she’s glad for his company. the others are good, she loves them, but none of them are soul. when he sits next to her, she sighs, leaning against him to rest her head on his shoulder. as she has in the past years on this day, she doesn’t know how she feels. tired, maybe. a step away from empty.

               he’s never quite gotten used to maka’s vulnerable times. he’s used to seeing her strong, ready to take on the world. it’s jarring, at times, and he knows that’s when she needs him most. he slings an arm around her shoulder, rubbing it gently. he shouldn’t have forgotten. he should have done something to distract her or to try and make it easier. “maka...” what the hell was he supposed to say. “let’s go to the book store or somethin’. i’ll getcha one.”

               his body is burning with an indescribable heat, heart stuttering in his chest as he struggled to get air into his lungs. was he really going to die here? for all his boasting and heroic words, the possibility of death had always drifted in and out of his understanding. as though to mock him, his blood felt like it was boiling inside of him, shadowy drops staining his clothes, maka’s hands--it was all black. if only that red demon would stop cackling in his ear.

               “ma...ka....” he hates how weak his voice sounds, cracking in the middle. he grunted, trying to force himself to concentrate. he needed to transform--they needed to defeat the horrors before them, soul had said he’d die for his meister, right? he wasn’t going to let her die too. he was still conscious, he could fix his failures from that church in Italy, where he’d left her alone and vulnerable.

               the pain seems distant now, as though it’s no longer him experiencing it. he grits his teeth, allowing himself to shift in her hands, replacing feverish flesh with slick metal. “let’s....let’s finish this guy off.” he tries not to think too hard about how his vision is beginning to tunnel. / answered for @beatmadness.

               “hey, maka.” he walks with that loping ease--as though his limbs, too, had been pieced together to some uheard rhythm. “what’s up?” he flops unceremoniously next to her, silver brow raised in question. “tsubaki said you were actin’ strange earlier.” / starter for @beatmadness.

we need to have a talk about how original content does not equal what we write in the rpc. authors create villains and situations that mimic reality as a social commentary. it is not the same as writing these characters in our threads. 

characters that resemble n*zis are not ok to write. n*zi’s are a real fucking threat that exist in the real world. when authors and screenwriters create this content, they are doing it to comment on reality. it’s not ok to then take that content and glorify it through rp.

take star wars. the original series was a commentary on n*zism and imperialism. the new series is a commentary on neo-n*zis and the ideology that has been forgotten in a generation. taking ky.lo re.n and saying “uwu he’s my baby who did nothing wrong” is not only harmful to the people who were persecuted by these groups (jews, roma, political dissidents, homosexuals, etc.) but also to the creator themselves. these are not characters who are supposed to be glorified and liked. these are characters who did things wrong and reflect the state of society.

sn.k/ao.t—that’s a whole nut i don’t want to crack right now, but it is so obviously a commentary (and glorification) of n*zi germany. this content is harmful to jewish people and everyone else who suffered because of the third reich. this is a perfect example of harmful commentary that should never be replicated or rewritten through the rpc. 

fiction parallels reality and thus effects how people view the real world. content is not separate from real life and never has been. so don’t give me that bullshit about how writing n*zi’s is ok because it’s fake. it’s not.
