SEASON 2, BABY! I am excited to see what this new season holds. I am not looking forward to spending so much time with Anthony but I guess if needs must. Let's do this!

This is the very first glimpse we see of Kate. WHY IS SHE LOOKING DIRECTLY INTO HER HOOD AND THEN SMIRKING LIKE SHE'S SEEN ANYTHING BUT BLUE SATIN???

I do love the first encounter for Kate and Anthony. It's fun and there's a bit of banter. I like it.

😂😂😂 Kate's a proper bitch, I love it😂😂😂 one of those ladies who can sound so polite and charming while cutting someone down the whole time.

I am not a huge fan of the fact that now that we know Penelope is Lady Whistledown, ALL OF A SUDDEN, Eloise has only bad things to say about her when the entirety of last season she was speaking her praises... Really?

Okay, are we really pitting to sisters against each other this season? I don't know how I feel about that...

Sometimes you can just see the set up as it happens with Kate interested and then walking out. You just KNOW she is going to overhear him talking crap about the girls in the season and then we're going to have another haters to lovers season. I was hoping for some variety.

Except, as I watch the scene... He really didn't say anything too bad. I mean, still not great but nothing horrible. I don't even like Anthony but he didn't say anything to warrant what I am sure is to be unnecessary amounts of disdain.

As an older sister, I really do like Kate's character. I don't like how rude she is, but that's neither here nor there.

THESE TWO LOOK STUNNING TOGETHER!!! I love these two dresses together and Eloise looks so beautiful!! But then he does promptly whisk her away from her first caller. What a G.

Eloise is terrified about having her first ball of the season and how does her favourite brother and man who knows her the best, Benedict, help her to relax... He moos at her😂

I really do wish there was a bit MORE to Eloise and Penelope's friendship. It is the only strong non-familial friendship in the whole show and they're constantly keeping secret from each other and turning a blind eye to each other's pain... But this was a beautiful conversation and a very aesthetic scene.

Season 1, Episode 8

The actress for Marina is so good. I don't particularly like the character much but the actress is fucking wonderful.

Let's nitpick every small thing that is said, shall we? Simon says "You must believe that I am doing this for your own good." Am I to believe that part of the reason he doesn't want children is because he is scared they will be "simple" like he was? He doesn't want Daphne to have to deal with a child who might stutter... One can only imagine he's traumatized by how his father reacted to him stuttering.

The way I DON'T CARE about Siena and Anthony. Get rid of her, then bring her back, get rid of her and bring her back... I don't care.

I can't listen to Lady Bridgerton talk about her husband, it will make me sob.

..... You have got to be kidding me... it can't possibly .... is it?? .... if it is I will fucking scream because that is BRILLIANT!!!! NO ONE PAYS ATTENTION TO HER!! Everyone looks right over her!! Even Eloise has "more important" things !!!!! WHAAAAT?! AND calling Eloise a WORTHY OPPONENT??

Also, I literally only realised when Simon said we have family traditions that the Bridgerton children are named in alphabetical order😂😂

Prudence's dress is really beautiful and I LOOOOVE the jewellery!!

Philippa looks GORGEOUS😍 Oh, I love that colour scheme with her hair! She is stunning!!

Then, MOMENT OF THE EPISODE:

Eloise protecting Lady Whistledown from being caught. I loved this, even if she did completely ignore Penelope's state of distress in order to achieve it.

Philippa looking stunning and her and her MAN being ADORABLE!! They are so cute together!!

Bridgerton Watch Diaries S1E7

Welcome back to an unemployed, out-of-touch, charlatan watching Bridgerton for the first time. I am not part of the fandom. I haven't read the books. These are my first impressions, thoughts, and maybe even predictions about the show as I watch it. (I do know some things just because I'm chronically on Pinterest).

Season 1, Episode 7

There is such a difficult conversation to have about what's going on with Daphne and Simon. I did NOT think this is what Bridgerton was going to be about. It's so hard to feel bad for Simon because of the way he lied to Daphne. There is a very strong different between cannot and will not and he LIED to her and he knowingly put her in a situation where she'd have to sacrifice something she very badly wanted. It may not make sense to all but motherhood is a dream to many and for that dream to be taken away is heartbreaking. I can fully stand behind Daphne's upset here.

HOWEVER, we HAVE to talk about consent. We have to. Because the truth of the matter is that Daphne assaulted Simon. He did NOT consent to what happened. He did NOT consent to what she did to him and he has a right to feel violated. I don't agree with lying to your wife but I can understand how hard this is hitting him because of how strongly he feels for the vow he made to his father...

This is so tough to talk about...

Lord Granville and Benedict remind me of Lord Henry and Dorian... I'm by no means saying he's a hedonist (although, really?) who is trying to tempt Benedict to the dark side, by no means... But the comparison could be made for sure.

Benedict and Eloise's relationship is genuinely one of my favourite, if not my favourite, in the whole show. The only close second is Daphne and Rose.

Haha, okay. I see what's happening. The slight moment in the previous episode, and now Benedict stopping to pick up Delacroix. Eloise is going to be convinced it's her. My guess is that it is definitely not.

Was that disappointment on Simon's face at the end?

And now, OUTFIT OF THE EPISODE:

Lady Bridgerton, once again, is a picture of beauty in this burgundy silk gown. The jewellery. It's all so simple but SO elegant.

I love Daphne's gown here. It's gorgeous!!

I love the messaging behind her usual attire but she does look beautiful in this dress. The delicate yellows and blues. Very pretty.

Then, MOMENT OF THE EPISODE:

I don't know why but I love this argument between Anthony and Simon. Just both of them calling each other out on their bullshit and it's so needed.

Lady Bridgerton is such a good mother. She knows what Eloise wants is not something she can have but she is willing to prolong it as long as she can to ensure Eloise's happiness. I love her.

And, MVP OF THE EPISODE:

I LOOOOVE the idea of Lady Danbury holding this soiree for married women. Men get to have all the fun in those gentlemen clubs of theirs and Lady Danbury said, how about for us ladies as well. I LOVE it!! And to contrast it with the solemn energy at the men's club, it's brilliant.

Also. SHOUT OUT to Lady Bridgerton for just being a great mother.

These are my first impressions, thoughts, and maybe even predictions about the show as I watch it. (I do know some things just because I'm chronically on Pinterest).

Season 1, Episode 6

Why is the head maid so off with Daphne? Is this just a woman hating on a woman for the sake of it? I hope not but she is definitely giving the vibes of hating Daphne right off the bat for NO reason whatsoever.

So, they're out in the rain and to get out of the rain, they go to a random building on the ground, topple to the floor to find that there's already bedding and pillows laid out for them???!!! Am I missing something?

So he's pulling out? Because she asked if it hurt, assuming she's picking up that he's pulling away...

Am I picking this up correctly that she is going to find out that it's not that he can't have kids but that he doesn't want them and that is a wholly different matter and that will be our 75% conflict and then he will have a change of heart? or some such?

Penelope is trying literally everything to stop Marina from taking her man. It's sad to watch🙈 but she is young and these mother's only teach their daughters to do what it takes to snab their man, nothing of friendship and honour.

I really love Eloise and Penelope's friendship. I love Eloise so much and when Pen isn't caught up with Colin, she's so sweet and kind. They're so cute together!

Are we meant to be guessing who Lady Whistledown is? Like should I be paying more attention?? Because who knows of Marina's pregnancy?? And who would have only learnt about it now?? Did Penelope spread the secret before running to Eloise and she's crying about what she's done?? I have questions but I am SOOOO BAD at trying to figure out a mystery before it is revealed.

And now, OUTFIT OF THE EPISODE:

This gown is so pretty. In a calmer episode with no ballgowns, it's a subtle gorgeousness.

Then, MOMENT OF THE EPISODE:

This is heartbreaking. Because now, not only is she sacrificing motherhood but she's also going to take on this unnecessary burden of not wanting the Duke to look incompetent. I don't know how this is going to pan out because Daphne is definitely going to take this whole conversation to mean that if she doesn't get pregnant, it will look bad for the Duke.

And, MVP OF THE EPISODE:

ONCE AGAIN, ROSE!! Having to do what Lady Bridgerton, and far too many parents, avoid doing. TALK TO YOUR KIDS ABOUT SEX PEOPLE! Have age appropriate conversations so that when your child inevitably enters this world, they can do so informed and with understanding! I LOVE ROSE for cultivating a relationship with Daphne where she is comfortable to come and ask such a thing.

Bridgerton Watch Diaries S1E5

Welcome back to an unemployed, out-of-touch, charlatan watching Bridgerton for the first time. I am not part of the fandom. I haven't read the books. These are my first impressions, thoughts, and maybe even predictions about the show as I watch it. (I do know some things just because I'm chronically on Pinterest).

