There are fat girls with fat arms. Fat girls with no ass. Fat girls with no boobs. Fat girls with fat rolls. Fat girls with fat on their backs. Fat girls with chubby cheeks. Brown fat girls. Black fat girls. Fat girls that don’t care about makeup. Fat girls that don’t care about the way they dress. Fat girls with fat everywhere and not just the aesthetically pleasing and accepted parts to have fat. Fat girls with stretch marks on their arms, thighs and boobs. Stop representing fat girls as if we all had an enormous ass and boobs. We need more representation of fat girls that come in all shapes, colors and sizes.

remember the last time you thought to yourself, this is the best day of my life? you will have days like that again. days where you’re calm and radiating light, where your heart is full of love, where you feel like you will be just fine, despite everything you had to go through. on days like that you’ll know the truth, not the lies that your negative emotions tell you. I hope you have a day like that soon.

You are good at something, stop lying to yourself. You’re good at breaking down comic book plots, cooking ramen perfectly, making your friends happy, knowing the time without looking at a clock, getting the perfect ending at RPG’s, or figuring out the twist ending to movies. Don’t let society tell you your talents are meaningless because they don’t serve an economical purpose. Your talents reflect your interests and passions, and what’s important to you is important.

“La representación importa, e importa por que podemos criar a una generación de personas que no se lleven todos esos mensajes con ellos. Sin representación, de una forma inconsciente piensas que no importas, así que tenemos que ver diferentes representaciones de belleza y mujeres de color para poder saber que quienes somos esta bien.” (x)
Todos somos hermosos.

I work at a daycare with infants.
One of our baby girls is fat, in the 99th percentile for her age. She is super cute and sweet. Lately, she has been sick with various breathing issues, so she has been reluctant to take her bottles. Normally, she’ll take 4 ounces of formula at lunch and 8 ounces in the afternoon. Today, I was lucky to get to her take 5 all day.
There was a substitute covering a lunch break in my classroom today. We emphasized to her that we need to keep trying to get the baby to drink her bottle until she finished it. She said, “Why are you guys so worried about taking her bottle?”
My coworker replied, “That’s where all her nutrients are. She needs the nutrients and the water.”
To which the substitute replied, “But she’s so fat. She doesn’t need it.”
Thin privilege is a small, pretty baby getting better childcare because the caretaker doesn’t think she’s too fat to be allowed to eat.
