Do you allow someone else is making money off of your artwork bc I know someone that is?

No, the one thing that I don’t allow is the monetization of the translations I make. Reason is that any revenue or donations should rightfully go to the original artist that should be in every description of a post. If you see someone that is making money by directly using my translations, please report them.

I don’t make any money from this because I get the approval of artist to translate and this is hobby, not a way to earn money. Also, I think I may have allowed people to translate/post the translations somewhere else, but not for the sake of monetization. >:(

Okay, I haven’t been on this blog in a bit since I’m still very busy with irl things, but whoever this is I don’t want you to think like this. I don’t want to treat this ask as a joke (it might be, might not be) because depression, mental illness, and suicidal thoughts are very serious things. I helped people with depression and anxiety, and the process to get out of it is difficult and can take a long time. I’ve been hit with depression for a bit too and I know what that can feel like sometimes. Depression can make you feel exhausted, unmotivated, and jaded to the point where sometimes you don’t know what to do.

Just know that it’s okay when you are depressed to not worry about others think, but to focus on yourself and finding a way to alleviate the feeling of depression. It can’t be fixed all of the sudden by “just being happier”. My advice is to find something to take your mind off of things and try to enjoy something. For me, I turned to exercising and forcing myself to go out more. That helped me physically and mentally, but the most important thing is to find something that helps you.

Lastly, know that there are people that love you from family or friends. They would be devastated if you hurt yourself. They’ll be there for you and always care for you.  And if you don’t think that, then let me say that this dumb translator loves you anon! ╰(✿´⌣`✿)╯♡

(sorry for the seriousness, but I’ve been meeting a lot of people who think like this in the past year and I don’t someone else to think like it if I can help it)

But in all seriousness, I was working day and night at a job I wasn’t particularly happy with since it was physically demanding (I was working from 5-6 days a week, even when I was supposed to be on break, before I quit). Also I’m in my final quarter for university and things are pretty difficult so I’m spending most of my time to focus on finishing strong and finding a career for me. As much as I’d love to do nothing but translate fanart like I did in the past when I had much more free time, right now translating isn’t the best use of my time. When I’m finally “stress-free” when I graduate, I’ll probably have the energy/time to translate. So I guess my estimation will be around March-ish? when I will be translating, but until then I’m focused on real life stuff!

To answer your question, I honestly do not know. A lot of the comics I translate sometimes have a more lewd panel here and there so it’ll be hard to find things that are solely fluff (which is more of my thing). As for the moment I’ll probably stick around and still translate things, but if the algorithm they implement does not perform how it’s supposed to (i.e. flagging perfectly sfw content) then idk what I’ll do since I don’t really have another place I post...

Hey everyone, just wanted to make a statement regarding the removal of adult content via Dec 17th. I haven’t seen Tumblr in a while due to being busy with work/projects but I’ve been seeing articles regarding this topic. Overall I’ll try to still translate when I’m finished with this quarter (Dec 10th) but it still makes me feel pretty bummed out by the whole ordeal.

I haven’t been on tumblr for a long time, but even I knew way back when this site was a place for people to express themselves. And even if that way was to be more explicit than everyday life, that was those peoples’ way of being free and it was fine as long as nobody really harmed someone else. So taking that freedom away due to either negligence from the management/coding team or losing revenue via the app store, it is a travesty.

Also as a coder/developer it is sad to see that after years of getting user reports of illegal content/bot accounts that rather than putting more resources into making a more robust and secure filter, the management decided to gut essentially a decent portion of their userbase. I’ll have to remove some of the older comics/doujinshi (like Lifeline) I translated as a result, but due to the way the current algorithm works regarding flagging, I don’t know what content I release in the future will be deemed as explicit.

In anycase, thank you all for reading and thank you for the 10k followers! But...I wished I could be happier about that :/

Just a little update for everyone: The reason why I’ve been mostly MIA is that I’m in the last half-year for uni and for some reason, I’ve been put in the position as a SCRUM (Agile Programming) Leader for 2 coding projects, one of them being a senior design project, for classes.

So that in combination with me working/exercising/interviewing/networking mostly every day, my free time is not as much as it used to be (my average free time is about 1-3 hours around 9pm everyday so far). Just wanted to update y’all because it’s not like I don’t want to translate, but I’m just gettin buried with irl stuff and being mama bird to some people. So whenever I get the chance, I’ll translate some comics here and there. But sorry for not being as active as I was a while back!

Well I am Vietnamese, but I was born and raised in Southern California. About donating or ko-fi

Okay, I don’t usually make a post about this, but I want to address to people that have been messaging me about asking commissions/donating to me for translations. I get that it is nice to support someone that does something you enjoy and I am flattered that you would want to donate, but I said it a while back and I’ll say it again:

Do not give me any type of money so that I would translate what you want.

I have two main reasons for this. The first is that I translate someone else’s work that gave me permission to do so. So I’d think how the artist would feel if I profited off of their work like “wtf dude, I gave you the okay to translate, just so you would make money off of my work?”. I don’t want to do that. 

The second reason is that I’ve done and do translating as a hobby. If I suddenly got paid,  I would get flooded with requests and I rather not make what I translate dependent on the highest bidder. Though I am not currently taking requests at the moment, people are welcome to tell me what they want to be translated. If I can get permission and I like the fanart that you want translated after taking a look, then I might bump up the queue. I just want to translate on my time as a hobby. I could apply to a publisher and get paid that way if I wanted to pursue that, but for now I just want translation as something I enjoy.  ┐(￣ヮ￣)┌

But let me stress this one last time:
