Mexico City Street Style

Buckle up because this week we are heading to Ciudad de México!

Mexico City is known for its bold and eclectic street fashion. A city rooted in rich culture and deep history, Mexico City's street fashion does not disappoint. With inspiration from Frida Kahlo and Mexican indigenous communities, Mexico City's fashion is beautiful!

Starting off, people in Mexico city like to wear brighter shades like red or orange. Adding a pop of color to your fit is a must when visiting the streets of Mexico City.

Under her blazer, she wears a Huipil blouse.

Next, we've also been seeing mesh fabric tops with different embroidered flower designs. This could be styled as a blouse with flower design on it, or mesh/lace sleeves as seen in the photos below. If you want to look like a local we suggest leaning toward vibrant shades of clothing like orange or red. Hoops are a must as well!

Dior held a cruise fashion show in Mexico City reflecting Mexican culture, the artist Frida Kahlo, and feminism. Inspired by Frida Kahlo's self-portrait, the pink mesh dress was created because she wore it in her painting. Kahlo spoke about gender boundaries and identity specifically toward woman which was incredible for her time! We've been seeing the mesh look throughout the streets of Mexico but this fashion show is more inspiration for what to wear and consider when you visit.

Dresses and skirts styled with cowboy boots is another fashionable look seen throughout the streets of Mexico City thanks to Vaqueros!

Her dress holds symbolism of the Mexican flag with the eagle design and more specifically the colors of Mexico!

Another popular style we've seen on the streets of Mexico City would be the layering of clothing! Wearing long sleeve with short sleeve on top, or wearing 3 different tops is a style in Mexico City. If you're wondering if you have too many layers on well you probably don't so the more layers the better!!

Lastly, shoes are important! Wearing cowboy boots or sneakers would be your go to when visiting Mexico City. Men or women can wear cowboy boots as they are very popular throughout Mexico. Here's some photo examples of the different types below:

Barcelona Street Style

Pack your bags, we're going to Barcelona!

Barcelona is a city known for its beautiful and historical architecture. However, many may not know that this city is filled with fashion-forward individuals.

Elevating sportswear to the next level is something that people roaming the streets of Barcelona have made into a trend.

Turning the spotlight more onto the women's wear in the city, gingham print is all the rave! A fun top, bottom, or set is the way to go in order to fit in with the trendy locals of Barcelona.

Barcelona is also home to many exotic beaches. Beach wear is something to keep in mind when deciding on an outfit when going out on the town in this city. Crochet clothing is something that is very on-trend this season if you are trying to look like a local beach babe!

If you want to be cool and comfortable walking the hot streets of Barcelona but also want to look like a local, you need to add a long flowy dress to your closet!

Another staple to pair with your dress in the city is a comfortable cardigan. If you want to spend the whole day out and about in the city throw on a nice light cardigan to add to your look!

Sneakers! Sneakers! Sneakers!

If you are going to be walking around this city all day long make sure you have a fashionable sneaker you can wear in order to be on trend with the street- style.

London Street Style

Grab your favorite trench coat because today we are traveling to the UK to explore the loud street style of London!

As one of the four major fashion capitals, London has a rich street style culture with a dense history. London's street style is known for being eclectic with the mixing of bold textures, prints, patterns, and colors. Londoners also commonly pair unexpected items and seamlessly blend high streetwear with lower streetwear.

Brightly unapologetic, the use of color is an essential part of London streetwear. Simple pops of red have quickly become the go-to!

(Faux) Fur is in! From colorful and playful faux fur accessories to the mob-wife aesthetic coats, fur is a staple yet fun texture for the Londoners wardrobe.

Historically popularized by London's fashion queen herself, Vivienne Westwood, plaids are basically neutrals on the streets of London.

Lastly, denim is making a comeback on the streets of London! Wether it is denim on denim, colorful denim, or paired with a unique twist the classic textile has no bounds.

London streetwear is bold and unapologetic, from the intense layering, bright colors, and contrasting textures, the creativity is truly unmatched!

This week we'll be travelling to the major Asian street fashion city of Seoul, Korea! Take a look at what's trending this week in Seoul

Seoul is a city known for its neutral colored clothing. Take a look at these effortless yet fashionable looks seen on the streets of Seoul this week!

This week we are taking a look into what individuals who walk the streets of one of the fashion capitals of the world are wearing!

Paris is a city known for their high-end and on-trend fashion. These two pictures we can see that long trench coats tied in with a boot is something seen when one is walking the streets in pairs.

Coats are a staple must-have that one must have in their closet in order to look on-trend and a Paris local!

Dresses on Dresses!

Dresses are a popular piece everyone must have for this season in Paris. Being able to take more of a "party dress" look and turn it into more casual wear!

For the Men!

Now let's talk about what the men of the Paris streets are wearing. Leather jackets this season are all the rave! If you are a guy who wants to look fashionable you must get a leather jacket!

Plaid is a very on-trend pattern you will see a lot of this season walking through the streets of Paris! Being able to incorporate this pattern into your outfits will take them to the next level.

Playing with Colors!

Something you will see in the streets of Paris on 2024 is someone wearing either really bright colors or really dull colors. Playing with the ideas of lights and darks will help one be more creative and trendy with their outfits!

What the Los Angeles It-Girl is Wearing Today

This week we are taking it back to the USA and will be looking at the street style of our very own sunny hometown Los Angeles!

The Southern California culture is known for its unique laid back, comfortable, and casual street style. That being said, it never lacks boldness and individuality. Los Angeles is a true melting pot of a bunch of different cultures and its street style is a direct representation of that.

Athleisure trends have long influenced the it-girls wardrobe in Los Angeles. Athleisure in Los Angeles spans all the way from the Juicy tracksuits of the 2000's to the rise of brands like Alo and Lululemon seen today.

The next key staple in any LA native's wardrobe are 'elevated basics'. This refers to basics like the classic white tee or blue denim jean, but made from high quality materials with a modern twist.

One popular LA based brand that is known for these types of basics is Los Angeles Apparel.

Skims is another super popular LA brand with Kim Kardashian as the face that started as an inclusive shapewear brand, but slowly integrated elevated basics such as their shirts, hoodies, and dresses.

Last but not least, LA is known for its streetwear scene with popular brands like Stussy, Obey, and GOLF.

Today we're going to take a look at some of the street style that represents Milan's influential fashion scene!

Origins of Tokyo's Streetwear Scene

Tokyo's streetwear scene grew exponentially and slowly became a huge influence starting during the 80's and 90's. Now well known streetwear designers in the western world, Nigo (owner of BAPE), Rei Kawakubo (founder of Comme des Garçons), Issey Miyake, and Junya Watanabe found their popularity in the backstreets of Harajuku.
