Their mantra: Conform to the standard.

Obey.

The other choice.

Wildly screaming and unpredictable,

The one whose voice

Whispers that you are capable

Of taking joy from the destruction and the pain!

Expression unhindered by the strict

Moral codes -

“Deny the world!” it screams…

It shouts

“I’m not crazy, the world is!”

A single person, definite

In an infinite

Broken shell,

once known as the world…

These are the choices?

Deny who I am, or deny the world?

To which of these voices

Should I listen?

Be forever defined as

Another brick in the wall,

Or as a madwoman destined to fall?

Choices between scripts to follow.

If my actions, thoughts and words are already written

Then what am I?

If they are not my own

Then what defines me, what defines the self?

My relation to the world?

The place I reside?

How I am viewed by my peers?

Tell me, is the concept of the self

A fallacy?

Made to make people think

They deserve a place in reality?

If that’s what you call it.

More important than

The many questions in my mind…

The one who forces you into a cage or

The one who destroys the world in a fit of rage.

Which one do you find

To be good?

I want an answer,

And I want it now.