Season 1, Episode 5

I am very easily made to feel awkward and the scene of Daphne reaching for Simon's hand and him pulling away in front of a people who just said they'd make a fine family is KILLER!

It is so heartbreaking to see people with Alzheimer's/Dementia. I have people in my own life struggling with this and it is as heartbreaking in real life.

I still think the queen is weird but I am enjoying getting a deeper look into her. You can tell just from the shortest of conversations that her and the king were true love and I am sad for her that she is losing him.

Props to Colin for being a gentleman and a sweetheart. I can't much say the same thing for his brothers😂 Benedict has gotten himself into a slight bit of a pickle, hasn't he😂

It was a very romantic wedding night, to be sure... But... Why did Simon launch himself to the other side of the bed the second they were done?? Like, I would not feel good if my partner did that to me... Maybe it's just me.

And now, OUTFIT OF THE EPISODE:

Lady Bridgerton, as per usual, looking stunning. I love the delicate details and the pink ribbon. She is beauty, she is grace. I love her.

I also want to talk about Eloise's dress. It's a common idea, I believe, to dress the independent/do-things-on-my-own woman of a historical piece in clothes that push this idea. Some movies do it really badly, but it is done so beautifully here. I've been trying to put my finger on why Eloise always looks so different to the other girls and the fact that it took me this long to figure out is an ode to the wardrobe department's skill. Notice that, I believe almost always, Eloise is wearing something that calls to mind a suit and a cravat, like the men of the day would wear. She doesn't ever show her chest, she always has this cropped suit-like bodice with lapels and buttons and always has a cravat. It's just a beautiful show of her character without being OVERBEARING with it. Really wonderfully done.

Then, MOMENT OF THE EPISODE:

When Hyacinth asks Daphne how it feels to fall asleep and Eloise just jumps in with this banger.

I am not really a romance girly. The waxing poetic of how much someone means to you, it's just not for me. I prefer reading this kind of thing when it's something thought in one's head, not something said out loud. I don't know why but I do understand how one might swoon at the words Simon says to/about Daphne.

And, MVP OF THE EPISODE:

Rose is not only beautiful but she is faced with the promotion of becoming her lady's head maid and she is stepping up to the challenge. She isn't bulking and she is putting her lady's happiness above everything else. What a G.

Daphne is DOWN BAD for Simon😂

Am I misunderstood in saying Simon is definitely fighting the prince vicariously through Mondrich fighting Gillespie? Haha, this is not just about the bets.

I am SOOO happy for Benedict making contacts! I wonder if Eloise is going to be supportive or jealous.🙈 Likely both.

Is it just me or is there something weird going on with Lord Featherington in regards to Marina? I thought it in the first episode and said nothing because I thought it was just a passing thing but he continues to be very weird about her. Is she his daughter? It's just weird.

Simon went from 0-100 real quick with that kiss😳😳 Once a rake, I guess.

Okay, it sucks about Lord Featherington's debts and stuff but I am glad it's not something more untoward.

I am trying my best to take this seriously since I know it's a different time but it's so funny to think that a kiss would cause such a stir. Duels and lives hanging in the balance for a kiss. It's a teeny tiny bit sad to think how quickly we give away our "honour" nowadays. Not that I'm a prude. I am a very firm believer in sex positivity but still.

SHOUT OUT TO THIS WORK OF ART!! I don't know who this is, but they are gorgeous. The androgyny is androgynying and it's spectacular😍

I LOVE Philippa's dress here! Those colours are stunning and they mix with that lilac beautifully. Really stunning. I would wear this myself!

Then, MOMENT OF THE EPISODE:

I love the heartbreak of this final scene. Simon confessing why he can't marry Daphne and Daphne sacrificing something she's always desired to save Simon's life.

And, MVP OF THE EPISODE:

Benedict, going after his dreams, finally getting a tase of what his life could hold for him and then putting all of it aside without hesitation for his brother, sister, and his family. What a man.

Bridgerton Watch Diaries S1E3

Welcome back to an unemployed, out-of-touch, charlatan watching Bridgerton for the first time. I am not part of the fandom. I haven't read the books. These are my first impressions, thoughts, and maybe even predictions about the show as I watch it. (I do know some things just because I'm chronically on Pinterest).

