              Freya smiles at him. “It is plenty enough, especially that we both know what I am capable of anyway; there is no need to put a word to it.” She hugs him back, eyes closing for one peaceful moment. A part of her is tempted to ask him to stay. But he clearly needs this, and she wants only what is best for him. “Hmm. I would love it. I would wear it and complain to our sister about it.” There is no sarcasm in her tone, even though she knows him to be joking. For her, it is THE THOUGHT that counts. The gesture. The shirt would be welcomed and cherished. “It happened at least once, I am certain. Alright, brother, not that I am trying to get rid of you – but will you not miss your flight?”

            “That we do.” His sister is nothing less than a wonderful outstanding exceptional powerful woman; one that he supports whole heartedly. Sometimes he wonders if she realises just how much she means to him. If she knows her worth, her VALUE. He can’t help the small laugh. “I’m certain Rebekah would be disgusted in me and demand I take you somewhere nice to rectify this grievous transgression against you.” Elijah wouldn’t need his little sister pushing him to take Freya on holiday, he has plenty of plans on that himself. “If it did, that will be a secret kept forever.” he commented with a smirk, before checking his watch. “I’ll get there in time, don’t worry sister.” But he should start leaving. “I’ll be back before you know it.”

“Can’t really say unless you’re involved with the investigation. We’re trying to keep a lid what’s released to the press. It effects the investigation, yada yada. But I can tell you, that it’s not an animal attack. It’s exsanguination.” She put her mechanical pencil down and pulling on a blue glove to show him the victim’s neck. “It looks like they’re living out some kind of vampire fantasy, but it’s obviously not teeth. The holes are too sharp, clean, and deep to be any kind of tooth. Not to mention enamel and bone is porous, so it would have a lot more tearing if it was any kind of bite.” 

There’s a little snort and she pulled her hand away from the body, pulled the glove off, and then went into her pocket to pull out a necklace, letting it hang by the rope off of her finger. “While I was at the crime scene, a bystander gave me this. I don’t think joking about werewolf stuff is something you wanna do around locals. She told me it would bring me luck.” It was a pendant that looked a bit like a winding spider’s web in the middle. In a way, it reminded her of a dream catcher, but definitely wasn’t. And back in her pocket it went. 

          “You can count on my compete and utter discretion, I assure you.” Elijah said with a tilt of his head. His gaze followed to where she pointed out the marks on the victims neck. “So not werewolf - but vampire.” he mused, but a frown grew over his face. While there was always the chance that it was someone trying to pin the blame on vampires - the more realistic option was that someone had broken Elijah’s rules. He shook his head. “Who would go to this effort?” He asked, only to give the impression that he did not really think it was a vampire.

He tilted his head at the necklace, a hint of a smile appearing on his face. “Yes, the locals can be a touch superstitious, there is no denying that. Perhaps it was a witch - New Orleans is known for them, you know.” Hm, with another look at the necklace - he actually would not be surprised if a witch did give that to her. Curious.

              When she would wish for someone to fight for her, this is not what she had in mind. She is staring at him, eyes wide with terror and puffy from the tears – he looks exactly the same, but his power is all gone. Because of her. Because of A DEAL he has made to save her ( her life for his immortality ). “No, I am not!” Finally, she finds her voice – trembling and angry and guilty. “You fool, you have sentenced yourself TO DEATH! All you have achieved is postpone mine; now we will both die.” At least, they will grow old together. Or not. He still has so many enemies and no way to defend himself. “How could you do something so stupid?”

          He knows what he has done, and he does not REGRET IT. Does he wish that there had been another way? Of course - but there wasn’t. There is no point in contemplating about could-haves or alternative endings. He lets her express her rage ( but is it not just concern? elijah knows the implications of what he has done. ) “Niklaus always did say I was a SENTIMENTAL FOOL.” he muses, tone even as if he had not just given away a major part of who he was. “But FOR YOU, Freya - any sacrifice is worth it. I will not see you die.” Of course, this meant that she may now see him die - also something he didn’t really want to happen.

i’m gonna state my opinion as a trans person (i’m nonbinary), and trans people are more than welcome to add on, but i really think we need to stop using male and female in the rpc. male and female are terms specifically referring to biological sex, what someone is assigned at birth, and often isn’t the right term to talk about gender. obviously this is more of a preference, and not all trans people will care, but trans people tend to use man and woman, as these no longer include sex designations. when writing your muse’s gender, writing cis man/woman would be more inclusive than writing cis male/female, and would show that you’re taking the time to be considerate of your trans and nonbinary rpc neighbors. (additionally: not all nonbinary people ID as trans, however, we are fully allowed to and this isn’t something that can be debated). 

in the same vein, when talking about shipping, using “m/f” and “f/f” continues that exclusion. obviously it is unintentional, but when looking at posts talking about ships like that, i never truly feel included, as while i’m a wlw, i’m not female. there are many nonbinary lesbians/wlw who are thus excluded, and trans people can also feel excluded. using terms like wlw, mlm, or simply saying ships with men/women is already more inclusive. if you really care about your trans and nonbinary peers, m/f and f/f can be done away with. 

i’m not going to say that the things i’ve mentioned are specifically transphobic, and i’m not saying that you have to change, but i think when considering the nonbinary and trans people on this site, it would be kind to start changing language. at the end of the day, we should all be kind to ourselves and each other! take care <3

tldr; instead of cis male/female, try using cis man/woman, and instead of using “m/f” and “f/f” to talk about ships, try using wlw, mlm, or just write out a couple more words.

           “Yes, as Jeremy pointed out to me. I reminded him that we have no interest in being exposed, and take care of any problems that pop up.” And frankly, are far more equipped to deal with it. Killing any human who discovers the supernatural world is too MESSY. Compulsion is far simpler - but also, not every human NEEDS it. This is not the point of the conversation, but he allows Freya her momentary distraction. This must not be easy for her. He reached out and placed his hand on her shoulder. “Freya, you should tell him. It is not fair on you to keep up what you have when you want MORE - and there is no shame in wanting more.” He shakes his head. “Depending on what kind of man he is, he will not blame you for growing feelings.”
