Med @fairuzfan’s blog got terminated by tumblr which is obviously unjust for all the people who rely on them for resources on Palestine, but it now leaves Hussam’s helpgazachildren donation drive without a point of communication, and has deleted all previous information Med had shared about the drive.

Please remember to keep donating to helpgazachildren as Hussam’s hard work getting resources to families in Gaza should not have to be hindered while Med is working on getting their blog back 🤍🇵🇸

Allowing a Palestinian blogger to just be terminated out of nowhere sets an extremely dangerous precedent not only for other Palestinian bloggers, but also the pro-Palestine movement in general. Med already dealt with this when their previous blog, helpgazachildren, got spontaneously terminated as well. This should not be normalized behavior on the Tumblr staff’s part. We should always be highlighting and checking deliberate targeting campaigns like this.

To bring this to the staff’s attention, please contact Tumblr Support directly and relay Med’s termination to them, as well as the reasons why it’s not fair conduct. The key is to specify that it’s a terminated account under the category dropdown—otherwise Tumblr won’t get to it as quickly.

Please reblog this so people can report this en masse. The fact that this is twice now that this has happened is insane. Tumblr did not get back to Med when she tried to contact them about helpgazachildren, so I feel as though this needs to be spotlighted for Tumblr to address it in any way.

Btw Israel let Palestinians celebrate not one (1) holiday in peace. They didn’t grant Christian Palestinians access to Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, they actively attacked families who were already starving at Iftar during Ramadan, and now there are several reports of families being killed on Eid al-Fitr—a sacred multi-day holiday practiced by lots of Arabs. It breaks my heart imagining the Palestinian families in Gaza right now, most of whom are spending Eid mourning loved ones who were taken by Israeli strikes. Most of us will never understand the sheer magnitude of that pain.

Gratefulness is used by capitalism to create a sense of false scarcity amongst the people. We are told to be grateful for what we have in comparison to what others don't have. We are told we must protect and horde our "blessings" lest they be taken from us, because there isn't enough to go around.

The truth is we should be grateful because God can sustain everyone. We are abundant in blessings. We have a capacity to feed every mouth, to house every body, to make sure every person is cared for. We can not individually possess God's blessings, they belong to all of us.

Going through el-shab-hussein's fundraiser masterpost [link], I found the fundraiser for Belal Amzi Msallam and his family, who are, according to the latest update from their GoFundMe, in Central Gaza, trying to raise enough money to escape through Rafah. They are very low on funds and desperately need money, since Belal's father is elderly and diabetic and needs treatment for a leg injury, and his mother's mental health has declined.

Because of this, I've decided to open art commissions to help raise funds for them. If you send me proof of donation to their GoFundMe, I will draw you either a sketch or a chibi, for the prices listed above. Any donation counts, so please, if you can, consider helping them! If you can't, please share this and the fundraiser masterpost, as there are many other families who also need help leaving Gaza.

Coming here for advice. I was planning on buying a St George statue recently, and when I got to the store, I ended up also buying an Our Lady of Grace statue, based on pure intuition. When (re)converting, I tried to build a closer relationship with Holy Mary, and prayed the rosary a few times, but have been lacking in this regard. Maybe this is a sign I should keep trying? But I feel bad praying for my own issues, when I feel i should pray for others in these hard times.

i feel like that last bit sounds like you’re struggling a bit with scrupulosity….. perhaps? i say this because it sounds very familiar. it sounds like me when i first reverted five years ago.

i think what has helped me (as someone who struggles with religious OCD and scrupulosity) has been fully settling in the fact that God knows your heart. meditating on that. focusing on that.

don’t feel bad for praying for your own issues. that is not an apprehensible or selfish. it is so noble that you want to pray for everyone else, but you are allowed to ask for yourself.

in cases of this type of scrupulosity, keeping a prayer journal has been fundamental for me. what i used to do (when i was going THROUGH IT) was give myself “limit” of daily requests for other people. i’d give myself *JUST* five bullet points of causes to pray for others (whether it be global or for people in my life) and then i’d write down at a MINIMUM three obligatory personal asks (whether it’d be increase in a virtue, help from the Holy Spirit for an uncoming exam, even just… “hey God, i want to have a good nights rest tonight”)

st. thérèse is my patron saint precisely because she was always riddled with immense guilt. i think she’s a good friend to rely on for these types of troubles. also, she disliked praying the rosary a lot. so you could find solace in that.

don’t be super demanding of yourself. do not wear yourself thin. because honestly, a daily Examen prayer and a rosary whenever you can is alright. again, God knows your heart, so do what feels natural and spiritually fulfilling.

yes, we are supposed to live our entire lives in prayer. that’s the goal. but for fresh reverts/converts? we need baby steps.

i love the rosary, but if you’re struggling with it… maybe try out just praying two Mysteries for now. maybe???

i’d also recommend trying to find a spiritual director! that changed my life.

Update, I might go to a spiritual center on Saturday with a friend, we shall see, so maybe that'll help clear my head

Having very complicated feelings with religion and spirituality recently, not sure how to deal with them yet. It's just a bad combination of never having been taught about the faith I was supposed to follow (so not knowing what to do) and not knowing how to keep having faith when so many horrible things are happening (common issue, I think)
