About

“far east” is a project started by JoeLius DuBois Porter in 2019. Invoking the same principle of Venn Diagrams, the relationships between different figures of pop culture are illustrated. When not conjoined the figures remain in their original form, but change once they intercede. Through variations in color scheme, wordplay and composition a new interpretation of both figures that isn’t reliant on the nostalgia of one is formed.

Navigating The Site

Under each title of a piece there are tags (ex. ‘atlanta’) that correspond with one of the figures shown. When you click a tag all pieces that are related to that tag will display under a new page.
