There’s a shrug. “Well I suppose that’s fair. I wouldn’t want to take up a job I wouldn’t be good at.” Or a job that she didn’t feel particularly comfortable doing.

“I work at a convenience store. The one right across the street from McDonalds. The one over near the shopping malls. Really, it’s not much different from working here.” It’s practically the same thing. Stocking shelves, running the register, making sure the place is decently clean. The only downfall is she’s not allowed to listen to music like that. Whatever the store is playing on its speakers is what she’s stuck listening to.

Rika didn’t mean to overhear Akira’s rambling. But she couldn’t help but share her own opinion on the matter. “I don’t know what the problem is with being promoted. I thought that was like... supposed to be a good thing or something.” Maybe it all depends on the person. Who knows. If it was her being promoted, she’d gladly accept it.

“I mean, look on the bright side. You’ll be making more money as manager. Sure, it comes with a lot of responsibility. But making that kind of money is a good thing, right?” Her head tilts to the side. “Honestly, I could use the promotion.”

“I-I wasn’t crying!” She totally was crying not to long ago. It’s pretty evident considering her eyes are still a bit red and puffy. But the last thing she needs is for Gojo to know this. She’ll never hear the end of his teasing. “You must be hearing things or something.”

Thinking back on this one panel as well as the whole mouth / food consumption aesthetic going on for the how to eat life mv, I feel like Inochi might have a sensitive mouth? Like consuming certain foods and drinks might leave a strange sensation or feeling in his mouth. Mainly things like carbonated drinks such as soda or even coffee if it’s bitter enough. Citrusy foods like oranges and lemons will have the same effect. And that’s why sometimes he’ll scrunch his face up like in the panel above.

Either that or he’ll consume things that just taste gross to him :’)

There’s a casual shrug of his shoulders as he opens up his own can of soda, not long after handing Toge one. “It’s nothing, really.” 

Inochi takes a sip of his soda, scrunching up his face like he usually does when it comes to carbonated drinks. Letting himself lean his back against one of the vending machines, Inochi lets out a sigh. It’s been a long day. Being stuck with the task of exorcising several curses all thanks to that blindfolded idiot. At least now he can relax for the rest of the day. Have some time for himself.

Inochi turns to glance over at the second year. “You know if Gojo is still overseas? Or did he come back already?”