Season 1, Episode 3

There are moment when it is very clear that something is an adaptation of a book. Some things are written for screen and some things are way better on paper. I have not read the Bridgerton books but so far, there have been two stand out moments of this phenomenon: a) when Daphne and Simon first met & b) when Simon describes to Daphne HOW TO PLAY WITH HERSELF🙈😳 I am sure it is sexy on page, but gosh, it made me cringe to hear it said out loud!🙈

I'll ask again, are we meant to be guessing who Lady Whistledown is? I have the idea that she is just a mechanism for narration so I am not looking for any clues or anything. This isn't Gossip Girl, is it?

Let me preface this point with this fact: One of my FAVOURITE tropes is doing/saying something hurtful to someone you love so as to protect them OR to lead them to something better. I love it. So... Why does it feels a bit cheap to have Simon look so broken while "breaking up" with Daphne. I mentioned it in my "episode" but the pace of this is quite quick. This heartbreak about leaving Daphne for her own good would feel more grand if he'd already come to the conclusion that he likes her. But since he hasn't, it's just not quite sitting right... It just happened too soon. Have him fall first and fall hard and then have him have to back off, especially because he knows he doesn't want to marry. It would hit harder.

Does anyone know if the actress who plays Siena actually sings her own part? She sounds beautiful, even if I don't particularly care about her storyline.

Lady Danbury looks like an actual queen! The deep purple. The lace. The high collar. Wow.

I believe this woman is called Miss Cowper. One of the most stunning dresses on the whole show. I absolutely adore it!

Then, MOMENT OF THE EPISODE:

These rich kids not knowing how to light a stove to warm up their milk😂

And, MVP OF THE EPISODE:

Eloise telling her brother not to waste his privilege as a man! It really makes me feel like I shouldn't be wasting my privileges in life. After all, women's rights have come a long way since the Regency Era and I believe Eloise would be disappointed in all us women who don't do something just because we don't think we're good enough at it.

Season 1, Episode 2

I don't know if it's just because I'm close to my period but I CRIED in the first 3 minutes of this episode.

Men are f#cking trash. I can live blissfully most days but when I watch shows like this it just reminds me how TRASH men are🙄

The queen is weird right? Like... the queen is weird... right?

The fact that these girls don't know how babies are made... atrocious... As a mother, wouldn't you think back to how terrified and scared you were and think 'hey, I could sit my daughter down in a safe place and explain this to her so that maybe, MAYBE, she will be more prepared and not as terrified as I was.'

I absolutely LOATHE Simon's dad. I HATE him. I can't get into it more without seeing red.

You would think because I hate Simon's dad, I have sympathy for Simon and like him more. Not really. The only part where I've really liked him is how he takes Lord Berbrooke down in front of Anthony and then again with his fists!

MAN, IT WAS SOOOO GOOD TO WATCH SIMON BEAT THE HELL OUT OF LORD BERBROOKE.

Lady Berbrooke is a boy mom if I've ever seen one. Don't worry, Daphne. He doesn't need a wife, he already has one in his mother.

On the note of men are f#cking trash; woman are f#cking awesome. Powerless? Hysterical? Only good for bearing children? Watch how your problems are solved when a group of women work together to get rid of a slimy, perverted, entitled asshole.

I still can't get over the covers of modern songs in the background. It throws me off so much.

I am curious about the pacing of this in the books, because in the series it feels very fast between "oh, we're enemies" to "oh, we're kinda maybe starting to fall in love"

The ending scene really makes sense of Anthony's insistence that he KNOWS Simon has no intentions of marrying. I assume Simon has shared his motivations with Anthony and it makes more sense now why he is so upset about Simon playing with his sister's season.

And now, OUTFITS OF THE EPISODE: (Strap in because I couldn't pick just ONE)

This beautiful yellow dress Penelope wears on her morning walk with Eloise. I love the mix of colours. It clashes a bit with her hair but still a beautiful dress.

I love the ivory tones of this beautiful dress Daphne wore to the ball. The back is also beautiful with the beaded details falling down to the hem. Gorgeous.

Who in their right minds ever thought Penelope was the "ugly" one. She is stunning. The flowers, the texture. It suits her hair colour. She looks beautiful.

Both Lady Bridgerton and Daphne look BEAUTIFUL here. I love the soft colours on the Lady and the delicate embroider on Daphne.

