same penchant for shit jokes. hanj is the only character we've seen respond to levi's jokes and the only one who dares to challenge levi's occasional sarcastic remarks. the two also share similar ideologies and are very compassionate and selfless people. they strongly value life—a common theme about levi is how always tells his comrades before battle to not die. one of the aspects of his character arcs is to give meanings to the deaths of his fallen comrades. whenever hanji makes plans or inventions what they always keep in mind is to minimize deaths. hanji was able to achieve that through the invention of executioner from hell. under hanji's command the scouts were able to wipe out the titans in the island by while avoiding casualties. they carried the wills of their comrades. levi and hanji both believed that the rumbling isn't something that their comrades would want. they are two of the very few characters who were shown to be vocally against the rumbling.
another set of similarities they have is how the two are regarded as different. hanji is often seen as eccentric because of their genius while levi is socially awkward and easily misunderstood. hanji is viewed as odd for their unconventional ideas and even though levi might tease them sometimes, it is undeniable that levi highly values their insights and acknowledges that they are an intelligent individual. levi is often misunderstood because of how crude he speaks at times but hanji sees way past that and knows of the kind mind behind that facade.
all these similarities are what allowed them to have that very deep understanding. that understading between them is consistently developed throughout the series. you can see it with the way they talk during missions and how comfortable they are with each other's presence. they are each other's confidants because they know they would never judge the other. need proof? just read 126. that deep level of understanding is the strongest aspect of their bond—it's what allowed them to let go of each other. that's where their love manifests.
