i WISH more people knew about age of bronze, it's literally the 'historically accurate' comprehensive and GAY adaptation of the trojan war all the accuracy warriors are clamoring for

it's a comic series written and drawn entirely by Eric Shanower, started in 1998 with those exact parameters

historically situated in the Mycenaean/Hittite cultures

drawing from nearly every text on the war from Homer to Shakespeare

explicit about the possibility that achilles+patroclus may have been meant as lovers. Shanower is gay himself, and found it important to depict them as such all the way back in 1998.

it can be read here in part or here completely (🏴‍☠️), but i also highly recommend supporting the artist, since this is a multi-decade passion project.

The second piece I contributed to the @mcyt-couture-zine , this one in collaboration with the incredible @earlrot ! I did the lines, he did the gorgeous colors/rendering, and we both brainstormed together on the outfit design. It was super super fun to collaborate with Earlrot on this artwork (everybody go compliment him rn!!!) and I absolutely adore how it came out :D

I’m just saying if they did make Muppets The Iliad, they couldn’t actually depict Achilles mowing Hector down and spearing him through the throat so instead how this would look is Animal dragging a very much alive Pepe the Prawn around in circles and laughing maniacally while an uncomfortable Kermit looks at the camera and does that face where the hand inside him clenches a little.

Okay I JUST realized I never posted these on here—- BUT BASICALLY, about a year and a half ago I started doing these experimental black hairstyle posts that were threads long on Twitter, to give artists a source of inspo for their black ocs whose hair they wanted to try something new with! There’s more to black hair than just the selected styles portrayed in media, and I thought it would be fun to show people how much texture, shape, fades, length, and style can be combined when drawing black hair—-cause it’s a kind of manipulation our hair can do irl! The OG posts were lost with the hacking of my original Twitter account (@/bagels_donuts) but I’ve since reuploaded the whole thread to my new Twitter (@/ItsDonutsFR)! Part 1: Long masc hairstyles + playing with fades

Honestly bizarre that tomatoes get all the flack for “not being a vegetable” because they're technically a fruit when:

A) There are a ton of fruits that get categorised as vegetables. Like this also applies to pumpkins, squashes and cucumbers.

B) The fucking mushrooms are standing there at the back of the crowd in this witch trial, trying to look inconspicuous because they somehow got into the vegetable club with no fucking controversy despite the fact that they're not even plants.

This thumbnail is so funny to me. Scar said his favorite part of the day was making bracelets with Gem, so he made that his thumbnail. That would be so sweet (and it is). But he also. Needed Grian to be there ig. So he just. Made a little Grian panel, but Grian looks so unimpressed and is making direct eye contact with the bracelet being passed between Gem and Scar, so it looks like Grian is just really judging that bracelet. Live Grian reaction.

April fool's winners

Got inspired by someone's suggestion to draw Scott and Cleo with tragedy and comedy masks, I tired that but it didn't quite work. So i changed to idea to venetian masks / fools / clowns... Idk it looks cool and i just locked in painting. Don't know if i'll ever have the time to finish this one so enjoy this wip in the meantime