Next, MOMENTS OF THE EPISODE: (I couldn't just pick ONE)

Once again, Eloise coming in with the comedy. This entire conversation makes me giggle. 8:16 - 8:50

This entire conversation as well. Miss Thompson not realising Penelope is asking 'no, how did it happen' and answering with "cake" and "love."

I love this scene between Eloise and Benedict. It is SO validating to find out someone who matters so much to you actually understands you. My only question is what exactly does Benedict mean when he says he too desires something different.

Lady Danbury stepping in to save her best friend's son. And furthermore when she tells Duke Hastings off for cutting his son off.

Bridgerton Watch Diaries S1E1

These are my first impressions, thoughts, and maybe even predictions about the show as I watch it. (I do know some things just because I'm chronically on Pinterest).

Season 1, Episode 1

I appreciate every outside shot we get of the Bridgerton home! Gorgeous.

Why must we always have a torture-like tight-lacing scene🙄🙄 Corsets are not the enemy people. They were normal, everyday undergarments just like bras are today. They were not torture devices. You could breath just fine. Some bodies are better for tightlacing and others are not.

Favourite Bridgerton daughter: Eloise, right off the bat

Favourite Feathering daughter: Obviously Penelope, but I like how Philippa talks, she makes me smile.

2:56 caught me off guard😳 Not that I am not down for some spicy content but before watching this show, I genuinely thought it was very tame, very PG. Now that I know it's not, I am a little more excited to get into it.

The use of CGI in this show is VERY obvious to me. Not wholly distracting, but noticeable nonetheless.

The queen is weird, right? Like... the queen is weird... Right??

Are we meant to be guessing who Lady Whistledown is? Am I meant to be making predictions?

I CANNOT FOCUS with the classical covers of modern songs happening in the background of the ball scenes... Why? It is so cringey to me. I don't like it at all because it really abolishes the immersion of it being the Regency Era when all I can hear in my head is "Thank You, Next"🙄

Lord Berbrooke is the best character in the whole show. What a gentleman. What a considerate, compassionate, kind-hearted man. I can't see how he is not yet married when he has so much to offer. Daphne would be one lucky girl to land a man like him....😒😒😒

The relationship between Daphne and her maid is quite sweet. They do seem like friends and I like that a lot!

I love how HAPPY Penelope looks when her cousin is getting all the suitors and gifts. She is such a supportive sweetheart. What a queen.

I love Lady Danbury. She really is that bitch and I adore it. And her teaming up with Lady Bridgerton is just juicy and I love it.

I'd like to have a bit of a closer look at comparing Lady Bridgerton and Lady Featherington and how they approach motherhood. Because it is SO obvious how different their motives are. Lady Bridgerton wants what's best for her daughters and she is willing to make it happen, whatever means necessary WHILE always looking out for her girls. Lady Featherington, on the other hand, is only concerned with what will benefit her image. Sure, this is likely to end up beneficial for her daughter's as well but her motivations are solely selfish.

But then, look at their husbands. It seems like Lady Bridgerton had a good marriage and wants that for her daughters while Lady Featherington can't seem to stand her husband and she is making no effort to offer her daughters any better.

Both mothers are approaching with "You will have what I had." For Bridgerton, that's happiness and love. For Featherington, that's bottled up resentment and perfection.

This beautifully textured dress Daphne wears in the dinner scene with the Duke and the Bridgertons. Honorable Mentions:

Eloise immediately picking up on her sister's discomfort and this just comedic delivery of these two lines between Eloise and her mother.

I think it's so funny that Nicky, who is constantly trying to turn any straight man gay, always looking for signs that someone is gay… looked at Andrew's obsession with Kevin and didn't once think "maybe they're screwing" AND THEN looked at Andrew's relationship with Neil and all the trust and the touching and didn't think "well, they're clearly in love"

So I KNOW Ronan is catholic but a moment in my non-denominational church made me think of this: Ronan forces Adam to go to church with him and, because Adam loves him, he agrees. At the end of the sermon, the pastor does an alter call, specifically calling forth people with absent, toxic, or neglectful dads and Ronan just BODILY SHOVES Adam to the front

I completely forgot about this. Before Exy became part of the Butcher's business with the Morimiyas, before her baby was put up on the chopping block, before she had to save his life, she supported his hobby and went OUT OF HER WAY to make it a fun experience for him! Everything changed when Nathan got his hands on this information and twisted it to put her son's life in danger
